I have had very bad experience with Shoppe Real estate of Brooklyn New York. Even I have heard bad stories from other people too. I really wanted to show my fume here with this review. I am a single person living in New York and working as a professional music producer. I was looking for an apartment for rent in New York and checked many real estate websites and filled in my details. Recently, I got a call from a real estate agent from Shoppe Real Estate of Brooklyn New York and he gave me lectured about properties in New York for more than 10 minutes. He was not keeping his mouth shut so that I can speak. He was a cunning person. Basically, I was interested in the properties that he was offering so I showed my interest and told her my budget. In the following weekend, he showed me two apartments one of which was under my budget. I showed my interest but the owner asked for 20 percent amount in advance. I just told my agent whose name was Conner Reider that Let me think about it and then I will let him know. After few days, he called me and advised me that there were two more people who had shown their interest in the property and offered a higher price than me, but if I am really interested in that apartment, I should make a deal. Because the owner may accept my offer and can sign the deal faster than any other person. He really tried to push me to rent that apartment without making any enquiry or checking the strata report. He also told me that he engage a lawyer who will look over for a legal contract etc. Well, I did not want to lose that apartment so I gave 20 percent amount to my agent. He told me that he will call me again. After one week, he again told me that the owner was asking for 30 percent money. At that time, I was really feeling angry and wanted to punch my agent and owner on their faces but somehow I cooled down myself. I asked my agent to refund the amount that I had paid him before and told him that I am not interested in that apartment anymore. He yelled at me that I had wasted his time etc and cut the phone. I called him again but he did not pick my call. I decided to visit his office and asked him to give back the amount. He refused to pay all money and said he had kept the 5 percent amount for the service and time he had given me. I was really offended by his rudeness and shocked by his attitude and behavior. I will never ever take help from real estate agents of Shoppe Real Estate of Brooklyn New York. They are swindler and Conner Reider is a very shrewd person. read more

The only thing more difficult than buying an apartment in NYC is selling an apartment. When we decided to sell our unique condo in Bushwick, we sent out several emails to brokers who had a good reputation, and a couple of wild cards. Many didn't respond at all, several wrote with a form email, and only one answered with a personal email AND responded to follow up questions and offered to meet us in person. That broker was Jonathan Tager, founder of The Shoppe. Now, Jonathan isn't like most real estate brokers that I have worked with. Having spent some time in LA, Jonathan has a laid-back style which immediately puts you at ease...but which is backed up by action and experience. I'm more of a DIY person, so leaving things in someone else's hands, especially something as momentous as selling an apartment, was a definite leap of faith for us... Jonathan made it extremely easy. He listened to us (actually listened, imagine that) and took in what we had to say, our concerns, fears, and hopes...and let us know his thoughts about the actual market conditions etc. He gave it to us straight, and--this is important--never pressured us into listing the place with him, or even encouraging us to sell the place at all. This is what made me trust him, and why we listed the place with him and The Shoppe. Jonathan came up with a plan for the sale, had excellent photos taken, a great listing created, and we were on our way. Everything was planned with results in mind, not random hit-or-miss action, and he kept us informed of everything that was happening. When the first buyer fell through, he guided us with his experience, and we found another buyer quickly. When that deal looked like it might fall through also, his team (GO WITH HIS TEAM--lawyers etc) worked with the buyer to close the deal. The important thing to take from this experience, about JT, is this--everything that he said was going to happen--at that initial in-person meeting--happened. Nothing was a secret or a surprise. Our place sold for a great price, and I do believe it was because it was a unique place, but a huge part of it was The Shoppe's plan from beginning to end which made it so successful. If you are considering buying, selling, or renting in Brooklyn, especially Bushwick, I would strongly encourage you to go with the Shoppe and Jonathan in particular. Drop by and have a beer and play some pool at their offices, and let him know what you are thinking, you will not regret it. read more

Last month, I and my girlfriend thought of renting an apartment in Williamsburg Brooklyn. We had saved our earning just to rent a home where we can live happily. I checked the website named Shopper Real Estate but they have not provided any listing of homes. We decided to meet a real estate broker Conner Reider from the Shopper real estate, who claimed himself as a number one broker in Brooklyn though he is not. He showed us an apartment and introduced us to the owner of the apartment JT Jonathan Tager. After checking all rooms etc we were interested in renting that apartment, so I put in my offer. They said they will let me know in a week. In the following weekend, Conner called me; he advised me that there were already two more clients who were offering more than mine. He tried to push me to rent the property. He told me that he will do all paperwork ready only if I am interested. I really did not want to lose that spacious property, so I said yes to him. The owner wanted 30 percent money on the spot, first, we said no to him as we wanted to finalize the paperwork first before giving him the money but it was my mistake that I put trust on my broker and gave him half of my savings. The paper we had signed was forged. Next Day when I contacted my agent, he did not pick my call even the owner of the apartment was not the real owner. Both of them set a trap for us and we felled into their trap. To my bad luck, we have been robbed by them. I really feel embarrassed to say this that we were robbed by to frauds of Brooklyn city. Conner Reider is cheater, liar, and criminal who make his people fool. JT Jonathan Tager is his partner in this crime. They have robbed our saving and left us with nothing. Shopper Real Estate is a fake website. Conner Reider and JT Jonathan Tager both are the son of b*tc*. They are robbers in Brooklyn. I have really bad experiences of my life with Shopper Real Estate. I have lost my hard earned money just in few minutes because of my blind trust on that A*s h*le Conner Reider. read more

My new leasee has great credit, was throughly vetted in application process, and also interviewed by the showing agent to make sure that we are compatible. I have no doubt that this is going to be a great fit. This took a huge amount of pressure off of me. My only regret is that I did not find myself with Corcoran three months earlier. Judy was amazing to work with!!!! I was moving to Brooklyn from out of town and I had no knowledge of the area or of precise details on my move date. She was able to work around my hectic schedule and do everything I needed to do to obtain the perfect apartment remotely. She found several apartments that met the criteria that I was looking for in my price range. She also provided some guidance on different neighborhoods that I hadn't thought about. She sent videos and pictures of several apartments. She even looked at apartments listings that I would randomly send her. She was always friendly, professional and accommodating. She was able to answer questions in a timely manner and was willing to work with me even though I was not yet in NY. She even moved around her schedule to meet with me and show me apartments on the one impromptu visit I made during the search It was completely unplanned and sprung on her at the last moment, but she didn't miss a beat. When it came time to sign my lease, I wasn't in NY and she made the whole process seamless. I couldn't have made my move without her. My apartment is wonderful and I'm happily settled. I had the pleasure of meeting with Jonathan when I was in a pretty bad shape: I had to move out of my apartment the day before and had nowhere to stay as the landlord of my new apartment just backed out of the lease for some non-understandable reason. My roommate and I were literally homeless, when we came across Jonathan. Jonathan is the rare exception in New York's real estate jungle who makes getting an apartment so easy. We originally contacted Jonathan and based on our needs, we dealt with Savanna. Savanna was a life saver, from driving us all over brooklyn to letting us see apartments at a moment's notice, she was great. She was polite, very helpful and went out of her way in order to find us the apartment we wanted. Savanna truly cares about her clients and tries to find the apartment that the client wants, unlike most other realty companies we have dealt with in the past. We would definitively deal with The Shoppe again and have recommeneded both The Shoppe and Savanna to all of our friends and family.
