    Chicken quesadilla
    Jackie B.

Great place to stop in and get a tasty bite of bbq. The chicken quesadilla was really good. We also had the salad +1 meat and that was also good. Glad we stopped in!

    Ribs

We have eaten (specifically Brisket) from Jones BBQ in VIctoria a few times and were always happy with our food. However, when we ordered takeout from the Langford location yesterday, after a 10 minute drive home: - all food was cold - chicken was tough - sausage was meh - ribs were dry - buns were hard, like cold toast - pork butt was dry Only thing that was ok was: - the Brisket (although still cold) - coleslaw was fine (coleslaw) - pickles are pickles I would of given the rating 1 star if it wasn't still for the Brisket. For a $150.00 meal on my birthday, never again!!

Wow this place is legit! We were here on a July 4th weekend, got in line around 11:20 (it wasn't…read moretoo bad) and watched the line just get progressively longer. There's umbrellas along the queue so you're mostly shaded while waiting to order. The wait to order goes by somewhat slowly - in a way that feels well timed to not overwhelm the kitchen. For eating, there's counter space along the water and there's a FEW small stools to sit on underneath umbrellas. Honestly everything does look VERY good and I would definitely come back multiple times; I'd be interested in trying nearly everything on the menu! For this first visit, we got one piece of fried halibut and the poutine. The chips (fries) are VERY good. Next time I wouldn't order the poutine as a party of two because it is pretty salty and filing (maybe it makes sense to share with a larger party). I've got my eye on the salmon sandwich and the tacones for next time.

Going against the general crowd opinion about fish and chips…read more Chips actually were very good. 5/5. But fish for me was not as afresh as I expected it to be and the coating felt little thick for my taste. On the other hand the tacones were lip smacking good. We tried ones with cod but the the flavor was highlighted coz of added coriander seeds in their sauce. Loved the coleslaw. Can't eat those deep fried fish without refreshing side due dish. Salmon was also good. 4/5. We stayed in line for good 40 minutes but found a table along the boardwalk. This was on a Monday evening. At 6 PM. Thankfully, all the time busy marina kept our toddler busy. It's a small shack and right between a seaplane harbor and kayak rental. WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND TACONES!

FOOD Half & Half ($37.50) If you're getting chicken, you're going all in on boneless (or bone-in) and at least they offer the ability to try a couple of flavours while you're at it! This time, we tried: - Sweet Honey - decent, but a little too sweet for me... - Original - my tastebud lean towards Popeyes' offering but this was alright. === 3. SERVICE The counter service was pleasant on the phone and in-person. The long wait times (45 mins - gulp) leave a lot to be desired, but also point to the popularity of the place. === 4. ENVIRONMENT It's simple inside if not a little dark, but clean enough. There are tables for small groups of 2 or 4 to eat at and wheelchairs and baby strollers would fit. Supposedly, the joint was started by a 6/49 lotto winner, who since sold it to the current owners. Parking is limited on the street upfront, so you're looking to quickly stop in the residential parking spots along the side streets to eat-in or grab your takeout order.

I can find an option for each of them, no matter how picky they're feeling and I can also get myself something that will satisfy me. Not a bad job for a mall food court restaurant. I recently tried the Koryo fries and they were fantastic (okay I wasn't looking for something healthy for myself that day, parental double standard). They asked if I wanted them spicy and I said yes, expecting the usual little tingle that are other cultures interpretation of Caucasian tolerance for spice. This time I got the burn I wanted. If you find yourself in the mall and hungry, hit up Koryo for some decent fast food.

Fast forward to the food court (yes, I am easily convinced). Scanning around I didn't see anything tasty or interesting at all until I landed on a small store in the far corner -- Koryo. With an exterior screaming "Asian fusion!!!" I assumed it would be some terrible offspring of mall and Asian fusion. Turns out, the food wasn't bad at all. PROS: + All barbecued meats are marinated, Korean style and then grilled + Meals come with healthy helpings of rice and side dishes that you can choose; side dishes are authentic and really good + Kimchee is particularly good at this place + Some innovative Korean-American menu items CONS: - Although this is a good Korean fix to get in downtown, the meat doesn't seem to be marinated as well as going to an actual joint that serves Korean BBQ; speaking of which, I heard there is a Korean BBQ place on Fisgard St.? - Expect to pay a decent price for the food, although you can opt for the cheaper sandwiches, forgoing the lunch plates
