We were sat by the window, and our orders were taken quickly. In short time the two items we ordered came out: - Pork & Cabbage Dumplings: Excellent. They're plump, they're fresh, and they were delicious. I can see why they sell them frozen to take home too. - Tteokbokki (떡볶이): Very good. I can't say I'm a good judge of tteokbokki, but it was fresh, had good texture, and not overly spicy. Service is very friendly. Sometimes, the most simple food in the simple places is all I really want, and this place delivered on it. I would definitely go back to try more of their dumplings. read more

Super yummy dumplings! We tried the pork and shrimp dumplings, beef bulgolgi dumplings, and vegetable dumplings. They were all so beautifully folded and juicy. Just returned from eating at the Chubby Dumpling. I'm Korean and love dumpling soup/mondu-guk. These dumplings live up to their name - they were fat, fresh, and so damn delicious. The broth was like my Umma's! We also ordered veg bibbimbop and kimbop. Both were also excellent. We got there at 7pm and they had run out of veg dumplings, so plan your life vegetarians so you, too can enjoy chubby dumplings. My boyfriend didn't get to try the dumplings. The dumplings were made pretty decent, the rapper was cooked with a good texture. It didn't break apart like some dumpling shops. The kimchi dumpling soup was not good at all to me. The broth just tasted like hot water. There was no seasoning to it. I had to add dumpling sauce to make it more flavorful. The kimchi dumpling inside the soup was also flavorful. There was no in this dish whatsoever. Probably the worst dish of them all. I had the kimchi seafood soup and the seafood they put in. It was all frozen. You can tell because the muscles did not have shells and there was no shrimp. It was definitely spicy. And they give you a side of pickles and seaweed salad and rice.my dish was probably the most flavorful out of them all. My daughter got the tuna mayo gimbap and she thought it was good. Wonderfully fresh and fragrant. This establishment caught our eye after we had already had ramen for lunch around the corner, but we couldn't resist giving it a try! We had ordered a few items to go and they were all gone by the time we loaded up onto the Ferry to get home. All our friends enjoyed the snack and devoured them in minutes. The owners mentioned that they were usually closed on Mondays and were testing out on being open on Mondays, so I guess we lucked out! As experienced dumpling fans, we were excited to try this place out during a visit to Victoria. The dumplings were good, but nothing special. But a bigger factor for the poor rating was the horrible service, which obviously takes away from your overall experience. They were completely out of various items, on an already limited menu just at the start of a weekend dinner service, but could not handle the few customer orders that were actually being placed. The whole time we were there, only three customers came in, including us, and they could not manage to handle these orders. Will not be back and not worth the prices for either the food or the service. read more

The fresh, handmade dumplings are delicious, the spicy noodle with fish cake very flavorful and the service friendly and helpful. The menu is not extensive, mostly dumplings and a few other dishes (worked great for the one kid who won't eat dumplings anymore), but it was delicious!!! It may have spoiled me for other dumplings so I guess we'll have to come back anytime we're in a Dumpling mood!
