Just returned from eating at the Chubby Dumpling. I'm Korean and love dumpling soup/mondu-guk. These dumplings live up to their name - they were fat, fresh, and so damn delicious. The broth was like my Umma's! We also ordered veg bibbimbop and kimbop. Both were also excellent. We got there at 7pm and they had run out of veg dumplings, so plan your life vegetarians so you, too can enjoy chubby dumplings. My boyfriend didn't get to try the dumplings. The wait staff was on it - attentive and kind. The food came quickly. The place is a small simple restaurant with table service. Definitely get the dumplings! They are 10/10!

Tiny little place but the food and the service is amazing! I got the gimbap and my husband got some pork dumplings and bulgogi. Everything was amazing! We had been walking around Victoria all day and were starving. We saw this place the first day of our trip and I'm glad we stopped here. The food came out fast and the staff was very sweet! Everything was fresh and cooked to perfections!

Such delicious food and the service was fast and friendly! The dumplings and soup were flavorful, out of this world! They make sure to tell you about things that are spicy when you are ordering and they have complimentary sides to go with your dishes. 10/10 would recommend

A excellent place to have some dumplings or Korean food for lunch is Chubby Dumpling. The host was very welcoming and quickly located a place for us to sit at. We got the Tteok-bokki and some veggie dumplings. The vegetable dumplings and Tteok-bokki were both excellent. The vegetable fillings were fantastic in the dumplings. Boiled eggs, Thick noodles, Fish cakes, sesame seeds, and greens were the main ingredients of tteok-bokki, a spicy dish with some fantastic flavours. Wonderful customer service from the hosts/owners. Great and casual ambiance. I heartily recommend this location!

Cute little Korean shop on the way to Chinatown. The bi bim bap and veggie dumplings were very generous portions and were very delicious and filling! The place got filled up really quick first thing in the morning but if you are in a hurry, you can also order online through their website!

Not much to say other than the dumplings were indeed chubby, and tasty as well. Not much in the way of atmosphere but a great place for a quick bite or takeout.

These dumplings will make you chubby because you can't have just one. Chubby Dumpling was a solid spot for dumplings in Victoria. Glad we were able to have this tasty snack, just right across from where we were staying. Located in Victoria's Chinatown area, we spotted Chubby Dumpling while walking towards the Chinatown neighborhood from our airbnb. With a name like that, who wouldn't be curious? Plus, we always have room for dumplings. We visited on a late afternoon on a Saturday, so we were the only ones dining inside. One other patron was getting takeout. Since we already had lunch, we just wanted to try their dumplings, so my partner and I shared the shrimp, pork and chive dumplings, which didn't take long to get. In addition to the dumplings, our server gave us some pickled radish to go with the dumplings and provided a vinegar-soy sauce for dipping. The dumplings were tasty! They were steamed and had a good amount of portion of pork and shrimp. For a plate, it came with eight dumplings, so was good for sharing. If you're looking for some dumplings in Victoria, then Chubby Dumpling is a solid eatery for just that.

This little dumpling shop serves Korean inspired food. The decor is very basic. It looks like you stepped into an IKEA shop. The weight staff is very friendly and accommodating. To me their food was just OK. Some dishes, better than others. The bowl Gokey dish was a little under flavored and the meat was so dry. There was no sauce in the dish. It did not look or taste fresh. The dumplings were made pretty decent, the rapper was cooked with a good texture. It didn't break apart like some dumpling shops. The kimchi dumpling soup was not good at all to me. The broth just tasted like hot water. There was no seasoning to it. I had to add dumpling sauce to make it more flavorful. The kimchi dumpling inside the soup was also flavorful. There was no in this dish whatsoever. Probably the worst dish of them all. I had the kimchi seafood soup and the seafood they put in. It was all frozen. You can tell because the muscles did not have shells and there was no shrimp. It was definitely spicy. And they give you a side of pickles and seaweed salad and rice.my dish was probably the most flavorful out of them all. My daughter got the tuna mayo gimbap and she thought it was good. Over all the food was not memorable, but it was decent. Just make sure not to order the dumpling kimchi soup

Steamed dumplings served on Steam tray with a zesty red pepper and tangy soy sauce to flavor was an excellent lighr lunch to have.

Good, solid dumplings at a reasonable price. Gotta admit I had my concerns, when at 12:30 lunchtime I was the only one in the shop. I asked the server for suggestions and he said, "Well, we're known for our dumplings." Really? So after the smarty-pants comment I ordered the combo which consisted of five dumplings and a bowl of dukbokki (sorry if I misspell). The pork and cabbage dumplings were pan-fried and super good. Some of the best I've had. Very flavorful with good chew on the dumpling. The dukbokki or tteobokki was sooo good. The rice noodle is as thick as your thumb and carries the gochujang well. A few veggies, boiled egg, and some fish cakes makes this a savory firecracker of a meal.

Absolutely delicious and very kind and friendly staff member. So glad we stopped here for food. Service was quick as well.

The bun was incredibly fresh, light, and pillowy, while the pork belly was melt-in-your-mouth tender with the perfect balance of richness and tang from the kimchi. The pickled vegetables added a bright crunch that tasted incredibly fresh. We started with the salmon tartare, and it was phenomenal! Rich, buttery, bursting with flavor, and so good we were literally fighting over the last bite. And the scallop? Order one for each person. Seriously. It's far too delicious to share. It had just the right amount of heat, leaving the perfect lingering warmth that immediately made us want another. Do yourself a favor and give yourself enough time to work your way through the menu, because every dish we tried was outstanding. Each plate was thoughtfully curated, beautifully executed, and cooked to perfection. I like to call it the C³ trifecta: curated, created, and cooked. Without question, this is some of the best food we've had in a very long time. We can't wait to come back (when visiting) and continue eating our way through the rest of the menu.
