The property is well-maintained, clean (well, as clean as a farm gets) and orderly. Staff are thoughtful, attentive and at ease with the day-to-day management of the horses, and their owners :) The owner, Lisa, is a lifelong equestrian and displays the innate skills to run the operations, instructional services, boarding, training and other requirements of the farm, while maintaining a safe environment. She exhibits a deep understanding of the horse psyche. There is a sense of unity amongst owners, riders and staff. I think it is a happy place. As I have relocated to the West Coast, I miss all things EDF. Were I to return to New England, this would be my choice. Thanks EDF staff!!!

Alpacas shearing happened already (spring) so if you want to see them with full fur, staff told us to return in Nov. They are still cute :) Tour runs 45 mins long and we get to feed and pet them. I am so bad with names but I know one is called Summer. Two pregnant mamas and one baby on the ranch! On the way out, please put a donation in the jar or make a purchase at the store. Plenty of cute socks, sweater, etc. Please note that you will smell alpaca spit (or musty odor) when you enter the shop/ranch and even after you depart. Don't wear fancy clothes.

Each week, members get the chance to go out into the fields and harvest certain fruits, vegetables, and herbs themselves -- it's such a fun, hands-on way to connect with the food and the land. I had the chance to stop by their Strawberry Festival last month and it was an enjoyable event…read more Unfortunately given the 1 lane road either way they caused their own traffic jam in/out and ran out of parking in the main lot. My friend and I wound up in the overflow a little after 11am when the event started. I've always seen signs around when I'm driving in the area for other events or goods that they are selling. In the fall they seem especially popular as well for pumpkins and fall activities. The market area is brightly lit. Given the neighborhood, as everyone else has commented expect prices to be at a premium. The samples we tried at the Strawberry Festival were tasty. My favorite was the short cake. They also offered tickets at $1/ticket for some other paid offerings such as their ice cream which I skipped. They had someone dressed up as the Green Monster so that was a fun photo op for the family too. The event had a lot of staff so each station was moving. In fact one of the owners/managers came by seeing a long queue near the entrance by the pasta said we could walk around to the other stations since no one should be waiting in a line (ignore the line to park and get in haha.) I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to visit but it's an option for local. I've also gone to Wagon Wheel which is smaller for seasonal / market type items.
