We hired them for a small petting zoo for my grandson's second birthday. The setup was perfect - they put up a pop up for shade, a fence to keep the animals in and food and water for the animals. The staff is so kind and informative and you see the care and respect they have for the animals. Such great examples for little ones. It was a so much fun, a wonderful hands on experience, and my grandson absolutely loved it. Highly recommend.

I took the kids I care for on a trip to the Carriage Shack Farm and we had the best time! It's on a quiet road, tucked down a dirt/gravel drive. It has that real authentic farm feel (without the farm smell!) The other families that were there brought children who didn't look much older than 5 or 6 years old. My kids are 9, 11 & 13. Even though petting farms are typically for a younger crowd, my kids really enjoyed themselves. This farm has a ton of animals. We got to see pigs, sheep, llamas, pigs, turkeys, ponies, steers, hens, ducks, peacocks, turtles, tortoises, bunnies, goats, geese, and quite the variety of chickens. The animals are housed near each other so the walking is minimal. All of the animals are well mannered here! (I've been to my share of petting zoos with unfriendly animals and getting nipped when you're interacting is not a fun experience). We got to go inside the goat pen and pet them up close. The kids got to go inside the pen that holds the bunnies and pet them. This is a family owned farm and there were plenty of people around to answer questions about the animals and show us where to go. They were nice and we learned some new things. The people working there stayed close by, but not so close that we felt like we were being hovered over. The $5 a person entrance fee includes a tractor ride and rope demonstration. The kids each got to make some rope to take home. The tractor ride is covered, and I enjoyed the ride in the shade. It cost extra to go on a pony ride ($4 each) and feed the animals ($1 for two cones of feed). The younger 2 went on the pony ride and loved it. We all fed the animals and I have to admit, it really was fun. It was a little awkward when I paid for the activities. I'm so use to being bluntly asked for money the second I go anywhere. The people here are more laid back They have popcorn and water available for purchase, as well as fresh eggs. You can also preorder your thanksgiving turkey. While we were walking around the farm, we got to see the turkeys that would become food come November. I thought it would be at least a little traumatizing (pardon me being a vegetarian). The kids were unfazed. It is a working farm and they got a better understanding of where their food comes from. They also have a well "like in the olden days" as one of my kids described. It's low to the ground and the kids got to pump the lever to make the water come out. They were all fascinated by the well and spent about 15 minutes playing with it (The water is recycled through the apparatus, so they could play with it all they wanted without wasting water.) I gave this farm 5 stars because as an adult I had a great time and would definitely go back.

Adorable family run farm. Everyone is beyond friendly. There are so many animals to see and pet including ducks, chickens, goats, mini horses, baby emus, alpacas, bunnies and a pot bellied pig. Great way to spend an afternoon!

This is the most amazing place to visit whether just to stop by to see the animals or have a birthday party. These people work so hard to make you feel comfortable and welcome. My grandchildren love going there and pet the animals and have a ride on the wagon. They always have popcorn and during holidays ( I was there for Easter and Christmas) my grandchildren got to have there pictures taken with the Easter bunny and Santa. I highly recommend this family run farm.

We went with family friends and the kids had a lot of fun. It's a nice, relaxing place that has a lot to do in a small space... carriage ride, horse ride, lots of animals to pet, a picnic area, AND they sell fresh eggs, which we bought! It was a perfect way to spend the morning. There were always a few people right nearby who work there, and they were all very friendly and seemed very dedicated to the animals. The animals themselves were very comfortable with people, and they have a funny ox who actually poses when he sees a phone coming out for a selfie!

The Shack Family is truly one of a kind. We arrived greeted by the female owner with open arms. She was so friendly and accommodating it was like she was welcoming us to her home. This farm is family run and it shows. The passion of this family is amazing. From the son and daughter to the mom and dad this family truly wants to give you a great time. The entry fee is 5 bucks (much cheaper than any other zoo around!)This included a wagon ride, popcorn, water, ice cream and all the animals a toddler would want to see. Sheeps, chicks, horses, goats, hens, turkeys, llamas, pigs, tortoises and everything in between. What a great experience to explore farm life. Kudos to this family run business. I hope they stay open for many more years to come. It was awesome. Not to mention pony rides, face painting and a blacksmith work shop. Thanks again guys!

Primarily due to the fact that I normally pick up fresh eggs from my bestie in Derry, I ended up searching for a contingency plan in the event she was already sold out on her end. Such was the case today. First, a caveat: if you're happening by this store southbound, the parking lot entrance will be the second turn on the right just past the store itself. It can be a little confusing due to the second logo sign on the side of the warehouse building which, to newcomers, may appear to be an entrance point. I have no idea if and what they keep back there (probably just extended storage), but from what I could ascertain, the main store is the smaller building in the center of it all. Naturally, the interior is (like I said) small and pretty unassuming, if I'm being entirely accurate. What you see is what you get and this is a good thing. Because everything looked pretty fresh and tasty to me. I possess neither the space nor memory to recall every last item they have here. But in addition to extra large fresh eggs, they also feature baked goods (to include my all time favorite - FUDGE!!) and real maple syrup. That's right! None of that synthetic, overly sugary crap for us true New Englanders. This, and other grocery stores like it, are the places we go when we want true, authentic maple syrup. So anyways, I was here for the eggs. Now, I may be writing this review prematurely since I haven't exactly tasted the eggs yet. But from what I can tell, this place is legit. They even have Apple and Google pay, which actually surprised me. The Yelp page didn't list this as a viable option at the time of writing this review. I will certainly be submitting an update recommendation to the powers that be. The staff were quite friendly and approachable. Didn't really stay long to chat or anything though. Those were just my first impressions. The location is tucked away, but easy to get to. It also appears they have quite the local following. So, I definitely will return. At some point, I'd really like to get my hands on that peanut butter fudge and genuine maple syrup. Can't really recommend this place any harder for picking up fresh produce and treats. Sunnycrest Farms is worthy of 5 extra large farm fresh eggs served any style out of 5.

If you like hiking, there are a ton of trails, a playground for your kids, and a small lake where you can do some fishing (tiny fish). There's no wildlife there, just some lovely and friendly geese. Many people go there to take pictures with their families, celebrate birthdays, and have BBQs. Unfortunately, the restroom is closed during the winter season, but there is a small one up the hill near the shop. It gets slippery during snowy weather, so make sure to wear the right shoes. I wish they could bring back the zoo or at least add some animals like rabbits, guinea pigs, monkeys, goats, lambs, chickens, etc. Thank you!

I live in Los Angeles, but I have my own Benson's Collection and have been long-time obsessed with the park! I've been following Friend's Of Benson's Park on Facebook and have seen all the amazing work they've done restoring things. I was ecstatic when I heard that they were restoring the Elephant Barn into a Benson's Museum!!! I rarely make it back east, so when I was last month, I sadly realized that they are seasonally open and were closed for the winter. However... just for the heck of it, I contacted them through facebook and they were kind enough to open it just for me and my family!!! How nice is that?!?!? I can't give a fully authentic review because I wasn't able to see it in its full glory. Most of what is normally there is not currently there, and (as warned by the couple who run it) it wasn't set up and kind of dirty. That didn't matter to me, as I was able to see some crazy stuff that brought back some awesome memories! The highlight for me was seeing the Elephant Barn and Gorilla House large wooden signs! They were SO cool and exactly as I remembered them! Additionally, there was one of the large Toy Soldiers that they brought our during Christmas, some of the Hippo toppers that used to be on the trash bins, and even one of the old chainsaw statues. They had other stuff as well. My imagination ran wild about what this place could be. There is still a lot of work to be done, and the next thing is that they need to raise the money to put heat and climate control in the building. So folks can work during the winter and so that they can permanently store stuff here. Before he died, Friend's Of Benson's bought Arthur Provincher's (Benson's final owner) personal HUGE Benson's Collection. The folks I spoke with said they've never even seen it because it's still in storage. I can't WAIT to see that someday! Right now, only the front of the elephant barn is open during the season, but once they work on it, there is a whole large back section that I can envision how wonderful a museum would be here. There is even the place where the penguins used to be that still has the old faux rock in it! What an amazing display that could be once they restore that! I know this is a review, but please look them up and donate to them if you can. I'd love to see this come to be finished in my lifetime!!! When you go, make sure you check out the rest of the grounds! They have the old Gorilla house and the Woman Who Lived In A Shoe Boot all restored for folks to enjoy! It was really awesome!

The lights make me feel happy, almost like stepping into another world. If you haven't been, you have to go at night to really experience the full effect. It is also organized in a way that that you walk in one direction and don't have to think so you really get to relax and enjoy the experience. The interactive segments were pretty cool too, but I did not wait for them since there were lines. Great experience and stroller friendly! The parking situation was very chaotic so having better organization for that would improve the whole experience.
