Mmm. Cardamom tea.

What a fantastic place to wander into! Of course they have an array of Persian sundries. But there are other wonderful hard to find grocery items, like lactose-free labne, Strauss brand dairy products (hello sour cream and $8 a pound butter!), all manner of delicious grapes, Eastern European pelmeni in different varieties in the frozen section, frozen fava beans (already peeled!), red currants, zaatar blends by countries/culture, and really fresh fruits and vegetables.,

Awesome place for purchase Turkish food and foodstuffs, you have many options to choose, cool customer service and friendly, very reasonable prices

Beautiful fruits sold here!

I had no intentions of stopping by here, in fact, I didn't even know this place was open. However, driving down Westwood Blvd. I was instantly drawn in by a window full of beautiful, bright fruits; some conventional and some a little exotic. When my eyes caught a basket of ginormous pomegranates, I had to stop in and get one. The owner has an old school charm, super friendly and very welcoming. He even took the time to give me a mini demo on the proper way to get the seeds out of a pomegranate. I haven't tried it yet, but he said "you have to have patience." Okay. The store is small and inviting, it doesn't feel entirely like a market and I wouldn't dare call it a grocery store. I can't speak on produce beyond the fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs I saw, but I will definitely be back; especially since this location is a little more convenient that the other Persian market I sometimes go to. There is easy metered parking in front, so stop by and check out the cool variety of fruits and other goods.

Small Persian market that has fortunately stayed open during the stay-at-home order. While I haven't purchased any produce from here, I have been satisfied with the selection/price of their packaged and canned food items (love getting Sadaf stuffed grape leaves). I like picking up the make-at-home falafel kits and caramel custard kits they have here, and they have a large dessert selection including baklava and halva. Note, they don't take EBT and they have a card minimum. Looking forward to be back!

Bought a few things here today. Didn't realize until I got home that some of them were expired. One by 4 MONTHS.

I'm sure it has been a challenge. They are doing a great job on keeping the store stocked and well-organized. Great variety of products. You may have to get out your translator on some of the packaging. Nice feeling of comfort. Visit the upstairs to get more of the Asian experience of food and culture. I'm planning on returning again when I visit Westwood.

I was in awe of its immaculate organization and the sashimi/sushi section where workers assembled sashimi on spot. Just as I pondered if I were in food heaven, revelation hit and brought me back to banality. At the juice section, my spidey sense told me we were stalked by an Asian mid-aged female employee (or supervisor) with impeccable make-up on her rigid face. She followed us around and made me feel uncomfortable. I figured out later due to its imprudent store layout which had Fresh Produce section right next to exit and on the opposite side of check out, they suspect every customer of shoplifting. Imagine discomfort and anxiousness merely being there. There were a few securities there construing the above-said shenanigans. Exactly who likes to be followed or policed while shopping? No wonder my kiddo avoided this place since the fatal car accident inside the store in February. Eerie Feng Shui and ominous energy.

SOOOO CLEAN and organized!…read more Fresh produce, great meats, spices, seasonings, fresh baklava....... Nice handpicked items in the store by the owners. It seems like every item on the shelf has earned a place in the market. Superior brands at great prices. Many organic and healthy items. My go to for better prices (Whole Foods, Earwhorn) for many of the same brand items. They even give you a small cup of their special tea when you are at the checkstand. Free of charge....it's a thoughtful touch by thoughtful owners.

The market is fully stocked with all shelves full...maybe over full, as I noticed many items were expired or past their recommended shelf life. Fruits and veggies were pretty fresh, though non-organic. Also, many varieties of spices and rare spicy. Great if you are looking for some hard to find spice for middle eastern, Mediterranean or Asian cuisines. I'm big on overall food freshness, so this is why I wouldn't necessarily recommend this place. If the packaged goods were expired on the shelf, not sure how many other products were aged. Can't tell age of spices, tea or anything else like that, so as Mich as I'd love to support small, local grocers...I just wouldn't come back:( Honestly, if they'd just clear their inventory of old things and keep it simple...they'd get customers like me, but I just can't trust a business that is so cheap, it will discount old things rather than get new ones.

I saw carrots for a good deal but overpriced peppers. As is commonly known, usually small markets have only higher prices for produce and kosher meat. In the deli/butcher section they have seasoned food ready to cook or grill. I like their hot Persian food sold by weight. The beef celery stew with dill is hearty and comforting. Further behind is the huge spices area, in small bags and large containers. Come get zatar, sumac or other spices from the Middle East here aplenty. However, it would be helpful if prices were all marked. Regarding service, I've found better customer service from female employees. One man who rang up my purchase was on his cell phone the whole time. He didn't stop or pause his conversation, no greeting or thank you and didn't even ask if I wanted a bag. He wasn't rude, just not attentive. There's a sizeable section of healthy snacks and a small case of fancy cakes. The food cooked under an awning in parking lot smells so good I can't believe I haven't tried some yet. Chanukkah knick knacks are out already, many variations of dreidels, and some small plastic chanukiyot (menorahs). It's in a very small strip mall but if you can't find parking, there's a parking lot adjacent to it or neighborhood parking. Finally, please note they are closed on Saturday.
