He is the definition of kind. He greets everyone with a smile and, if he knows you well enough, a hug. He does his job impeccably while still taking the time to ask people how they're doing and genuinely listen to the answer. No matter how busy the store gets, I have never seen him rude or in a bad mood. Let's just say the self-checkout area isn't quite the same when Chris isn't there. I've been shopping here for a long time, and Chris has been part of that experience for as long as I can remember. He's one of those people who truly makes a neighborhood store feel like a community. And with some exceptions most of them the staff isn't at all friendly, often your smile will be met with a cold expression.
