Got a two piece combo with two sides and upgraded the drink to a taro boba. Everything was delicious. The chicken has an especially sweet crunch to the outer shell and I've never had such a satisfying bite to a fried chicken in this city before. The service was impeccable. I was served by the manager, in fact. He is a kindhearted soul. He will help make sure your time there is perfect, in a doting way. The ambiance is nice. Think, hole in the wall meets a hyper-clean staff and everything is absolutely perfect. I will ~definitely~ go again

Some fried chicken is not so good. This fried chicken, however, is very good. All fried chicken is good though. I will not hate on any fried chicken other than the fast food sponge type. That shit is gross! I have been to all locations that these folk have. I hope they make it here (more on that in a few). This location seems pretty dead mostly and they are not doing many things to help themselves I am afraid. But then again, I have seen this at the other two as well in the past and they are still growing. They must be doing something right. I'm the dumbass that thought Soul Fish would never make it, so... don't forget Adam. The workers are very pleasant, all seem to be Filipinos in the FOH, maybe since that's the basis of the concept. They are super nice but there can be a small language and cultural barrier when communicating with them. It's pretty low key inside. They have minimal decorations and did not much more than paint the place on the remodel. The chairs are uncomfortable, especially loud when they hit the floor, and oddly light. Why I think they may be in trouble... The front door is permanently closed. The other door had a closed sign on it twice when I have been there. The last visit the staff disappeared into a closet and two people came in and stood there alone. A guy that didn't speak English came up front and the customers asked, "are you open"? Additionally, the one side I found I liked here at the chain is different at this location. The onion rings are terrible here. They are crappy panko versions that get soggy and nasty really fast. The prices have skyrocketed at this location as well. Since last time I was here the 3 pc combo had increased 25% from the prior visit. That's an insane increase! On top of that, the website doesn't work and the pics they posted on Yelp themselves show the old prices still. Hate that mess!! Love this fried chicken but probably done with this location. I do still love the chicken. I'm done with the combos because the sides are all absolute trash, and the cookies suck too! They always have. Never eaten more than a bite of one. Only chicken for me from here on out. '25 - 116/111

Even after I ordered and was sitting there waiting, a few different people asked me if I was taken care of. I'd go back just for the hospitality. The wings were out of this world delicious! They were cooked perfectly and were cooked whole like the old days. I ordered 5 wings with a drink and fries (I chose sour cream and onion) and everything was delicious. I had a side of Memphis Hot for dipping and it paired will with the cajun dry rub (which had a nice kick to it as well). I mean look at those things! Seriously, look! They were starting to clean up a bit as it was close to closing time, but assured me I didn't have to rush. Great wings, Great Service and Great locations (in proximity to my hotel, anyway).

Shoutout to the security guard at the door who was more than just friendly--he was the hype man! He told us the food and drinks were on point, and he was not lying. Honestly, he deserves part of the tip because everything he said was facts. Drinks: Let me tell you--Amy and Yasmin behind the bar did their thing! The cocktails were packed with flavor. I tried the Main Street Marg and the Bad & Boozy, and both were perfectly balanced. The drinks alone are worth the visit. (See drink pics & menu for the full cocktail list!) Food Highlights: Wings (4 flavors): We ordered Cajun, hot, lemon pepper, and jerk. Each flavor hit differently but equally delicious. Fried Catfish & Grits with Gouda: Creamy grits paired with seasoned shrimp and gravy--Southern comfort at its finest. Now $24 bucks it should be at least two piece catfish or large one piece. Fried Okra: Crispy and tasty, though slightly over-fried for my taste. (Peep the food boards and that creamy shrimp & grits plate--chef's kiss!) Decor & Atmosphere: From the murals to the portraits of legends like MLK and Otis Redding, the space was visually inviting and warm. The open kitchen and moody lighting added to the vibe without feeling too dark. (See the artwork, dining setup, and the golden kitchen lighting in pics.) Pro Tip: They close at 9 PM--even on Saturdays. So don't wait too late to pull up! Overall, Crazy Coop lives up to the name--in the best way. Great food. Great drinks. Great people. Can't wait to come back!

Wait staff was nice but very hurried. The biggest complaint was the food portions. The portions were small but the price was equivalent to what I would pay somewhere else for twice the food. As soon as you're seated, you'll have a tempting signboard presented at your table with every southern classic you can imagine. With entrees like fried chicken and catfish, endless sides like turnip greens, white beans, and just about anything you can imagine fried, and every kind of southern pie, it's all there. The catfish is magnificent, with that wonderfully gritty cornmeal batter surrounding flaky, tender fish. The complimentary roll is also delicious! And the servers are very nice here! But there are some downsides. The fried okra, my favorite southern side dish, is actually soft and soggy. No self respecting southerner would ever make soggy fried okra. It's about the worst I ever had. And the onion rings, which are hard to mess up, were burnt black and lacked flavor. They were inedible. The cashier is rude and doesn't have time for "thank you" or small talk or a smile or even giving you your receipt when nobody else is in line to pay their bill. That's just how it is. If you want good catfish, Sling Shot Charlie's will come through. But if you want a southern culinary experience that's enjoyable, there are much better places to have it!

I didn't notice a phone number on here or thru google, so it was a bit of a bummer to not be able to order ahead. However, I think I only waited about 10 mins for my somewhat large order once I placed it. My family and I shared 2 of the 8 piece tender combos. We were impressed with just how large the tenders are. You're definitely getting your money's worth. I think my family of 5 could've actually shared the 12 piece combo, coz we have plenty left over. The chicken reminds me a lot of Gus's in the way that it's cooked, but the flavor is definitely different. I wouldn't say it's bursting with flavor, but there are definitely some unique spices. The chicken is SO juicy, and it's not spicy, so it's easy for kids to eat. The fries are really good too--nice and crispy. It's a really small spot, so while there's tables to sit and eat, maybe not so much for a huge crowd. I wanted to include some pix of the menu, coz prices have gone up since the last ones were posted.
