I was in the Ozarks for work and I tell you what, as beautiful as these mountains or better yet…read moremountainous plateaus are, they're not for me lol. I'm a straight up city chick and I love flat country. Driving in the depths of these mountainous areas gave me a new perspective on life. I came to learn that the Ozarks are not really mountains but are a highland region consisting of plateaus, rolling hills, and karst formations. While the Ozarks are not technically mountains, one slip of the wheel on these narrow roads will surely send someone to glory. I stopped a few times along the way before coming here to decompress and fuel up. I had a longer ride higher into the Ozarks. The morning cashier was so friendly and helpful, she spoke to everyone and said to all, "have a blessed day." Because I never been in the Ozarks before and I will never be returning, I decided to try a few of the locals preserves. I really enjoy the old way of life...now almost everything is genetically modified. Surprisingly, the store has Chester's chicken in there. Restrooms were clean and the store was stocked with beverages, snacks and other amenities for the drive. I would recommend folks take a break here and try out some of the locals' crafts. After all, Arkansas is called the "natural state."

I enjoy looking through the section of homemade jams, candies, etc. Their hot and fresh warm foods are always good for what we've tried so far: fried chicken, potato wedges, and chicken gizzards. The same lady has been working the counter the past two years we've been traveling this route, and she's always so friendly.

100% okay with the slightly over 2-hour ride. Couldn't be more hidden. Yet still a full parking lot…read morewhen we arrived. This small building is about 130 years old, and the there's a modernized 1890's vibe here, playing 1970's music overhead. I'm not sure what I liked better: my bacon cheeseburger or my slice of chocolate pie. The burger was two (seemingly) mini meatloaves, perfectly seasoned, topped with fresh lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles. The cheese was bubbly. I found the bun somewhat weak for the job it was trying to hold together. Collapsed into itself at one point. The bacon was fine (isn't it always!), but just not my favorite. The home-made fries were potatoey perfection. My grandmother passed around 1982. If she were still here, I'd be forced to tell her someone makes a better chocolate pie than her. At least I avoided the cussing and getting walloped by a broom. The crust was buttery and of perfect firmness. The chocolate cream was covered in heavenly whipped cream, I assume homemade. Will absolutely be coming back in the Fall, for the leaf show. And a burger. And that pie. Great staff also. Very welcoming, including the owner.

I detoured to come here and am glad I did. It's the smallest of places, but there's a huge dining…read morearea and a small general store. I picked up a jar of local sorgum molasses for my detour troubles. Be aware they close at 4 and it didn't appear to be grab and go food service. That's ok...there's always a future time to come by and stay a while. The local library has a book drop and book lockers for community convenience. Super cute!

For the other, the weight on the tube appeared greater than the actual content in the tube. This was a Walgreens house brand product. This makes me wonder if Walgreens has a record of deceptive pricing or if others have noticed this about Walgreens, or if there is informal buzz and discussion about this that specifically mentions Walgreens. So, I asked ChatGPT, using the passage above as the prompt. Here is what ChatGPT said: While I can't provide real-time or up-to-date information about specific incidents at Walgreens, I can offer some general advice on how to address your concerns: Contact Walgreens: If you believe you've encountered deceptive pricing practices at Walgreens, it's a good idea to reach out to the store directly. You can speak to the store manager or customer service and express your concerns. They may be able to address the issues you encountered and provide an explanation. Check Reviews and Forums: You can search for consumer reviews and forums online to see if others have had similar experiences at Walgreens or have discussed pricing issues.
