I had seen a flyer for Jordasche Kingston Delights on a telephone pole several times as I was walking up Dimond Avenue to the park. One Friday my wife and I both had to work later than usual so we decided to give Jordasche's food a try. My review will be a lot like the others. They're not lying, Jordasche Kingston is an incredible cook. At this point, we've had numerous items from her, and the only surprise is 'Just how incredibly delicious is it going to be this time?' That first night we ordered, she was serving a Cajun Catfish casserole. DELICIOUS. Very, very flavorful. The catfish was by far the best both my wife and I have ever had in our lives. The mushrooms, onions, and potatoes were cooked and seasoned perfectly. It came with a beautiful, deluxe salad. (Note: Never in my life have I described a salad as 'beautiful', but this salad was photo worthy) The home-made cranberry salad dressing was killer.
Based on that, we decided to go with her weekly deal of 5 nightly dinners for 2 people for $60 that next week. She started us off with a garlic-y shrimp and spinach fettuccine. It was extremely good. The pasta, mushrooms, spinach, and shrimp were all cooked perfectly, and the seasoning was fantastic.
Tuesday, we had her Vodka Penne pasta with chicken. It was so good, we actually came back and ordered a third plate (and she gives big portions) to take for lunch the next day. Not only did it have chicken, but it also had two different colored bell peppers, mushrooms, and onion. Beautiful presentation, again, and extremely good! Pasta lovers must have!
Wednesday, we had Meatloaf with Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes and baked asparagus. The meatloaf was easily the best meatloaf I have ever tasted in my entire life. Very deluxe with mushrooms, bell peppers, onion, and shredded carrot. The mashed potatoes were the best we've ever had as well. They were extremely creamy, and very flavorful. The most flavorful mashed potatoes I've ever had actually. The asparagus was cooked perfectly, and very well seasoned.
Thursday, we had her Cajun Chicken Alfredo. Not much to say about it except it was delicious. That's an understatement, I can't think of a bigger word right now. I could eat it for days on end. It was very, very, good. The pasta and chicken were cooked and seasoned perfectly and it was oh so creamy. Another pasta lovers must have!
Friday, she served us this Chicken and Turmeric rice bowl. Again, it was absolutely delicious. By far the best rice bowl I've ever had in my life. The chicken, veggies, and rice were cooked perfectly, and the seasoning was outstanding.
Outside of the weekly deal, we've had her sandwiches and soups. Both are the best we have ever had. Jordasche's soups are loaded with depth and flavor that most cannot live up to. My favorite is her taco soup, my wife loves the taco soup, but her favorite is her beef chowder (my second favorite). Jordasche's sandwiches are extraordinary. I didn't know a sandwich could be so good. My two favorites are the corned beef and pastrami sandwich.
We've also had her fried egg sandwich which is to die for. If you haven't had one, you really must try it. Pure heaven for only $3. Everything about it is perfect. Breakfast bowls are excellent.
Why we would ever cook for ourselves again after that if we didn't have to is beyond me. If we could hire Jordasche Kingston to be our private cook all year round, believe me, we would!!! We LOVE what she delivers, and will most certainly be ordering again and again. read more
