He belittled me and talked down to me, saying,"you used to be a fighter, now I don't know who u are." He commented on my weight, and I left in tears. As if I didn't have enough to deal with. He made me feel like a piece of shit. Recently I went back, only because I was in so much pain and he was the only one I could get an emergency appt with. A walk in. He commented I hadn't been there in years, he wasn't nice at all. Not like he used to be. He was very short with me and made me feel I was a nuisance for being there. I lost 80 lbs, but he didn't comment. Only when I had gained weight. He stuck his elbows in the cheeks of my ass and buried them in my sciatica nerves. I yelled and cried. He said," yeah, I bet that hurts." I left there in tears, paid almost $100 bucks, in more pain and felt like a piece of shit because he apparently was having a bad day, or year or whatever. I have been to my regular chiropractor to fix the problems this man has caused. I feel he's lost his bedside manor over the years. He's not a nice person, and needs to not be in practice any more. And if you're reading g this spina, I'm amazing. I work hard, I'm not a piece of shit, and fuck u for Making me feel so, and for screwing up my back even more. I have been to several neurologists and a neuro-opthamologist along with a neurosurgeon who did not understand how the upper cervical spine could be causing my symptoms and that I did not have intracranial hypertension, but none of them did an upright MRI with flex/ext or imaging that looked in this area. I was made to feel like it was all in my head and that I just needed an antidepressant. I am tired of being dismissed by doctors who don't understand this complex area of the body and how it relates to your brain/body function. I don't feel the neurology group is serving their patients since they cannot find or explain their symptoms they are put into a catch all diagnosis of function neurological disorder. I was in a horrible motorcycle accident and broke over 20 bones quite horribly. I had several non-unions and was in crutches/assisted living medical devices over half the year. I didn't want to go through with my umpteenth surgery as a mother to a young child which would leave me debilitated for 6 months or longer. I rolled the dice and saw her. During my first appointment, she did applied kinesiology to find my weaknesses and an herbal remedy to address them. I admit, I was skeptical but in reality, what did I have to lose? I took what she gave me as directed and my pain levels dropped 50%. The second appointment, she addressed any dietary inflammation and issues I had. Her advice was to discontinue some foods and it was very restrictive, I admit, but I did it and that cut my pain at least 25%, stopped my extremely horrible heartburn, and regulated my digestion immensely. Problems I've had for 20 years were resolved by following her suggestions for 4 weeks. She continues to work with me on other more minor issues and solves them immediately and without fault. Not only does she solve my health issues (even stopping UTI's and relieving colds/flu), she educates me in every appointment. I learn something new each time I see her and have a deeper understanding of my body and how it functions. I have been to him a number of times over a year ago while I was suffering with shoulder pressure and massages just wasn't doing it. While I was skeptical of acupuncture therapy, out of desperation, I gave it a try. Within two minutes of introducing myself, he beat me to it pointing out where my pain was and talked me through his remedy plan. Within just a visit or two, I began to feel the lightening up of pressure and after a few more visits, there was no reason to go back, I was healed. Fast forward a year plus later, I pulled out my lower back so bad from either moving furniture or picking up my 10 year old (like he was 10 months old); it was so bad that I was hunched over and could barely take a step or two. I thought a day or two of laying off coupled with a mineral bath would help since I am pretty healthy (practice regular yoga) but to no avail, the pain was not subsiding. On that Monday, I called his office to make an appointment, leaving a voice mail. I soon got a call back from Doctor Lictenstein himself that he was off today but would be glad to come in to the office to help me. I was shocked, in this day and age of automation and structured mentalities that he would be so willing and kind to flex for me; especially that I would not consider myself a regular patient. He was so patient and explained to me what was going on inside my body and how he would help me this time starting with chiropractor therapy and if need be acupuncture to follow. After the adjustment and chiro therapy, I felt slightly better so it was clear that I still needed some help to relieve the discomfort and that is when the magic happened. I explained though that I needed to leave to pick up my kids and he promised me with just ten more minutes it would be worth the stay. Using some needles (tiny ones that I was able to leave with - hello so busy mommy friendly), he gently pierced my lobes in target spots that messaged to pain centers in my brain. After each shot (5-8), he told me to walk around and see if I notice a difference. The best way to explain this magic is brilliant kind voodoo to go; like a doggy bag of fine food the next day. So in sum, not only is Dr. Lictenstein a master of his craft, but he is passionate about what he does, kind, flexible, and totally customer centric - a refreshing escape from big box modern medicine I have experienced otherwise these days.
