Been coming here for years and it's our favorite Mexican spot. The fajitas and Tex Mex plate are 10/10. Service is always solid, atmosphere is great (live music on weekends) overall a great spot. The food was so delicious. I ordered two cheese enchiladas with sour cream sauce, rice and beans but I don't eat the little salad that comes with it so I set it to the side. We're regular customers at Jorge's. Food was very good. Except for the brownie. Very dry. Too dry to eat. Told the waitress at the bar. Still charged for it. Had a premium margarita. Ended up being $20.00. After all these years of being a regular patron we will not be going back. I will go back to Abuelos. $66.00 for one person to eat and have 2 drinks is outrageous. Took the family here right after church. Place was hopping, but they have a good system. We only waited like 7-10 minutes for a table. We were seated, chips and salsa at the ready. Chips are made with corn, so any folks with gluten issues should be good. Restaurant had a good noise level, so not too quiet (I like this since I have kids). Im sure during sporting events this is a great place to go. Food came pretty quickly. Food was average, however, portions were average to small for the price. Taco shells are ones you can get in the store. Would I come here again with the family? Most likely not, unless we were in a pinch. read more

While visiting Amarillo for work, I reached out to a college buddy who has lived in Amarillo for restaurant recommendations and Jorge's was at the top of his list. When I arrived the restaurant was very busy but I was able to get a table with my coworker. We were served fresh, warm tortilla chips and fresh salsa, which were delicious. Our waitress was very kind and was prompt with our food and drinks. I ordered the Carne Asada and my coworker had a Chicken Enchilada. We both could only eat half of our meals because we filled up on chips and salsa but the food was delicious, perfectly seasoned, and filling. I will definitely be back. Always love the food, atmosphere, and friendly wait staff every time we go. We recently went and my wife had the Spinich enchilada with the sour cream poblano sauce and I had the chili relleno with the sour cream poblano sauce. This sauce is the best I've ever had and since having it we put on everything that has a sauce. The salsa is very good and the staff are great at keeping the bowl replenished! The hot sauce and chips were yummy, but the steak fajitas were mediocre. Not much food for the money. The service was good.

This is a good Mexican restaurant in a town saturated with mexican food. When every street has taquerias down them this is a better option. The relleno is breaded nicely and stuffed well, albeit a little too crunchy. The stuffed avocado is very good with the right breading and more stuffing than you'd imagine. The green sauce is a huge disappointment, normally my go-to at a Mexican restaurant this sauce had way too much lime. I judge a restaurant in their beans and these beans are okay, they aren't amazing but there is nothing necessarily wrong with them they just aren't set apart from the herd. The fajita enchiladas have good fajita meat that holds a strong flavor, as for the enchiladas themself they aren't anything to write home about but are absolutely not to be laughed at. read more

May be a long time before I go back there. There are other Mexican food restaurants in Amarillo that are better choices. The back room where we sat was all hardscape and made things very loud though not many table were full. The Chicken tortilla soup came with about 2 tablespoons worth of soup and the beef in the fajitas was tough and gristly. Lastly I believe our tip that was left i cash was scooped up by some other employee other than the waitress that served us. This girl came and took it and I saw her give the cash to the bus boy an he slipped it in his apron. That was mind bending!!! That did not set well with me. As a non drinker I can tell immediately if a margarita is weak or is light on the tequila. This is the best Mexican food in Amarillo that we have found. We drive through town at least four times a year and have tried a lot of different restaurants there. They have great margaritas, chips and salsa, everything on down the list, you really can't go wrong. Portion sizes are generous and prices are reasonable. read more

You're much better off eating at Taco Bell. Horrible "Mexican" food. The red enchilada sauce tasted like sludge from a Mumbai cesspool. It was drenched in cumin and according to the waitress its because we're from New Mexico. The waitress and the manager need to take a trip to Mexico to taste what real enchiladas are like and stop this charade of this Indian curry tasting cesspool looking like "food." Probably some of the best Tex Mex I've ever had. This restaurant is well staffed and after my third visit, I've yet to have a meal that disappointed me. The only thing I regret is not ordering the queso on the first two visits. I rate this restaurant a five star because that's the highest rating I can go. Stopped by while visiting Palo Duro Canyon. We were immediately seated and served drinks. The salsa/chips were very good. My husband ordered tacos with beef and sausage, enchiladas for myself and chicken tacos for the kids.
