Everyone is always nice when I go to the palatine one. Been going there for years, but they need to get rid of their 4 day diet. I've been on it for 2 days. Doing research. This is not for if you want quick but expect to gain it back. Like a wedding or occasion or something. Same with the soup diet. any diet that gives you great weight-loss in such little time. I've studied diets for a long time by nature since high school. I'm average weight. Just do a regular diet, whatever works for you. High protein or their regular diet. Exercise is a must. The pricing is THE BEST amongst all weight clinics, their prices has not changed at all and back then, the medication was of great quality. The entire concept of this place is shady, and yes, the irony that I was here is not lost on me. The place is PACKED to the wall 24/7. Unless you get there right on the dot at opening, plan on sitting there for at least 2 hours before they call your name. There's no way around it. Customer service is terrible, the staff is either overwhelmed, disinterested, or a combination of the two. The interior is dirty, carpeting is stained. As a medical professional, there was very little screening done to rule out health conditions. People with cardiac conditions, etc, should not be on these medications. The supplements that they give you to go along with the weight-loss medication can be dangerous if not taken correctly. Yes, it is given to you on the form and it states it there, but no one went over it with me in person. The majority of people inside of there seem to be desperate to lose weight, and preying on people who may not have the health literacy to realize the potential these powerful medications can have on their body is not ethical to me I walked. read more

Drove 1.5 hours on Tuesday January 2nd and I show up at 8:30 to find all lights off and the place closed. There were about ten women who arrived within the 5 minutes I was there and everyone was upset and drove far to come today. This place should first of all get a good website because only vista print comes up, secondly they should at least leave a pre recorded message saying that on Tuesday the day after New Years they will be closed! So I'm not overweight, but I've been trying to lose 5-10lbs and it is impossible! I eat a good diet 90% of the time. I usually exercise 4 days a week and nada. This stubborn belly fat won't go away unless I starve myself. Which I can't since I love food and I'm always hungry. I was out with a friend and she told me about these pills that she is taking to lose weight. She told me that they worked great and that she has lost about 7lbs in 3 weeks. the office is dirty, dingy, smells like urine, stained ripped up carpet and hasnt been updated since the 80's, not even sure the staff has degrees to be giving medical advice and injections and the dr. reminds you of someone off of a horror movie. the place is always packed so i know there making a fortune to be able to either remodel or move to a more updated location. the pills do work and there are not alot of other places to get them and thats how this place even stays in business because the office is horrific. any other medical facility that looked like this would have went out of business. read more

I have been going for the past 6 years and it is a great place, the staff is always nice and very good customer service, so far I have lost 40 pounds with what they gave me of the pills, vitamin B shot and also some forms of giving you some ideas of what to eat and what not to eat and a daily diet plan, making sure you drink 6-8 cups of water per day, it has helped me a lot. since every body is different certain things might not work for some, maybe you might not see results quick but be patient and follow what they say and it will work, trust me I never thought I would have the ability and mind power to loose it but I did! Let me level set this. I'm a fan of the results - that is ALL. I can't speak to the new location in Palatine but I've been going to the Oak Brook center for about three months. Not to be a school snob but if you have ever wondered where Everest and Westwood graduates work...well, they work at the Jorie Weight Loss Center. Yes, they are all very nice but I'm not entirely confident in their knowledge level, skill set or handling of bio hazardous materials. But this isn't a review of me :) That's another day, another forum. I would not call any of the people who work their a nurse. They are more like office assistants/admins. For several reasons - too many to list here however the the most concerning is their lack of dietary/nutrional knowledge and lack of knowledge about the drug prescribed and potential side effects. They will respond somewhat scripted but that is the depth of their knowledge. I would say that 100% of what they will read to you, you more than likely have read on other sites such as zonediet.com, southbeachdiet.com and atkins.com because they support the no-low carb diet approach coupled with exercise and their medication. The doctor's do have dreadful bedside manners. They're literally cycling people in and out. It is always packed like a Walmart on black Friday. Yes, there is seating in the wait area for 70-100 people. If it is busy enough, they will have 2 patients in an examination room while protected health information is being discussed. The wait time is usually less than 10 minutes because the office assistants are somewhat efficient in getting you in and out. I personally would caution anyone considering this place to let your primary care physician know what drug they have prescribed for you. There is absolutely no medical oversight on how long you've been on the medication OR diet and exercise effort. My guess is that within the next year or so, this place will be closed because either someone will get sick and die on the medication OR some iTeam type investigation will uncover a multitude of health code violations up to and including folks improperly licensed and/or trained. Until then, I'm thrilled with my weight loss and love the B-12 shots! read more

About 3 years back I went on the phentermine pills prescribed by my doctor and through my insurance I paid $5 a month for the 37.5 mg tablets and lost 50 pounds. Now 3 years later, I have gained about 30 of it back due to stress, poor diet, and lack of working out. I originally came to this center about 2 years ago when I started to gain the weight back. On my first visit I met with a doctor who didn't think I really needed to lose weight. They did tell me that I needed to get them results to a recent blood test because of the health risks associated with taking the pills (which makes sense). So after taking the pills for about 4 months I was right back to where I wanted to be. Since then I go back about once or twice a year thinking that getting a 2 month supply will be OK. You need to stick to it for a good couple of months. I do opt out of the shots as I am not sure how my body would react to them. Also, before going here, PLEASE do your homework on the medicine. Thankfully since my first time was through my general practitioner I was aware of the side effects that would happen within the first few weeks (dry mouth, anxiousness, insomnia). It will get better after a week or so I promise! Only reason I do give the 3 stars is because the price is crazy. For a 2 month supply of the 37.5mg tablets I pay $150 (compared to the $5 a month through insurance). On a side note - most GP's don't like prescribing these pills so that's why I don't go through them. The location is easy to find but it is outrageously busy in this office. I do always wait at LEAST a half hour before being seen for a few minutes. The nurses are nice and understanding and I do like that I can come back whenever I feel that it works for me. They don't get upset if I miss a few months in between, it's my own pace (plus I don't have to see a doctor anymore after my first visit). read more

My first visit to this business was a week ago. They were rather business to my standards and was about 20 minutes before I was called back. Talked with a medical assistant (I think) she got my vitals (barely checked my bp) and went over a few things. She described a little about what to eat, gave me a B12 shot and took me to wait for the doctor. I didnt have to wait longer than 2 minutes to see him. He had really no small talk and sounded very much like a record. I wouldn't say terrible bed side manners but not great. He wrote the information that he needed to and sent me out. Found my own way to the check out and had to wait because their credit card machine was down. Once it was working again very quick check out, was given the pills and out the door. Now in the one week I have lost 8 lbs. Which is awesome!! I have to force myself to eat and when I do its very little. I think the B12 gave me the headache I had about 30 minutes after I left there. I can't wait to see what a full month will be as in turn of pounds lost. I do recommend going there if you need to loose weight. read more

This place was a joke, went here last Saturday March 14th as a new patient. They told me the wait was going to be 2 hours...I was optimistic and assumed it would be relatively quick...I was wrong. 2 hours and 20 minutes later my name was finally called. The medical assistant weighed me and gave me a b-12 shot immediately! No questions/nothing. She then informed me that I would need to speak to the nurse...another 20 minutes, finally when I went in they told me that since i had already been to another weight loss place before...there was nothing they could do there. I told her I waited for well over 2 hours and finally she gave me 15mg pills. I walked out and staff flew by...nobody could tell me anything! The kicker...I finally find the cashier and the bill was $65!! Such a rip off and seriously the worst nurse I have ever talked to in my entire life! this place is bad news. read more

Just to start, this is a SKETCHY CLINIC!!!!!! but i gave it a try cause the reviews looked like was easy to get these pills, which it is. once you get there you fill out a new patient form then you get called in and immediately you are given the interpretation of getting the pills (like i said this is super easy). As they are taking your weight, height and blood pressure they are explaining to you the instruction of the pill, how to take it, your meals and possible side effects, etc. They even offer an optional shot ( crazy and super sketched). just don't mention that you drink and use cannabis cause then you will be denied. So basically anybody qualifies. I Did get to meet their doctor (if you can even call her one LOL) basically denied with out a reason when asked obviously showed sign of being judgmental and rude. She obviously does not practice ethical behavior with her patients.
