I walk in on Monday about 1:00 wearing dress casual clothes like they carry. There appeared to be two people working and two customers. I wandered the store for about fifteen minutes looking at casual pants, shirts and shoes. I was not greeted when I entered the store. I was not greeted when I entered the store. In my time in the store, no one ever acknowledged my presence. I left without a purchase and don't plan to return. read more

One thing I've learned working & dealing with customer service is that employees can be overtly judgmental, especially when it comes to outer appearance of a customer. I'll start by saying that the gentleman I dealt with was friendly. I do not feel as if he heeded what I wanted for a suit & more so pushed his own agenda and recommendations, without me getting much of a word in. Quickly dismissing me and my needs and jumping straight to other stores I could shop at. After a distasteful look of me, up and down and verbatim saying "I know times are rough" and assuming I couldn't afford a suit, that alone was disgusting and a turn off from wanting to do business with this location ever again. Mind you, he never asked what my budget was (which is upwards $1000) cause it's for my own wedding. I'm more than willing to drop a bag for my big day, but again, questions weren't asked and assumptions were made. All I'm saying is, first impressions mean a lot and his was piss poor. read more

Bernard & Kevin are great! Bernard went the extra mile to make sure my fit was correct. Excellent experience. My fitting was related to a wedding party. I'm not the easiest person to fit. I made an appointment and came in without a ton of knowledge in the formal wear space, and he talked me through options for the type of event I was going to and helped me get ready to look great without breaking the bank. Thank you very much to David Nelson. I arrived in town on short notice for my mother's funeral and was in need of proper clothing. Recent changes in body shape and new medical issues made my own clothing obsolete. Finding an appropriate outfit (including shoes) was a high stressor but David was outstanding. He talked to me about my concerns as well as preferences and fit me in a coat, shirts , slacks and shoes that are stylish and functional. My greatest concern prior to the funeral became a calming and even enjoyable experience. He even measured me and directed me to a tailor who had me ready in time for the service. I have been going to Jos A Banks for the last few years for my husband. We typically go to the location in Atlantic Station & have been pretty happy with their service. I recently went to the location off Akers Mill since it is much closer to our house. I was looking for a particular coat that I saw online for my husband. I probably walked around the entire store 3 times looking for the coat... and not once was I greeted or asked if I needed assistance. I was so put off by this & left. The next week, I decided to give it another shot... same exact experience. No customer service at all!! So, I decided to drive to the Atlantic Station location & gave them my business instead & will continue to do so. As soon as I walked in to the Atlantic Station location, I was greeted by 2 of their associates & they helped me with the purchase. It's a shame that someone has to drive about 15 minutes out of their way to get decent service from Jos A Banks. read more

Read all of the bad reviews on Yelp and Google and decided to still give it a try because it is close to my work. I walked in and one salesman was standing by the cash register. I was the only one in there and I said hi to him and he did respond back and say hi. Then I walked around the store and he never moved. The store just opened 10 minutes earlier and I was the only customer in the store and most likely the only one since they opened. I found a shirt balled up on the floor, shirt tags everywhere, and a lot of the folded shirts were extremely messy. I was coming here to buy a suit for my wedding and to get a second suit for another wedding that I am in. To me this is an extremely large purchase and it makes me very nervous. To see a store with this kind of customer service immediately makes me never wish to come back here again. I will go to the mall or possibly drive to a much farther away Jos A Bank location. read more
