I would just say go to a different location. We have had much better experiences at other locations. Didn't find the salespeople here to be helpful and I would say almost rude. We were planning to buy several items but after dealing with the guy, we bought the minimal things we needed and decided to go somewhere else. I watched another salesperson audibly sigh and roll his eyes when another customer asked to try on a shirt that was folded. This isn't my kind of place. I didn't know until recently that shirts like this actually had sizes beyond S/M/L+ and so I made the trip into this location knowing one thing - the color of shirt I needed. No joke - it took me longer to get there than it did to be properly sized, and presented with the selections they had in stock. I went in needing one shirt, walked out with two and wanted, oddly to come back for more. Great job by the staff for making it seem effortless. read more

The employees are the best. I procrastinated on getting a suit for a wedding until 5 hours before leaving town they were able to get me a tailored suit before leaving. I've gone to Jos A Bank for about 5 years now. They are legendary for their sales and I would recommend only going when they have a big sale going on. Otherwise they are nice, but pricey. A couple times a year they will have a 50-70% off sale and may even allow an additional discount for "preferred customers". This is when you should go! I'm a binge shopper in that I don't go for a year or so and then go and buy everything in the store (like buying every bow tie & handkerchief color they have on my last visit). Then again I do that when I can get 2-4 for the price of 1 and then I feel a little more justified. They had $50-75.00 ties marked down to $15 a couple years ago so I bought 12! It's like my wife coming in to tell me how much she saved me today by spending an insane amount of money... Sometimes you hit the jackpot and just need to revel in the experience! HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!! I met the store manager and what a disappointment. His name is Kenneth and he thought it would be appropriate to mumble under his breathe as I left the store. When confronted on his comment he decides to demonstrate to his employees - that he sadly manages, how to treat a customer. His demeanor and tone from the beginning of our interaction was tenth-rate. I quickly saw the difference the moment I stated that I was making a return. He was Dismissive and didn't make any eye contact as if I was least important due to the reason i was there. He claims I snatched a receipt from him and that I was the offender. Then he makes matters worse by trying to intimidate me by approaching me and walking into my space and stating that we should handle this "like men". I referred back to his lack of customer service and he continued being belligerent and telling me that he didn't work for me. It's sad that the art of customer service is being lost. They tell me about how I need to ship it back on my own and make me feel guilty for having them do it. Guess what management! What I found was some of the best customer service around from the head manager, (so sad to find he has left). I'd recommend staying away from this location, especially if there's any chance you might want to return something. I attempted to return an unworn shirt and was denied because it had been 'opened'. This despite the fact it was opened before I purchased it to confirm the fit. My main issue is not the policy, although it was frustrating to have to drive to the Galleria to return the item (which I did successfully). It's being treated badly by the Store Manager, who was unapologetically rude from the beginning to the end if our interaction. It's a strange time in the world of brick-and-mortar retail to choose to treat (former) repeat customers rudely. Good luck with that. read more

These guys are legit lifesavers. I had a sort of suit emergency. Yesterday at a wedding, my zipper snagged, and a tooth broke off while I was in the mens room. Lo and behold I now found myself with a wide open zipper and no fix in sight. In a bit of panic I called and asked if they did "emergency tailoring" and like the lifesavers they are, they do. Having no spare pants because I was wearing the ones that needed attention, they gave me a pair of shorts to wear, and Luis stitched my zipper and got the slider back on track, and my pants were good as new - all in under 30 minutes. I even got back just in time to grab a beer and not miss any of the reception. This place has won my business and I'll never go elsewhere for suits and tailoring again. Thank you!!! read more

Decided to write a review in the interests of helping a business that would not otherwise know how they lost a customer. Bought a $75 reversible belt here, on July 9 (about two months ago); it had started to fall apart at the buckle, even though barely used; took it in to the store where I bought it...asked if it could be repaired, nope; asked if it was covered by a warranty, nope; asked to confirm when it was bought, yep-two months ago. No offer by the store to replace it; no offer to discount the price of the replacement; just had to buy another one for $75. Sales person was polite--just following policy, I assume. Not particularly big dollars involved; I can afford the replacement belt. And I don't assume a poor quality belt means the rest of the merchandise is of poor quality. But IMO that's not the right way to treat long term customers (or first-time customers, for that matter). Am done with Jos. A. Bank. read more

Store workers were extremely rude. I picked up an alternative size for my husband in the dressing room when a worker approached me and said "no no. We're not doing that. We are not going to continue trying on shirts." And took them from me. My husband had only tried on 4 shirts to this point and we planned to buy all of them and more. The worker offered to grab me a sample to try on, but then realized they didn't have one even remotely close to what we wanted to try on. I said "we can't buy these without trying it on." He said "ok we aren't doing this anymore." At this point, the manager approached and tried to explain their inventory rules and why. I asked to please try on one shirt and they said no, so we left without giving them any business. I've never been talked to with this tone at a store where I intended to give my business. I'm not really sure which location I should review, but we've been to this one several times, the one in HPV, and one in Chicago and they have all been fantastic. As Eric says, their regularly priced merch is pretty spendy. But it seems like they are ALWAYS having some kind of awesome sale. Sometimes hubby can go in and buy a sportcoat, and get another sportcoat...and some sweaters...and some ties...for free!! Or buy one suit, get one free, plus some dress shirts and socks. One time they mailed us a coupon for $75 off any purchase. No minimum...so he could essentially get something priced at $75 free without having to buy anything else! Definitely worth it for the men in your life...we're usually in and out because the dudes who work there always seem to magically pick out the perfect looking suit on the first try. Now they just need to open a store for women and they'll get 6 stars!! read more

We Didn't catch the name of the older woman that sounds like she has emphysema, as she was too busy standing around to do anything in the way of assisting us (when told specifically what we were looking for) other than point, but I did manage to catch her coworker calling an exiting customer an ass. I would not recommend going to this location especially for returns. I had to buy a suit for my best friends funeral. . The store I purchased from(not this one) was kind and helpful late very late at night. I came to this store to return it. The manager was standing at the front door. He was immediately rude to me and assumed I had just worn and returned it so scam the store. The tags were off from the last store sizing the suit for me. When I said I'd go somewhere else he lied and said the other locations are closed. I called and they were most certainly not closed. It was hard enough having to bury a my friend but to come in and ask for just genuine decency was out of the question. Just had an inexcusably horrible experience at the Preston Center store. Have shopped there for all the men in my life for more than 30 years and have spent thousands of dollars there over the years. Took my 22 year old son today to get a new suit for work as a college graduation present. Some of the staff who have been there for years greeted us, but the new manager stepped in. Awful and on a mission to rip off customers and not honor their highly promoted standard discounts. We noticed the customer before us was also having a bad experience with the new manager. My boyfriend requested charcoal, navy, and black dress pants. Even with the brightness of a thousand suns, all 3 pairs look black. That being said, I'm sure this is a fault on the manufacturing end. However, the sales associates need to bring attention to the lack of range in these colors. They did not offer alternatives to the specific pants provided, and now my boyfriend is stuck with a wide variety of black pants. read more

I have read a few nightmare tux rental reviews for several business and locations and I always wondered if maybe it is the same tux clearing houses they all use that causes the problems (like with dry cleaners). That said, I needed to rent a tux on only three days notice last week for a charity gala. The gentleman at the NW Hwy & Preston location in Dallas didn't hesitate to say, "come in and we'll get you taken care of." All went well until the day of the event when I came to pick up the tux and it wasn't there! Everyone makes mistakes...good and bad companies alike. It is HOW they handle the mistake that sets them apart. In this case, they turned the place inside out looking for the tux and could not find it. One employee swore he saw it with my name and knew exactly where it was hung, but suspected maybe it was given to the wrong person (who I am sure was going to figure it out soon enough!). Finally after about 10 minutes of looking, Keith, the store manager, said to his team, "we promised this man a tux, let's get him a tux." They went to their own racks and began putting together a very nice tux - nicer than the one I was to rent - except it was all brand new, down to the vest, shirt, bow tie, shoes, and $100 cuff links! Their tailor took measurements, marked up the clothing, and had me come back in only two hours. Everything was ready to go as promised! Again, everyone makes mistakes. It's how hard they work to make them right that counts and this will make it easy for me to continue taking my business to them. read more

I got no help for my wedding suit purchase and switched stores because the other store was actually helping me and my groomsmen out and this manager on NW Highway berated me and the store I switched to- talking about how my man who actually helped me out has terrible customer service and he is going to get him fired? and how the store I switched to was trying to steal this stores sales? Man, this store just wanted its sales and to take advantage of me and a big wedding sale. I could not believe how this manager treated me! Still baffled. I wish I remembered this managers name to submit some sort of formal complaint to the corporate office that he was so adamant about getting involved. Great group of people there. We were in town from Houston for a wedding. Had an emergency regarding a lost suit coat for a groomsman in the wedding...1 hour prior to the wedding time...and they quickly got me another suit coat exactly matching the lost one. The groomsman hoofed it back to the church in time to be in the photos and then the wedding. Fantastic service and thanks again to all of the staff at this Jos A Bank.
