When I came to pick up my dress, I tried it on and it wasn't as fitted as I was hoping for. I talked to the owner, Le, and said it wasn't to my satisfaction and he was willing to alter it for no additional charge. I have been to other seamstresses who will charge for additional alterations if you are dissatisfied with their service. Although the alterations were higher than other tailor shops I have gone to, their customer satisfaction compensates for it.

A few things to note: 1) Unlike many other places, Annapolis Formal and Tuxedo usually does not alter the dresses until a month or two before the wedding. Their reasoning is that most brides gain or lose weight before their wedding, so the closer to the wedding, the better. I absolutely love that I don't have to do 8 different fittings (or some other outrageous number). It just makes solid good sense. 2) Alterations are $380--I'm not sure how that price relates to other places. 3) Appointments only. 4) Flavia and her family members have owned the company for the past 27ish years. As soon as we walked in, the staff immediately asked my daughter her dress size without even greeting us or making her feel comfortable. My daughter is a size 5 and curvy, but the way they approached her felt unprofessional and inconsiderate. I should have left immediately, but I thought, No, I don't want to let his ignorance ruin my daughter's experience. Needless to say, he did. Even though I had an appointment, the owner wanted to take another customer ahead of me just because they came in with a baby.( he went on to add that the baby was upset and crying that's why they wanted to take them ahead of us, but the baby was not upset or crying, we were the ones that were visibly upset, and even the other customer agreed that I should be helped first since my appointment was indeed ahead of hers. Here we are now finally in the dressing room and the attendant paid little to no attention to my daughter and didn't seem interested in helping her with the gowns, while being very attentive to other patrons in the store. Comments about dress sizes, especially to young girls, can have lasting effects on their self-esteem, and this is something the owner should seriously take into consideration Save yourself and your daughter the heartache and go somewhere else.
