Within the last few months, I feel like I've seen a different side of her and her office. And it's not positive. I'm a self-pay patient and have been since the beginning of my time with Doctor Olafson. I've stated it in every visit I've had with her. Recently, she keeps telling me that my prescription isn't "covered" and neglected to do her research when ordering blood tests, making sure I could afford them. Although I made a following appointment with her last year for this current year, her office asked me whether or not I had made an annual appointment for a follow up and I had to tell them, that yes, I did. So, somewhere, someone isn't doing their job and I am falling through the cracks. I no longer feel heard or that I matter to Doctor Olafson and her staff. I will be looking elsewhere for care.

She shamed me, insulted me, told me that at my age (37) I won't be able to conceive naturally and that I'm old. She rambled through the entire visit and I literally had no idea what she was talking about when I asked her for clarification she rolled her eyes and talked to me like i'm a complete idiot. She is THE WORST gyno I have ever been to in my 20 years of going to a gyno. She was trying to sell me IVF without even first knowing anything about my body or health. RUN RUN RUN and do NOT go to this doctor (if you can call her that). Her office is also outdated, they still use lengthy forms to fill out instead of electronically, pretty sure they haven't even gotten on to EHR at all. She even told me " I don't do email" and laughed at it. As a female and laying there exposed having an ultra sound with a doctor who is literally making you feel awful for asking about your fertility is probably one of the worst experiences i've had. If I had the energy to sue her for emotional distress, I would. Her staff is unprofessional , short, rude and really shouldn't be in their line of work if they are so miserable. I wish I had better things to say but this was truly a horrific experience.

Most of my friend's doctors made them try for a year before doing any kind of tests/taking any kind of action - but Dr. Schmidt jumped in as soon as I was ready! She was patient and informative with me throughout the entire process and I continued seeing her until I was 12 weeks pregnant. I "graduated" from her clinic recently and I already miss seeing her, Laura and Brittany on a weekly basis! Everyone was always so friendly, accommodating and welcoming. Thank you Dr. Schmidt for all your help in helping my husband and I start a family :)

There wasn't much street parking this morning, but you can actually park in the parking garage right before Snooze. The clinic validates parking so it should be free for an hour or so. I met with Dr. Colleen Brown and one of her specialties is skin care. You see, I had a disgusting infection on my new tattoo. She was very professional and direct. Just asked me what's wrong and prescribed me some medication. Easy peasy.

She said they had a backlog of 5,000 uprocessed referrals. I can't even fathom what this would mean my healthcare needs were dire. - My PCP turned off my ability to message her after one message. - Recently I showed up for a dermatology appointment and, after disrobing and waiting, I was told I couldn't be seen that day because I had an endocrinology appointment earlier that day, completely wasting hours of my time. Yet it was someone within Perlman Clinic who had booked both appointments for me. - They have ZERO holistic options. The ONLY PCP I could find with a holistic (ie TRULY "integrative") background was fully booked out with no option for a waitlist. - The first PCP I tried with them, when I asked her "do you trust me to know my own body" looked me straight in the eye and, deadpan, said "No." Then she proceeded to get very agitated. - A recent referral was denied by my insurance and they claimed they had no interest in disputing it. - A doctor I waited a month to get in to see cancelled two hours before with no reason or apology, and bumped me right to the back of the line again, forcing me to wait another month to see her. - The endocrinologist I've been working with clearly has zero real knowledge. My research and conversation with functional doctors has shown me that if I flat out listened to her, it could be dangerous for my health. - My insurance denied thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of claims because they were incorrectly submitted. - The clinics emulate complete lack of health. Everyone who works there looks and feels so unhappy and unhealthy. I have trouble understanding how these are the people we should be counting on for our health? - As if this list weren't long enough, there's so much more beyond this - all WAY too long to list here. Update: After posting this review, I received a phone call from someone who pretended to care. But it was crystal clear in their speech that they cared ZERO. Every time I have expressed concern I've been met with inauthentic, canned speech (poorly) designed to suppress people.

"YOU PROBABLY HAVE HORMONAL ACNE"... everyone would tell me. But what do I do about it!? I've tried…read moreeverything, I told them. I was 28 years old with a chin full of huge cystic acne red pimples. All my friends considered me the healthiest eater and would workout every day, so none of this made sense to me. I would wake up extra early to cover up everything in makeup. Inside I was depressed and sad and would cry every few weeks when more pimples would show up. I would say no to social events because I didn't want to be seen like that. I was throwing away money on new natural remedies I found on youtube. Nothing was working. Finally, I was connected to Nourish Medical Center and rescued by the incredible Dr. DJ Sims. SHE CHANGED MY LIFE. After about 4-6 months (I had some serious hormonal imbalances), I NO LONGER HAVE ACNE. MY FACE IS SMOOTH AND CLEAR! I remember reading other people's reviews of them saying they no longer have acne and wishing and praying I would get to the day where I could write the same review. And here I am. It will be all be okay, I promise. You will get there too! :) First of all, you don't need to live in San Diego to see these doctors. They do zoom which is awesome! Nourish Medical is a dream doctor's office. The staff is so sweet and you always feel taken care of. Now let me talk about Dr. DJ Sims - the best naturopathic acne doctor ever. She is so friendly, fun, extremely knowledgable and so easy to talk to. She makes you feel heard (our appointments are usually 1 hour, once a month) unlike regular doctors who push you out the door after 3 minutes. She gets down to the ROOT of the issues you're having and prescribes special herbs & supplements to tackle those specific issues. She gave me an amazing hormonal urine test (called the Dutch test) which told us my hormones were out of whack. She also TEACHES you why these things are happening to your body (for me, birth control and years of antibiotics were a leading cause) and what the specific herbs will do to help my body. I have learned SO MUCH about the body and feel like I have the tools to treat myself in the future if I ever have flare ups. Yes, naturopathic doctors are expensive. AND YES THEY ARE WORTH EVERY PENNY. If you feel hopeless, out of options and not yourself anymore... do yourself a favor and call the office. My happiness and confidence are back and I finally feel like myself again! THANK YOU TO NOURISH MEDICAL :)

I was referred to Nourish by a friend. I browsed their web site and read over the 'Providers and…read moreStaff' bios to try and decide which doctor I wanted to see based on my needs. Honestly, it was a bit of a shot in the dark. Prices of visits vary depending on who you see. I called to make an appointment, and was disappointed to find out it was about 3 months before I could get in. I was called and offered an earlier appointment when someone else cancelled, but I couldn't make it, so I stuck with my original appointment time. The front desk staff were always pleasant when I interacted with them. You have the option to visit in person or through an on-line virtual video visit. For my first visit, I decided to go in-person as I wanted to make a connection with the doctor and for her to really "see me". The office is very clean, modern and upscale, although not 'cold and clinical'. The decor colors are welcoming and serene. There is a waiting room and then you're called back to your doctor's office and you walk through a common area with a large table. There's a small restroom and a phlebotomist's room. I left after my first visit (which was about an hour) with my head spinning slightly as I felt like I had some 'homework' to do before my next visit. This included downloading an app, through which to order supplements and ordering said supplements. Organizing getting bloodwork (which, after some research turned out to be less expensive through a 3rd party lab, not through the Nourish phlebotomist), ordering a prescription through a compound pharmacy and purchasing and utilizing a continual glucose monitor through another retail outlet. While wearing the monitor, I had to enter any food consumed and any exercise activity into the glucose monitor app. Communication with your Nourish doctor is done through a 'patient portal'. Any messages I sent were usually answered within a couple of days. I also called the front desk a few times with questions. For my second visit, I chose the convenience of meeting virtually on-line to save the commute time. This visit was about 40 minutes, done through the portal. The doctor I chose was professional, knowledgeable and pleasant, but not particularly warm and bubbly. She didn't smile much. Not a lot of pleasantries like , 'How was your summer?' or 'How was the drive here?' or whatever, just strictly down to business. That's OK, but I like a little bit more of a friendlier/interactive bedside manner. Between two visits, some bloodwork (outside my provider network), several supplements, a compound pharmacy prescription and mail delivery, plus purchasing a glucose monitor, (also out of my provider network), I spent just over $1,100. After my second visit, it kind of occurred to me that the operation relies a little heavily on the recommendation of supplements which you order through a portal they suggest -- obviously they make a commission. (I was told by the front desk to 'Not order through Amazon'!) I didn't feel like the first set of supplements had done much, so I decided not to order the second set that was suggested. I felt I was given very minimal nutritional advice. I'm glad I gave Nourish and naturopathy a try and I was pleased that I was tested/monitored for things that my regular medical provider wouldn't bother testing for, however, ultimately I didn't feel like it solved much for me. There is free on-site parking.
