I understand they need to make money, but I don't see why there should be a charge just to check their own work and ensure everything was done correctly, especially when I'm experiencing pain directly related to their procedure. My insurance no longer covers this office, and considering they've already performed two deep cleans and an initial visit, I would think they would take responsibility to help a patient in pain. I repeatedly asked to speak with someone higher up than the office manager, even the doctor, but was refused each time. Overall, I would not recommend this office to anyone.

I went in for what I thought would be a new patient exam and routine cleaning. I was advised after a review of my teeth by three different people (assistant, hygienist and dentist) that I would need a periodontal cleaning because I had some concerning spots of gingivitis. I was then told it was a fairly steep cost. Due to me being displaced from work, I simply didn't have the money to pay for it right then and there, so no cleaning was done. Fast forward, I end up going to a different dental office due to the fact that they were in network with my new insurance after I found a new job. That dentist reviewed my exam done by Library Park Dental, and I advised him that this periodontal cleaning was recommended by them. The dentist at the new office stated that he simply did not believe it was needed. He could see why there was concern due to some inflammation in my gums (aka gingivitis), but that a periodontal cleaning just wasn't necessary to fix the issue, and even mentioned that he was impressed with how well I take care of my teeth. By the way, that part is true - I am mindful of taking care of my teeth and I take pride in doing so! Anyway, I wanted to post this review in case anyone else was surprised to hear from this office that a more extensive procedure was necessary. I certainly was, and I do feel as though I was misled by Library Park Dental. The hygienist at this office stated that this would be necessary to prevent periodontal disease, which doesn't go away. I am thankful for preventative measures being recommended to me, but when it comes at my expense as a patient, I would hope that this was only recommended unless they thought it was completely necessary. I have no reason to disbelieve the new dentist as his response was honest and forthcoming by comparison. I also want to note that I'm by no means trying to insinuate that Library Park Dental is committing malpractice or anything of that nature - I'm sure they do great by the people that look to them for help. I'm only posting this in case this helps someone out there looking for some perspective, and/or if the practice sees this they can try to course correct.

However, we found the staff and team unknowledgeable and unfriendly. We needed a referral for some dental work and they didn't know who to send us to. Additionally, while I was waiting in the waiting room. A family who spoke Spanish entered. The receptionist refused to speak it back or find someone who spoke the language to help translate, they just spoke in louder English. I did not find the receptionists friendly or welcoming at additional appointments either, and I find it concerning that the dentist seemed unknowledgeable.
