I didn't think I'd be leaving Maine with a brand new pair of beautifullllll clogs but I am so happy…read morethat I am! My plan for Portland was wander, eat, sip and wander some more. But this wonderful shop with wooden clogs lining the windows was too cute to pass up without a walk through. Especially since I had commented TWICE that day already on other people's cute clogs and how I really wanted a good pair. I took it as a sign. One side of the shop is the store, the other their workshop, and the entire space smells like leather. The woman working that day, who I would guess was the owner, was kind and patient and got me a few different pairs to try on. I left before buying to debate if I wanted to spend a bit of $ on a pair and also needed to decide on a color (brown or black). Well, after a drink at a nearby brewery, I returned and bought my great new pair of shoes. They are comfy and cute and came in a great little cloth tote bag I've used quite a few times already. All and all a great purchase, and a shop I highly recommend for shoes and all things leather!

I wandered Congress St. aimlessly while passing through Portland, Maine and popped into this cute…read moreleather goods store. A had a chat with the very friendly person working there (the owner maybe) and then noticed a dreamy leather tote, just the right light brownish red that kind of matches my hair. It was an ok price for a thick leather, well built tote, although more than I had planned to spend that day. I couldn't resist. Now 3 years later I'm still using the tote and get compliments all of the time. Right now I'm building a smallish house and find myself throwing saw blades, pints of paint, and other items I pick up at the store into it. Not normally what one should do with a nice purse, but the purse is unphased. It gets more of a worn in look, but it's even more lovely as such.

*I hope the manager reads these reviews*…read more I cannot imagine we will be visiting again. After 3 years of lots of grace and patience with THEIR customer service, I cannot see a reason to continue to give them slack on this front. It's their job. I do not need to support a business that doesn't care well for the customers or kids. Later Lots for Tots. Hope you have a workplace revival and pull the stick out of you bums. You're missing out on a great opportunity to be a fun place. Bummer for you. Often grumpy customers leave poor reviews without giving it time. Well I'll tell you what, I have been visiting this location for 3 years. Selling and buying. Unfortunately, I have yet to have a resounding positive experience even once. Customer service: as a kids store, I expect it to be kid friendly and friendly in general. Unfortunately no. Maybe they hire people with RBF but woof walking in feels like a glare fest- very unwelcoming. And if there are kids with you- forget about it. Cold shoulder. I thought the reviews were exaggerating on this- nope. Not one bit. I don't know one mom who feels comfortable and welcome to bring her kids in there- to a kids resale store! YIKES. Despite this I 9/10 times have brought my kids in- I'm the kind paying customer with well behaved kids. I don't walk in there and feel like I want to buy anything bc of how disturbed the environment feels. Selling: it's like they're mad you're there bringing them product for them to make money off of. It's alarming how displeased the women are every single time I've dropped anything off- mind you before even reviewing my loot. And asking for a timeframe for when the review will be done has ALWAYS been answered with a condescending scowl and "oh I don't know, at least an hour oh and you have to pick it up by 6pm." I have dropped a few loads that I made a decent amount on, but always felt robbed at the dollar amount I received. Recently, I brought 5 bags of clothes and they found one item they wanted. I cannot imagine they looked through all the pieces. I am absolutely certain there was more than ONE item "worthy of their standards" in the bags. Absolutely certain. Buying: The clothes are WAY over priced. Past season, worn Old Navy is listed for the original new prices- maybe 50 cents off. Many items are pilling. Many. I have yet to find more than 1 or 2 boys items worth buying after repeated visits- 2 years looking for boys clothes. I've found things hung for sale with stains and holes and pilling. Did I mention how over priced the clothes are?? Later Lots for Tots. Won't be missing you.

We were very impressed with Lots for Tots. We were a bit skeptical at first, due to a few reviews,…read morebut we had an excellent experience, in both locations. Yes, when I walked in, all of the employees were very busy working, but once I said "Hello", they were very responsive and helped me right away. I brought a few bags of clothes in, and got way more than I expected for them. I mean, they have to pay so much overhead, and payroll, etc. For me, getting a little bit of money for clothes that I would just donate, anyway, is a plus. I've tried selling clothes online, but with shipping costs and fees, not to mention my time, it never seems worth it to me. I dropped the clothes off, and gave my name and phone number and within just a couple hours I got a text back saying they were done and what the total would be for the stuff they chose to keep. (And they gave me back what they didn't want or need - some were seasonal clothes). The stores are very clean, the merchandise is very well kept. We are very impressed with both locations. A great service and such an asset to the community. It's so nice to be able to purchase nice, quality clothes, and toys at about half the price. Thank you!
