My names eddie. So we been to this place twice already and so far they uave been both negative experiences. But for the sakes of this review, i'll base it on what happened last night. My friend had ordered a table for us to celebrate his birthday but for some reason, before anybody got there, there was ppl already sitting in our table. the club was crowded but thats what you can expect for saint pats day. However i feel that the organized staff could have been more organized. Bouncers were being assholes just to be assholes. They spoke with an attitude and undeserving sense of authority. They are the first staff ppl interact with, I would think theyre attitude would reflect staff that are eager to have ppl come in. Bartenders skip at least a total of 3 times when i was at the bar. I am a very patient person but even i was getting a little bit irritated. Security Staff got hostile really quickly and lack presence of mind of what is going on. Someone had thrown liquid at the dj and my group got accused of it. The dj started cursing at the crowd, thus rallying it up trying to start something. Security then got hostile, taking of there shirts, preparing for a fight and yelling at me for stepping in. If i had not stepped in and stood in between ppl, there would have been a big fight. They escorted us out, the whole time cursing and badgering my friends who had order the table. isnt the whole point of security to prevent this. to be level headed in times of need. We didnt throw the liquid at the dj but still got blamed for it. If security had truly been watching, they would have seen it happen. But where was security in all this?. Drinking! i wish my phone hadnt died so i could have taken a picture so would have more proof. In the end, we gave this place 2 chances . i will definitely not give them a third read more

I wanted to try a new place to hang out with my friends, so we decided Joseph's. We got there and got seated pretty quick. Looked at the menu and we knew what we wanted in about 10-15 mins. We didn't get acknowledged what so ever. I waved down a server and she just told me to wait a min. That was after an hour or more of waiting to even look our way. At the end we decided to leave and never returning to this place. We'll just stick to our go to spot Iguanas in Pico Rivera!! read more

josephs' s Bar and Grill is a new venue in our city of Downey. this place is lit up like a Christmas tree with tvs and lights and pretty ladies. in the day it usually looks closed (that was my first impression). There are so many TVs here that can be a bug to some people, especially she. it is all sports. the service is related ok, the guys here seem new hurried. food takes a while to make to your table but it is fantastic. at least the over easy burger was. they should ask you how you want your burger. But food and beers are good here. The over easy burger was good especially when you get the oaxacan cheese on it. a little messy but good. It is very good tasting stuff. much better than when it was Granatas. 5 stars because is worth it. was a bit pricey but it was great. read more

This review is for Saturday 03/28/2015. Joseph's is a tidy place that gets very crowded. However, I think the bar service is a little slow. I observed the bartender who was serving me, was taking one order at a time. It took quite a long time to get a drink. I've seen an older gentleman ( a couple of times) there who is presumably the owner, or manager just drinking a cocktail not helping the bar staff, or greeting people. If they could get the bar turnover a little faster, it would be a bit better. read more

It was easy getting in only waited 5 minutes. The bar area is a total havoc, I waited 25 Minutes to get one drink. The bartender discriminated me, she helped everyone around except one other patron and me. I asked the bar back for help and he said wait for the bartenders. The vibe here is always Fun, always a good crowd of people . The Food and Appetizers are really delicious, I had the grilled chicken breast with mushroom and it comes with two sides! I highly recommend this dish. They also have good Djs that play after 930 pm, Only bad thing is the service!! We came to Joseph's last minute because one of our friends had been there before and he said it was a pretty chill spot to drink and dance so what better way to bring in my girlfriends 28th birthday! The bar was pretty full and there was 13 of us so far so we waited to get "sat" and we asked the guy if we could have this kinda big booth by the Dj and he said he had to ask his manager..as we see them talking we just see them looking at us which was kind of awkward I mean where else did you plan on accommodating a group of 13+ when there was nowhere else to put us but that booth.... In the meantime these 2 super sweet girls come up to us and ask us if we want the VIP area for our group!! So of course we said yeah!! They walk us up to this little stage next to the Dj with really nice booths and they put these glowing cubes for us and the 2 girls were just super outgoing about it all!! I asked the girls if there was a charge for being in the VIP area and she said no so that was awesome!! Then she's like "make yourselves comfortable I will get you guys a server right now" and in a few minutes we got a server! She was super nice, we did ask for separate checks and unfortunately she couldn't give us all separate checks just 3 but that was ok we broke ourselves off to 3 groups. Our server was really nice but there was a few times where we did have to go to the bar and order drinks and stuff because we couldn't find her. The drinks were decently priced not too pricey, && we ordered the fries and they were pretty good too came out hot and decently portioned and when we asked for ranch they brought more than enough which was a bonus because we all like ranch. We danced and drank all night The Dj played a variety of music! From Spanish to English, old school to today's hits. Great DJ I must say! And when we requested a song to give the birthday girl a lap dance, he didn't hesitate to change it and make it happen! He even said happy birthday to the birthday girl and everything thru the mic!! I've been to this place may be a good four times and I like going there but I was very upset last night I ended up going with my best friend we got drinks at the bar I asked the bartender if I could get a table because my best friend is disabled she's recovering from a broken foot so she has a cane she got with the security guys we got a table and they also got us a server the bartender was great but the server was horrible her customer service was horrible she kept insisting and being pushy to order drinks even if we didn't need any because we were still drinking our drinks I don't know if she has an issue with certain people disabled people I don't know but at the end of the night I ask for my bill I just wanted to leave and I paid cash and I told her to just keep the change and pretty much gave her $4 tip and she's going to turn around and say that ain't shit that next time I come I better give her a bigger tip than this time I didn't give her a tip because she gave bad customer service she said her name was Nicole I was very upset so I left read more

Came here last night for the first time. We got there about 9ish and I wanted to have some food. We asked the host if we could have one of the booths and she said they couldn't give a booth to two ppl. I didn't mean to be mean but I asked her do we have to find some ppl and have them share a booth? She said we could sit outside but it was cold. We decided to grab a drink and then head out. We sat outside but the ambiance was inside with the DJ spinning too bad I couldn't sit inside since it was only two of us. The drinks we ordered didn't impress me much. We ordered the cucumber margarita and the Paloma. The margarita was too sweet so I let the ice melt to water it down a bit. The Paloma came with squirt, tequila and lemons the lemons the skin had a brownish color like thy were drying out already. I don't know why they would use these lemons in the drink specially when the drink is clear and can see them. Bartenders are attentive but the crowd is full of a**holes. This place definitely brings the dogs out if you know what I mean. On the weekends it turns into some sort of hollywood club. Girls line up in short dresses and high heels so be aware of the dress code. read more

Went for lunch break today. The floor manager was our server-- I guess they were low-staffed, at lunch time no less. She took our order and left. We ordered 2 burgers (with fries) and a plate of empanadas. A few minutes passed, and she came out again to ask us how we wanted our burgers (well, medium, etc.?). At that point, I'm thinking, shouldn't the burger already be on the grill? I mentioned to her we were on our lunch breaks (i.e. make it snappy). After that, the longest. wait. ever. I mean, it had to be 35 minutes. Mind you, we are on our lunch breaks and all we ordered were 2 burgers (with fries) and 3 little empanadas. It sould have taken no more than 15 minutes. There was no lunch rush, there weren't many people there at all. I don't get it. After 30 minutes of waiting, a different server comes out and apologizes on request of the floor manager and explains to us that they didn't expect so many folks for lunch today (wasn't that many), our food will be out soon and that we will be comped the empanadas and a 10% discount. We asked for to-go boxes, we didn't have time to eat. Our bill was a little cheaper, but we were so hungry. So much for celebrating Administrative Professionals Day during lunch break :( As for the food: Once I got to back to my desk I scarfed down my empanada and it was definitely good. Made to order. The "Over Easy Burger" (burger topped with egg) and parmesan fries were nothing to write home about. read more

So family was in town for New Years weekend so I thought let's check it out again... HORRIBLE IDEA!!! We went last night and security said my husband wasn't in dress code... umm excuse me! He wore a blue button up shirt and some levis. So of course my husband asked why not the security said cause the hat. (Ok we can leave it in the car no problem) than he says it's also for your pants... ummm since when do you not allow levis? Security says its too baggy umm no they werent!! I could have arrgued it and asked dor the manager but didnt feel this "bar" rated our businness after that. Plus two guys in front of us got in no problem with super baggy levis and a white t-shirt (ummm that's more gang related than what my husband wore) So I have to say... HORRIBLE horrible HORRIBLE!!! Cool atmosphere and great drinks, but the service sucks, I came in one Saturday night with a mind set to have a good time. I had purchased bottle service for a party of 4. Everything was great up until my table wanted to order more drinks/food. Our waitress was nowhere to be found. Like fine what ever not a big deal. I'll just go order what ever it was I was getting my self. So I would go find any host by the register for assistance. Then they tell me every single time that If I wanted anything I had to ask my waitress. This occurred multiple times. So then I'd be like " I would but where is she ?". He comes back to say "id take it back but they'd prob take a lot longer " So- I decided heck- not a big deal! Little did I know, this would NOT be the end of it Arturo who's was the bartender helping us felt insulted when we ignored him trying to flirt with us... So we asked for Our check and gave him two credit cards. He can back stating- "oh by the way- I put the total On one card" which was mine (the girl he was trying to "chat" with). I sat- smiled- Took a deep breath and was quickly Pissed off. It is NOT Okay- if I kindly ask you to put the total on two cards how hard can it Possibly Be. This place has just opened. It seems like it has it's share of problems that need fine tuning. I want to give them a chance to settle before I point out flaws. I like this place. The bartenders are nice, definitely eye candy (as they should be). We had the bruschetta and the creme brûlée and they were both delicious. I came a suggestion to the manager about maybe toasting the bread before they top it with the yummy bruschetta and he was so nice. Even thanked me for take the time to bring it up. If you are into sports... This place has soooo many flat screens WOW.... Let's take UFC Fights. It looked like thy had a DJ set up the night we went. I personally am not interested in that. I feel that when restaurants do that it shows desperation. BUT I am older and I know that not everyone has the same opinion. Terrible service. I was denied entry because of my shoes but when I changed them and allowed inside I saw many people wearing the shoes that denied me entrance in the first place. They pick and choose who to allow inside their entrance despite not following dress code and when I voiced my complaint I was disrespected by the management. I will never step foot inside this establishment and I advise others to find another bar to give their business to. read more
