My wife was craving Mexican mariscos, so we decided to try Xecora since neither of us had been before. It's in a big shopping center, which can be a bit of a mission to find parking, but honestly the food makes it worth it. Right when you walk in, the vibe hits you. It's a modern mariscos spot with cool indigenous-inspired designs and colors that give it a lot of character without feeling too much. We sat at the bar and David the bartender took care of us. Super friendly, knew the menu well, and helped guide us through what to order. He pointed us to the all day happy hour margaritas. Not gonna lie, we were skeptical because happy hour margaritas can be a big miss, but these were legit. The hamachi margarita was really well balanced, smooth, not too sweet, and easy to keep sipping on. My wife ordered the charbroiled octopus and it was really good. Cooked perfectly, tender with a nice char but not overdone. It came with cheesy potatoes that had a slight tang from the Mexican cheese, which actually paired really well with the octopus. It was a little cold out so I went with the caldo 7 mares. This one didn't hit the same. The broth was lacking flavor and the seafood quality just didn't match everything else we had. Even with that, I'd definitely come back. The drinks alone are worth it, especially if David's working, and next time I'm sticking with more of the charbroiled seafood options. read more

The food was amazing my homie ordered ceviche and I ordered the tacos with different styles. I believe it was governado, asada, and al pastor. The margaritas were delicious you can either have a salt or tajin rim. The service was great and our server was attentive of us. If you're on a limited time don't risk it. We arrived at 7:45 PM on a Friday. We had time to spare until our movie start at 9:15 PM and we ended eating movie theater food. Can't rate the food because we never got any. As in we placed an order and by 8:50 PM there was NOTHING. Not even the appetizers of Tacos Dorados that we ordered had come out. We also placed an order for their Steak & Lobster Plate. Too bad, we were looking forward to tasting it. We arrived and the hostess took us to our seats in the patio. She only put utensils on the table and NO MENU or communication of what to do or expect. Waited 15 minutes (8 PM) until a server acknowledged us. I wouldn't say they were busy as there was plenty of empty tables. When she asked us if we were ready or order we mentioned we didn't know what was on the menu as we didn't have a single menu to reference . -_- She got us one and we gave her our drink order and asked her to give us a little time to go over the menu (8:12 PM). By 8:20 PM another server asked us if we had been helped with ordering and we put a food order with him. Our drinks finally came out around (8:29 PM). They were very delicious a Paloma and a Prickly Heaven. 8:50 PM came around and I was done waiting. Like I said earlier, not even the appetizer came out. Complimentary Chips and salsa were brought out to our table when the drinks came out. The server mentioned that they didn't have any chips and they just made them so sorry for the delay. Since I was not about to rush through my food, I had them cancel the food and just charge me for the drinks. Very disappointing. Had about 45 minutes to wait for a movie show, this is directly across the movie theater. Friendly gentleman was both host and sister. I think they had just barely opened when I arrived. Very cool and open space. Lots of patio seating in addition to indoor dining room. Chairs are made of wooden wrapped with rope , the one I first got was slightly wobbly - I just changed seats. Complementary chips and salsa for one round, then a charge applies when asking for more. Chips were still warm , salsa had a kick of spice to it. I got a shrimp ceviche, a generous amount served on a plate of the prettiest hue of blue. Delicious with the tostadas, water is cucumber infused. Nice place to grab some food and drinks before the movies. They have very nice decor inside and lots of outside seating. The service was nice but could've been more attentive at times. I came here twice in the past 2 months or so - both times around 2/3 in the afternoon on friday. first afternoon i was sat at the bar but no one came by to take my order for 15/20 minutes so i left. i chalked it up to a bad day and decided to give them another try. i came today and the bartender was distracted talking to her fellow strip mall workers at the bar. beyond the lack of customer service the quality of food has gone down. i received a small bowl of ceviche no garnish and few tostadas. plus it tasted fishy. it's too bad i enjoyed this establishment in the past. read more

The only reason why I am not giving it 5 stars is because there were sooooo many flies all around.. it was a very hot day and they did not have any type of fans inside. We grabbed a late dinner on a Friday night at Xecora. The restaurant was bumping music and had a couple of tables filled. Vegan Calamari (5/5) - These beer battered oyster mushrooms were so tasty and an excellent appetizer to share between 2-3 people. Taco Trio (4/5) - This came with one of each: kesabirria, shrimp, and marlin. Of the three tacos, the shrimp and kesabirria tacos were my favorite. The tacos in the trio are a tad small for a serving so add rice and beans if you are on the hungrier side. read more

My husband ordered the surf & turf taco and 1 kesabirria, my daughter got a fish taco and I got 2 kesabirria. He did not like the tacos at all , in my daughters taco the fish it was a very tiny piece and it was more el crispy capeado than fish , she was like mami where is the fish ? I just told her baby is okay , just eat it . In my opinion Tacos are lack of flavor. Need to work a little better in regards of the birria. She said it would be about 10 minutes and wrote down my name and number and said she'd call when the table was ready. We walked around the plaza a little bit then came back to the host stand. There was another 4-person group there. She poked her head outside to the patio then walked them to an empty table out there. When she came back I said 'I'm back to check on our table.
