We came for the dine La menu... the calamari was amazing. I love the olives they were a pleasant surprise. My wife randomly had a craving for some good meat, so we decided to head over to Gaucho Grill for an early dinner. We ordered the half parrillada with the papas ahumadas and a side of regular French fries. The meat came out cooked to a perfect medium rare--tender, flavorful, and exactly what we were hoping for. When we ordered, I asked our server, Camila, if she could bring me a glass of Domingo Molina Cabernet to enjoy with the meal. As soon as our food arrived, she was right behind it with my wine. I came here with a group of friends during Dine LA event. There were eight of us. So, we were able to order all of the offerings on the Dine LA menu. For $35 per person, we get a salad or appetizer, choice of entree and a dessert. For salad or appetizer, choices were watercress salad, empanada or chorizo board. For main entree, choices were burger, salmon or veal Milanesa. For dessert, choice of flan or crepe. One plate of bread is offered for every two person. If you want more bread after you consumed the first plate of complimentary bread, there is a $4 charge for additional bread. The bread comes with two types of chimichurri sauce. One is spicy, one is not. Bread and sauce were delicious. The watercress salad, empanada and chorizo board were all delicious as well. I especially liked the beef empanada. The empanada can be ordered with different fillings. For the main entrees. The burger and the veal Milanesa were good. The salmon was a bit dry. The spinach and mashed potatoes in the salmon plate was a bit under seasoned. I did not liked the flan or the crepe very much. The flan was not as creamy or smooth as I would like. It was a bit too sweet for my liking. The crepe was a bit too chewy. I thought the dessert here were the weakest among their offerings. Overall, we enjoyed our meal. My family and I came here for Mother's Day, although honestly we would be happy to come to Gaucho Grill anytime! Outdoor area is well-covered, has ceiling fans for circulation, and shades when the sun starts streaming in. Their patio is dog-friendly, so my little rescue dog got to enjoy the atmosphere with us. The restaurant had a special menu for Mother's Day, but the brunch was only available on Sunday and we came on Saturday (having the date listed would have helped, but our server Daniel was gracious about it). We ordered mussels to share, extra bread - always fresh and so delicious, and a short rib empanada which is packed to the brim inside a buttery, flaky crust. The broth for the mussels was a bit on the salty side, but paired well with the bread. For entrees, my parents got the beef and chicken skewers, which are served with a side of rice pilaf and watermelon radish. My dad's filet mignon was very tender, but also overly salted. I had the ravioli with meat sauce, which had to have been the meatiest sauce I've had with a ravioli dish before! A quick note, Argentine cuisine is known for serving huge portions and cooking chicken very well done by default (I had the privilege of visiting the country a couple years ago, and can confirm this is exactly how they do it there!). I found the quality of the cooking to be consistent with the Gaucho Grill in Buena Park, but honestly enjoy this area more since there are other activities to do and see. Tried to make reservations over the phone for 10 mins no answer despite the automated operator telling me no one was in line and it would take less than a minute for me to be connected. No biggie I made the reservation online. This was for a birthday. When I got to the restaurant, no one was at the attending desk so I had to walk in and get their attention. I let them know that I had a reservation and they just sat me at a random table. Didn't ask for my name or anything. I ordered a half rack of lamb mashed potatoes, lobster, a mocktail, strawberry lemonade, and an al pastor empanada. Service to receive my food was extremely slow maybe about 20 minutes or so. The waiter did come to my table with food and place the food down only for it NOT to be the food I ordered. They placed someone else's food at my table so I had to continue waiting which was so frustrating. The actual food was low quality despite me paying almost 150 the lamb was decent, but the mashed potatoes and rice were poorly made. The mocktail was extremely bitter. The chimichurri sauce had no flavor and the bread was very tough. Lobster okay. Overall food was a let down. Not once during my entire dining experience, did my waiter come and check up on me or refill my drinks, even though all our drinks were totally empty. Waiter didn't come back with the dessert menu. Nothing of that sort, after I paid one of the workers asked me how I enjoyed my stay, and I let them know that it was not well. The waiter who was attending us said they were short staffed, however, during my time there there was probably less than five tables and it was very dead Monday 2PM so not an excuse I won't be back! read more

My dad and I went here for Father's Day. I will say at first I was a bit irritated by the wait for a table because we had reservations. However, the experience more than made up for it. The ambiance and vibes were electric and authentic, our server was friendly and accommodating, and the food was delicious. We started with empanadas and got steaks for our entrees. I loved the char and the Smokey flavor and mine was cooked to a perfect medium/medium rare. The drinks were also delicious and potent. Parking maybe tough to find. Hit and Miss Arrived at the Front Counter. The Seating Host was taking her sweet time calling customers and verifying their reservations. While the place is not crowded, she kept talking on the phone. About 3-4 minutes goes by as she continues to verify reservations on the phone. I was entitled to say, how about you hang up the phone and have us seated first then continue verifying reservations! My patience was wearing thin, I managed to get a grip of my composure. After she hung up the phone, she said right this way. No apology was given.. just follow me. We had to stop her since we wanted to sit outside versus being sat inside. Another mistake on her part for not offering options. She needs customer service training. Sat a table in the patio. The ambiance was great. It was a warm sunny winter day that day. "About 87 degrees" Ordered a White Sangria and Cucumber Cocktail. We received our drinks and they were exceptionally very good! Given some Bread with Oil which was tasty! Ordered Eggplant Pasta, Salad, and Shrimp Fettuccini. All arrived within 15-20 minutes. Took a bite out of everything. Not one complaint on the Food. Everything was delicious. I will definitely be back! The food is absolutely delicious! The presentation is fabulous. The Restaurant is clean. This restaurant also has a bakery in the back where the restrooms are located. Wow this place really delivered! My husband and I were planning on going to the Mediterranean restaurant next door to Gaucho's and had a change of heart last minute. I'm so glad we did! The atmosphere at Guacho's was booming. A rich Argentina culture filled the place, the greeter was an older gentleman and he was so welcoming, really made my husband and I feel special. Although Jennifer was our waiter and did an amazing job, the shorter guy that greeted us at the entrance also came over and explained the menu to us. He recommended that we try the HALF PARRILLADA. He was very honest about the cuts of meat that were featured on the plate and his honesty paid off because the meal was exactly as he explained it. I loved how he singled us out to explain things. Made us feel special the skirt steak was my absolute favorite. Seasoned with salt and pepper and that's all it needed. So deliciously tender and flavorful, cooked to perfection. the chorizo was amazing, plump with smokey notes and a grilled flavor. The grilled vegetables were the bees knees! We also had a spinach and cheese empanada and a smoked short rib empanada. The spinach and cheese was delicious but the short rib empanada was to die for. I could eat a multitude of those. I hated that I had to share that one with my husband . The chimichurri oil dip that came with the bread was also so good that I began to drink it, yes I'm fat, so what!
