Being a Downey native I really wanted to like this place. I think it really has potential, it just needs to improve in some areas. My friends and I came right before happy hour ended on a Tuesday, and it was relatively empty with maybe only 4 other parties. Our waitress was attentive and really nice, but the food was lacking. The fries were thin and super greasy, and the wings were tasty, but the ranch that they came with tasted off. It was zesty and thick, and didn't really taste like ranch. The pizza was ok, but overall nothing memorable. Also, at 10pm they had a dj playing music to a basically empty restaurant, but maybe more people tend to show up later in the night? read more

I came here on a Tuesday and had a really great time. Herb was our server and he was really sweet and attentive. We were the only customers there for a few hours which I thought was strange, but we didn't really mind. I stopped by the other day and was really impressed. It was Taco Tuesday and the tacos had a very original "street taco" taste. Very yummy. The Ceviche Cups are also great. I didn't expect the Ceviche to be very good since it's not a seafood place. The service was prompt and female servers are very nice and attentive. I made several changes to my original order and thought they would be a little annoyed but they were still great. It was my first time there and will definitely go again. This was my second time here. I really like the music they play especially the spanish music. The only negative things I would say is the wait to get a drink is ridiculous and they should add a couple more bartenders and not a lot of room to move around. They have all the dinning tables out. It would be nice if after say 9 they moved all the tables to give people more room to move around. With that said I will be back because it's local and has great music read more

So I literally just walked out of Joseph's. There was only about 15 people as of 8:35 p.m. and I sat right in the middle of the bar area, after waiting 30 minutes not one person in the bar area, the waitress, or the host came over to offer even just a glass of water or the menu. Luckily I was entertained watching the laker game but in reality this kind of customer service is what just drives the place down. I asked the hostess to speak to the manager but after hearing her comment that she did not see me walk in when in reality she greeted me when I walked in told me enough to just walk away and never come back. I use to like coming here when they 1st opened within the 1st 2 years but their customer service has gone down the drain read more

Came here for my best friend's 21st birthday and invited several friends over. The staff and customers looked at us like we were peasants because we didn't look like they type of people to come into this bar. It felt like a really shady environment. I do not plant to ever come back. 1. The female bartender with curly short blonde hair was rude. Gave me attitude, and didn't even give me a napkin with any of my drinks. 2. The crowd is filled with people between the ages of 30-50, a handful of customers in their 20s. 3. Unfortunately a majority of women were overweight. The way they dressed and danced was horrid. I have never been in a location with so many overweight RATCHET women in my life. 4. The DJ had horrible transitions, we went from listening to MANA to YG and Drake, followed by techno music.....Oh and then back to Billy Idol. 5. The place itself was way to small and crammed. I like this place because it's nearby. I usually come here with my ex and her friends when there isn't anything to do. You can smoke hookah on the patio, drink beers, eat food and listen to music. The DJ is normally pretty good and the food is pretty great. I recommend the empenadas. Other than that there isn't anything too special about this place. Its great for us locals. If they had better food specials and late night happy hour on the weekdays, this place would be great. Service is ok and place is clean every time I go. Still have yet to really come here on a weekend. Definitely a meat market. Guys are super thirsty here. I was chillin with my ex and went to the bathroom only to come back to seeing a couple of guys try to get at her including what we think to be was the owner. I'm a pretty confident guy so I didn't really sweat it. Went in on a Saturday night to have dinner , judging by the pictures I expected a bigger place. The lounge is quite small, dinner menu includes the common pizza, burgers steaks. Pretty cool place. I went on a Monday night after work. The lights and music caught my attention. Very nice & clean inside. They had happy hour till closing which was cool. Also on Monday nights there's a DJ there. He played pretty good music. In between, there was karaoke. I order a michilada. It was good but a little too much of everything except the beer. I ordered a beer to dilute it as I was drinking. The pizza was good! Wasn't frozen!! The wings weren't that good. Very mediocre & dry. The service was great! Place looks nice BUT extremely STUFFY. You definitely have to show up ready to spend money because they expect it. They close off a HUGE section inside where they require bottle service. So outside/bar seating are not only crammed BUT it's very loud. Service was ok for the couple drinks we ordered. Was surprise to see they had a dress code BUT if you know someone associated w/the place or get the bottle service your in. Double standards & I would NEVER return. Wow, we really liked this bar and restaurant. My wife and I went with our teenage son, and the food was great, the service terrific, and the atmosphere was a lot of fun. The ribeye steak was excellent, along with the mashed potatoes. We had the ceviche and buffalo wings to start, and they were great also. A DJ came in around 10, and the music really was great.
