I had an old chain link fence in my backyard (probably installed in the 1950's) that I had been wanting to have removed and had done some shopping around to find someone to remove it and haul it away. I managed to stumble onto Joseph's and what a find. I made an online inquiry and received a phone call within 10 minutes and had them scheduled to come out within 48 hours. I like the fact that it was explained to me that they had a minimum and a maximum charge so I knew up front what the maximum this project was going to cost me. The guys showed up on time, took a look and confirmed my cost (which was less than the maximum), and got to work immediately. A little over 2 hours later, they were done and had loaded up my old fence. These guys are professional, courteous and as I mentioned, very responsive. Called on 06/03/24 to get some prices on removing some items from my storage bin. I asked what the dimensions of the truck were at was told it was 16cu yards. I was told what the minimum charge would be for the the truck. When I asked what filling up 1/4 or 1/2 the truck she could not tell me what the charge would be. She told me they would have to come out and look at my items. This makes no sense at all. Especially since she gave me the price for filling up the whole truck. 1-800-Got Junk gave me the charge for all the scenarios right over the phone. Doesn't make any sense at all. read more

Need some junk taken away? - Avoid these guys at all costs. Called Joseph's Junk Removal to get some general household stuff taken away. Two patio chairs, a bunch of fluorescent fixtures, two hollow-core doors, etc. An amount of stuff that would fill the bed of a large pickup. Also had three 4x8 sheets of plywood. Joseph's texted me that their price was based on volume, on how much of their 12' long, 8' wide and 5' high truck bed my load took up. They have a minimum charge of $160 going up to a full truckload at $747. When their trucks arrived they looked at my junk and offered me an estimate of $327. Based on their volume pricing and full-truck cost, their estimate assumed my junk would take up roughly 44% of their truck. Ridiculous! As I said, my junk would have just about filled a pickup bed. When I complained I was told that it was the plywood ran the cost up. Of course, I sent them on their way and called another junk service. The Junk Wrangler, 800-488-5925, came by, gave me a price of $150 for everything and took it all away. They arrived promptly, were efficient and courteous, even refusing to bring their truck down my driveway for fear of damaging branches on one of my trees. They carried all my stuff to the street by hand. Joseph's, by contrast, pulled their even larger truck down my drive with no regard to the landscaping, snapping off branches along the way. I scheduled a virtual estimate with this company for 10 items in my yard, only 1 of which would be considered heavy. Mostly it was plastic storage bins and some assorted patio stuff I was no longer using. They quoted me almost $300 for the service and stated that their price is based off of "how much space the items take up in the truck". They did not mention that the item weight was a factor. Here's the thing...... I could very easily do this myself by simply renting a Home Depot truck for $15 and then taking all of the items myself to the dump for $30. I could get it all in 1 trip easy. The only thing holding me back from doing it cheap myself is that I have a toddler and am the primary caregiver on my free days, making the task very difficult to attend to. So instead, I went on Nextdoor and hired a random guy with a truck to do it for $150. I don't care how bad inflation is getting..... this "professional company" is charging outrageous prices for a simple service. If you don't wanna do it yourself, you are much better off hiring " a random dude with a truck" off Nextdoor. At least that guy won't charge you such outrageous prices! read more

I called Joseph's Junk Removal around 9 this morning and scheduled a removal for 2-4 pm this afternoon. They scheduled my window for an estimate from 2-4, and the reps showed up around 3:30 in a truck. They gave me an estimate, and I was able to decide if I wanted them to move my stuff on the spot. The estimate ended up being a bit below what the actual cost was, but it was totally fine. The guys moved my stuff so quickly, they were done cleaning out my 5x10 storage unit within 45 minutes. From initial assessment to completely empty, down the elavator and into the truck - in under 45 minutes. That's amazing. Casey/Jackson(?) and Tyler were my junk movers. They were incredible and well deserving of a tip. They moved so quickly, they completed the job in half the time I was expecting it to take. Payment was super easy and seamless - they had a square reader and ipad, but could have invoiced me to pay later. Awful, Awful service. If I could give negative stars I would. I scheduled to have some items removed and they showed up and stated that they may not be able to move them because they already had a truck full of stuff. This was after I'd been waiting for them and had already moved everything to a central point in my home where they'd be able to easily pick them up. The two drivers called their supervisor, who offered to come, but when asked if we would be able to make it by 5:30 since the appointment was at 4, he stated (he was on speakerphone) " I don't know what she expected. See if you can move some of the stuff is that I can go ahead and charge her." Extremely disrespectful. I'd go with almost anyone else except these money hungry time wasters. This is an amendment to an initial review that I sent - this is a very honest and impartial review. The gentleman that came to move my king sized mattress and box spring were cordial and helpful. However, I feel like I was overcharged for the items that were moved. Including a tip - the cost for the king sized mattress and box spring was $300. I couldn't even ask to include the king sized bedframe with the cost in fear that I would have paid more. I moved the items to my home initially, in a Home Depot truck that I rented for $45 plus the cost of gas mileage. If money is not an issue, then sure, this service is fine. I'm a single mom with two kids and do not receive child support - everything I pay for, I pay for it myself. I do believe I could have found something less expensive. In fact, can confirm - I actually did find a local company that will pick up the king frame for $70.00. read more
