We make it a point to stop by Jose's at least once a week whenever we take the back way to Lonoke, and it has quickly become one of our favorite places. I'm honestly confused by some of the reviews saying Jose's is expensive. The prices are actually one of the reasons we keep coming back! For example, a small cheese dip is $5.99, and it's about the size you'd pay close to $10 for at many other Mexican restaurants. The large is only $7.99, and we usually have enough left over to take some home. For perspective, I normally spend around $35 including the tip. That gets us two entrees, cheese dip, a soda, and usually two or three large beers. That's pretty hard to beat these days! But it's not just the prices that keep us coming back. The service is always great, and once you become a regular, they remember you. We've gotten to the point where they already know what we want and start bringing it out without us even having to ask. That kind of service is hard to find. Jose's may be tucked away and easy to overlook, but don't let the location fool you. It's absolutely worth hopping off I-440 and giving it a try. My family and I live nearby and eat here often. Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience on 6/1/26. I spoke with the older female manager (pictured below) regarding an issue with my last two pickup orders, both of which were missing the queso I had paid for. Rather than listening to my concern, she responded that if it had happened once she might believe me, but that they do not make the same mistake twice. Her comments strongly implied that I was being dishonest about the missing items. I explained that I had no reason to make up a complaint about queso and was simply bringing a recurring issue to her attention. However, she continued to argue and insist that she did not believe me. Everyone makes mistakes, and missing items in takeout orders can happen. What was most disappointing was not the mistake itself, but the way the situation was handled. Customers should be treated with respect and their concerns addressed professionally, not dismissed or met with accusations. The lack of customer service and the manager's attitude left a very negative impression. As a regular customer, I expected a much more professional response. Horrible customer service!!! read more

Service was real good. Very polite, attentive, and quick. We went for lunch and we got the "Loaded Burger" which generally isn't what you go to a Mexican for, but we are from out of town and the burgers were recommended. Have been a fan of this place since they opened several years ago. A nice little hole-in-the-wall restaurant with friendly staff and good eats. OMG.. How can you get everything wrong? So I live close to this establishment and when we moved here we were excited that Mexican food was close by. This is not Mexican food. It's not even good food. If you like to drink then I assume this is the place for you because once you are smashed you don't care what it tastes like. The salsa tastes like marinara. Salsa is like the thing that sets apart the greats. The cheese dip is not good at all. I just had the chicken tortilla soup because who can screw that up right ? I mean I needed something quick and they are right here. I should've known something was wrong when it didn't even smell like tortilla soup. In fact I couldn't really smell it . It was the consistency of a sauce and it was dark like a gumbo roux. Had a very strange taste. Not anything like tortilla soup. I nearly gagged.
