Food was good, but lettuce is ratherly poor pulled chunks instead of sherreded lettuce. Other than that we did enjoy the meal. Salsa and cheese dip was made well. Service was enjoyable. Only thing hated was told could not have a tea to go due to I had soda, and if wanted a drink to go it had to be a soda. Issue there is in hot weather soda goes flat rather quickly. Over the past several years Mexican Restaurants have dropped off in quantity and quality. Once we found a really good one we liked more than all the others, it would shut down for unknown reasons. Other places suddenly changed course in their quality so now, we don't really bother eating Mexican in Cabot anymore, but El Canaveral wasn't too bad. They're a bit different from the traditional Mexican joint in some aspects which can either be good or bad. I ordered the Canaveral Fajitas I believe, which had chicken, beef, shrimp, chorizo, and sausage. Having all those meats was great. The sausage was a awkward addition for me as I've never had it in Fajitas. Typically with fajitas you get the usual side plate with rice, beans, pico de gallo, lettuce, sour cream, and guacamole. We didn't get any sour cream or guacamole which was disappointing. We had good service as we tend to have at Mexican places. Food came out quickly. Their credit card machine for some reason refused my card. My card happened to work fine afterwards. Luckily we had another to use. Serving size wise the portions are decent. My wife and I split a Single Order and were both full as ticks. There's not much that really sets this place apart from any other Mexican Restaurant in Cabot or anywhere else for that matter but it's decent and we will most likely return. read more

I order from here quite often and I usually have a great experience until tonight. I ordered for my family to go I literally Live 5 minutes away from the restaurant I waited be allotted 15 minutes before I left my house so my food should have been nice and hot by the time I got home literally not even 2 minutes away my food and all of it was ice cold including my white cheese dip. When I called the restaurant to bring this to their attention the woman was quite rude and told me that they would make up for the quesadilla but not all of what I ordered. To be fair I have only ever ordered the "Cantina Tacos" which are delicious and nothing like your standard chicken tacos. The rice it is served with is pretty bland, and I guess they expect you to put some nasty Thousand Island dressing on the tacos which I never do. The salsa is very good. Very flavorful and has a decent kick to it. The cheese dip is okay, but nothing special. The service has always been friendly and the prices are very competitive. I ate here last night. The food was pretty standard Mexican. I walked in, sat down and was rushed to order...only one other couple was in there. Between the time I entered to my plate being set in front of me was maybe 7 minutes...that tells me there's a microwave in use. I literally nibbled on the chips to sit there longer. I love this place!! It can get kinda pricey but the amount of food you get for the price is amazing!!! Since I have ate here I don't want to have cheese dip or salsa from anywhere else!! This is my favorite place in Cabot to eat!! The people I talked to are polite and friendly as well!! The only complaint is the size of the parking lot and how cramped it is for the amount of people who eat here!! They also have amazing take out and which is normally a 15 min wait!!! This was just awful mexican food. I had one of their dinner plates. I find if I order the basics, Buritto, enchilada, rice & beans. I could tell what kind of mexican food place it is. The buritto was basic hamburger meat win a flour toritilla with tomato sauce on top. The enchilada was the same just topped with tomato sauce. The beans were ok and the rice was flavorless and bad. I didn't even finish it all and had a bad stomach all night, had to take a pepsid. The only thing that was 1/2 way decent was the salsa (not hot at all) and the chips. I live right around the corner but will never visit there again. Oh and the waiter couldn't even get a drink order right. There is a huge difference between fruit punch and sweet tea. I am still in search of a good mexican food place here in Arkansas. read more

My family visited last night 03/20/2021 and it was terrible. We have been here many times over the years and they used to be one of the best in town, in my opinion. But our last few visit have been worse each time. When we visited last night one young man took our drink orders and then took probably 15 minutes to bring back only two drinks. Another 5 or so for the two remaining drinks. He then disappeared and was not seen again. Another lady brought out our chips and salsa. The chips were horribly stale and chewy and the lady that brought them out had the personality of a brick. We ordered a cheese dip but when it was brought our empty chip basket was not refilled. We saw no one else until our food was brought out by a very rude lady, at which time we were finally able to request more chips to eat our now sticky cold cheese dip with. The entire time there was a young man in an apron and restaurant shirt wondering around the place but never approached a single table or offered any assistance. I bet he walked by us 3 times while we were there. The food was so-so when it finally arrived. It seems we will be traveling to NLR or Searcy from now on. We definitely will not be wasting anymore money at this establishment. That almost $60 was wasted. read more

Ok so out of 3 Mexican places in Cabot, AR I say this one is a contender! The white cheese dip which is only $2.99 is good- not the best I have ever had simply because it was a little chunkier than I like mine due to the hot peppers in it. It was spicy! So for those that love spice this cheese dip would rock your world! It had an excellent flavor. The salsa was a bit sweet for me but was fresh with a little chunkiness. Add salt is my thought on that since the cheese dip is so spicy you don't need any extra if you combine the two or go back n forth! The chips were ok- maybe better if heated and add salt to them. I ate my cheese dip with the store bought chips I had at home. The Beef Chimichanga was a large layered yummy delight even with it being take out and not being as crispy I can tell that it would have been melt in your mouth good if I had eaten it in the restaurant. It came with the usual sides- sour cream which was fresh, guacamole which was fresh and tasty/ great color on lettuce of good quality, pico de gallo which was fresh and not too spicy, re-fried beans with cheese which was a standard but totally edible, and rice which had a great taste and texture! My husband's dish was good too although I have had better versions of this dish called a Ranchero Special in Jonesboro at El Acapulco- Fajita style Chicken and Shrimp over rice with white cheese dip drizzle- can be served with or without the fajita veggies mixed in. They actually didn't have this on their menu but recreated it for my husband so I give it a 3 star for effort. He really enjoyed it and it is pretty much all he ever wants when we have Mexican! The only negative so far....they apparently didn't have to go bags and put ours in trash bags tied up!! Very health department no no in my opinion. Anyways, I think this is a great place that is right near our house that I can get fresh food to go from- I will save the sitting down to Mi Ranchito though because they had great service and great drinks with less spicy cheese dip! read more

Really great experience! Came in on a Saturday at 1pm. Plenty of tables even though there was a good amount of people in the resturant. Staff was super friendly and brought drinks and chips/salsa quickly. We ordered a fajita taco Salad and a burrito/enchilada combo. Food was hot and fresh. Very good good over all. Haven't been to El Canaveral in about 2 years. Took 2 of my teens for an early dinner today and we will not be returning. The temp inside the restaurant was hotter than the temp outside. I thought I would melt before we finished eating. But even this would not have kept me from returning. We were seated in the back corner under a wood awning - far from any natural lighting and the overhead lamps were turned off. My oldest son asked if we could have the light over our table turned on .. since we actually enjoy seeing our food. It was 4:20 and we were told that the lights would not be turned on until 5pm. I assume they are conserving energy to reduce expenses. Explains why the a/c was set on "Hell". The cheese dip was the consistency of milk and remained this thin even after it cooled down. I thought they had forgotten the shrimp in my quesadilla. Opened it up to discover 3 bite-size shrimp and one tiny "piece" of a shrimp. 3 and 1/2 shrimp in total. The rice was approximately a heaping tablespoon. The quesadilla was void of flavor so I decided to order a side of guacamole. I was told the appetizer guac was $3.25. I asked if I could have just a small side rather than the full appetizer portion since it was just for me. No - this isn't possible. My 19 year old said the inside of his enchilada was cold. Considering the plates were too hot to touch and the outside of the food hot ... clearly the food was microwaved just before serving which also explains the rubbery texture of the shrimp. I had heard bad things about this restaurant from the locals and regret that I didn't heed their warning. read more

Consistently good, traditional Mexican food. My family eats here regularly and always enjoy the salsa, white cheese dip and entrees. They have a vegetarian section of the menu. But the chicken and beef options like nachos, chimis, fajitas are great too. Only down side to me is that they don't have Coke, only Pepsi products. read more
