It's worth noting we tried other landscapers in the Seattle area before, and had less than great experiences with them. The team of three (Hoss was the team lead) showed up on time, were able to park right in front of the house, and got the cleanup, trimming, pressure washing, etc. done before I even signed off from the work for the day. Payment was also super easy, as I got the invoice in mail, which was super convenient as opposed to other services I've used in the past. We've been using Jose's Landscape & Maintenance for about a year and a half for our overall yard maintenance. They do a great job! We have a decent sized lot with many shrubs and we also have a tiered back yard which was hard to care for. But Jose's crew always makes our yard look amazing. We had a great experience working with Hosmman, who really helped turn our vision for the yard into a reality. He was very responsive to all our ideas, and listened every time my wife and I had additional ideas for shaping our new designs. We sought multiple estimates, and no one came CLOSE to Jose's on any metric; Hosmman was a great listener, offered a very prompt and affordable estimate, and with Teo (supervisor) was able to start and finish the job within a week! By the end of the job, everything was finished perfectly and on-budget. These guys are the best! I have hired them three times to do jobs in our backyard, and they've done each one with high quality work and customer service. The first job was to trim our laurel bushes. Easy peasy. The second job was to build a small sitting area in our backyard, which they did at a totally reasonable price and to the exact specifications I'd requested. We love sitting there to ready books and watch our son play in the back. The third job was again to trim our laurel bushes, and again delivered great quality. These guys were on time, every time. Hired these folks to install a drainage line+pit along the side of our house and to add a french drain in an area around our garage where water was pooling. They started work promptly and communicated well, making sure we knew when there would be a delay due to supply issues (a very common occurrence these days). In spite of the widespread labor and material supply shortages plaguing the industry, they finished the work in a timely manner and did a great job. They even went above and beyond by spreading a bunch of their excess gravel from filling the pit over our graveled side path. read more

Our home has a large number of hedges which were in need of trimming. Lots of ornamental boxwood shrubs surrounding the house as well as huge privacy hedges (over 30 ft tall) bordering one entire side of the property. We found Jose's on Yelp! and decided to give them a call. Jose responded quickly and came over within a day to scope out the project. He spent a lot of time with us going over the project and making suggestions. He is very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. He sent us his bid the same day and we agreed on a price. He scheduled his crew to come do the work within a week. The day of the job, Jose arrived first and again reviewed the work to be done with my wife and I. His crew arrived 20 min later and he got them started. This was a huge job and at one point there were 8 guys working around our property. They did a great job and cleaned up the resulting mess quite well. They were ALL very polite and worked hard. They even helped me move my hottub to new location since there was enough man-power present to do so. I definitely recommend these folks. We will call them again for sure. read more

Totally miffed by other landscape companies (recommended in passing) failing to call back or give us quotes, I turned to yelp to find a highly rated company that had follow through. I was not disappointed by Jose's! From the receptionist/scheduler to the site foreman and everyone in between, this company is efficient, fair and friendly. It is an absolute pleasure to work with anyone from Jose's. When you call them to set up a quote they do their best to be there next day and are incredibly no nonsense, listening to exactly what you want. Their quotes are out ASAP and once approved, they start the next day on site if at all possible! My first project with them was odd to say the least and they knocked it out of the park! I was moving from Seattle to Snohomish and had a collection of planted outdoor pots (20) that I needed transported. These were not little pots, they are landscape pots 15" to 36" around full of evergreens. An all day project that resulted in not a single crack or broken branch and my pots exactly where I needed them. They were very conscientious of the plants, not on a freeway the entire trip. I could not have been happier with that experience! Second project was landscape clean up of our entire property that consists of several ornamental beds, hedges, trees and an expansive lawn. Their quote was very reasonable and they left our landscape pristine! They also quoted us routine maintenance at a very fair rate. Our third project with Jose's was a doozy. The back portion of our property had been left "wild." It was a mess of ferns, sticker bushes, massive stumps and cut logs. They worked diligently five days removing everything, leveling as best they could without installing a retaining wall, and leaving specific trees that we chose. We have a whole new area of potential now instead of a death trap for our toddler! The most impressive part of the project was their repair of our lawn where they had to bring in their equipment. I'm not going to say it doesn't look like anything ever happened, but I can't believe they managed to fix the ruts and get grass to grow so freakishly fast! We will certainly look no further than Jose's for any of our landscape projects from here on out and I'll be recommending them to all of our friends and neighbors! read more

Added a copy of my bill and photos after second time they came out due to my first complaint. As you can see weeding, blowing and picking up leaves and edging is still an issue. All I can say is WOW. Jose's Landscape transformed our back yard into something we are finally able. to love. It was a total wreck before they came out. They completely ripped up our yard to level it and install french drains so it is no longer a mud pit (our yard was sloped toward our house, draining water toward our crawl space), installed new sod, ripped up our patio and installed a beautiful stone patio, built 2 retaining walls, made a path down the side of our house, fixed our gate, and they are coming out again in a couple weeks to replace a section of fence. They were extremely easy to work with and more than reasonably priced. I would absolutely hire them again and have already recommended them to friends and neighbors. Jose's did our yard a few years ago and did an amazing job. We hired them for the same work this year, with additional work to grind two large stumps. The stump grinding went fine but the work they did in the yard absolutely did not match the bid and quote. The bid and quote said weeding and edging with 5 feed of brush cut back. When they said they were done I walked through the yard and they had only done 3/4 of what they quoted (this was 3.5k we were paying them). Several beds were not complete, all rock areas were full of weeds, no edging had been done, and several areas were clearly not cut back 5 feet. When Jose came by after my complaints, he agreed to finish the bed weeding but said because of the rocks they couldn't weed along the side of the house and could only spray. He agreed to "edge" but only with a weed eater, because it was again "too much labor", despite the quote we were given. While Jose did apologize for the "mis-communication" on the quote, they did not do the work promised for the thousands we committed to spending. They also didn't do anything to compensate for the fact that their quote was wrong. I will pay the invoice, but I will never hire this company again, or recommend them to anyone I know. I am disappointed and unsatisfied. read more

I'm a huge fan of Jose's landscaping... they've been out 4-5 times, often to do yard cleanups at the start and end of the season, they've also installed a french drain on the side of my house, and brick pavers work on a patio. They are organized, always come when they say they will, easy to talk to and work with, prompt invoices, and then most importantly, do very high quality work. I contacted Joe's Landscaping as its rating was good on Yelp. The estimate for one day work on a very small yard was 1600 dollars. I hired another company who did a fantastic job on the yard and only charged me 600 dollars. My impression is that the Joe's company does not practice a fair business. Jose's did a fantastic job for us in building a new retaining wall and filling it with potted soil to allow us to garden around our three existing trees in our backyard. They did professional work in taking down a back gate to allow their vehicle to come into the backyard and then covered up and reseeded all tracks the vehicle left in the lawn in doing so. There was some small incidental damage that nobody expected and they were quick to call our attention to the damage and offered multiple solutions on how to fix it so that it looked as good as before. Really appreciated their work and are already contemplating the next move in our backyard renovation with Jose's in mind when we're ready to go forward. These guys did an amazing job for me. (The work was done about 1-1/2 years ago... I thought I had done a review at the time but hadn't). Roberto was my contact person/estimator and he's a terrific guy... and my experience with everyone else at this company was great, too. The guys worked very hard and were easy to have around, which is important as the job took a couple of weeks. They graded and redid areas of my lawn, installed turf in others (all of which lived and thrived... not always the case), and put in sprinklers and gravel paths. Excellent work at reasonable prices. (Many places wanted to totally rip me off price-wise... it is Seattle, after all). I was extremely happy with the results.
