Very rarely did teachers or staff proactively communicate with me first, they would wait for "Teacher conferences" to communicate, Which often made it feel like parents are left completely on their own. One situation that especially upset me was when my son's phone was taken away and left at the front desk, yet nobody even bothered to notify me. He ended up waiting alone after school with no way to contact me or let me know what was happening. As a parent, that was extremely concerning and could have easily become a bigger issue. GOD FORBID SOMETHING HAPPEN.! On top of that, there was also a major mistake with my son's yearbook, where he was placed in the wrong classroom section and the customization package we paid for was missing. Instead of handling the issue with understanding, the situation felt minimized and dismissed. I understand schools are busy and mistakes happen, but communication, accountability, and student safety should still be priorities. I truly hope the school improves the way it supports and communicates with families moving forward. I truly hope the school improves communication, accountability, and parent support moving forward.

No, I don't. I was a student here and the management was absolutely horrendous. Parents are lied to…read moreby the school claiming it is the "best" in Nevada when you could probably send your kid to public school, and they'll get the same education. The principal contributes to absolutely nothing and they'll cut funds to clubs and sports when it's most important. The 8th grade girl's basketball coach was recently fired out of the blue even after being on a win streak for 5 years!! This school rarely shows that they care about their students. The uniform policy is highly reinforced for no particular reason, making parents deliver students' uniforms when they are caught not following the dress code. Overall, if you want safer school to put your child in...sure, Coral might be fit for you. But I do not recommend this place as a first choice.

My daughter has been a student at Coral Academy for over 9 years. I have never heard her complain…read moreso much about a campus than this one. This is what she tells me: all of the teachers either love you or hate you, if they don't like you, you will most likely fail in that class and not succeed as well as others. Teachers also pick favorites, mostly Muslim, Turkish, and Arab students. For the past couple of years, all of her science teachers at this campus have taught her literally nothing. Also some teachers barely speak english or don't even know what they are doing. Another thing, all of the staff take dress code WAY too seriously. For example, my daughter wore a Coral sweatshirt to school but just with a tank top underneath because it was too hot. A teacher found out that she had no Coral polo underneath and sent her to the office where I had to bring her a shirt in the middle of my work day. Which was extremely unnecessary, like do they have nothing else better to do. Also one of her friends were wearing slide on shoes but they were closed toed( which I'm pretty sure are allowed, like she wasn't showing her toes or anything.) and the Vice Principal, Ms Nourse.Came up to her and took her to the office and she got a minor referral. Also referrals can ruin a child's year. If you get 3 minors you get a major. And if you get 3 majors your not allowed to go on the class field trip. So lets say one student steals another students ID and they cant find it for 9 days, and they have to get a temporary one from the office each day. Then they can't go on the field trip. Also the IDs are literally useless. They don't even serve a purpose, like maybe for identification, but as if a students name is literally on every attendance sheet in every class. And its not like they scan them or anything. So it can get kids in a lot of trouble. Also the staff treats every student the same, like they are a evil. The only good teachers are Coach Gengo, Ms. Silva, Ms Sol, Mr Scott, and Mrs Jonah. "they are the goats" - my son. Also all the teachers are useless snd don't speak english. Thats all would not recommend.

I went to this school for all three years and boy howdy has it been a roller coaster of emotions…read more In 6th grade I would've gave this school 1 start out of pettiness but I've since grew as a person. First things first, the food is ass. It's about what you'd expect for school cafeteria food. Some teachers can be STRICT as hell for god knows why. I will admit, as annoying as the strict teachers were I'm glad some are there. my 7th grade science teacher Ms T was so strict and I absolutely dreaded that class because of it. Must've been a good thing though because I passed her class with a high B. The new cellphone policy was more tedious than anything. If people who are gonna be misbehaving want to use their phone, they're gonna use their phone the pouch ain't stopping them. Some of the staff there are a bitch. Excuse my language. The school is dirt poor. They rely on fundraisers and donations. I'm surprised they stopped selling Panda Express and Caines since they're in need of mone. They did it because they wanted to go "healthy". Honestly surprised that was their approach to healthy alternatives when the cafeteria food looks like it was bioengineered in a lab. As much as I had pretty alright time here, I probably wouldn't recommend it. A bit off topic, if the choir teacher ever reads this I want her to know that something she said always pissed me off. She would say "This is a performing arts school, if you didn't want to sing then you shouldn't have come here" or something along those lines. That always got me mad because I didn't sign up for choir. My first choice was theater (which I got it) and I also tried doing art but got put in choir. Got me mad because I just wasn't passionate about singing That was more of a personal note though. Real talk, the choir program is actually AMAZING though and I'd highly recommend it if you like singing. Another great department is theater. So it's been a while since my initial review, and there have been changes many amazing, some…read moredisheartening . I now have children in the Elementary and one entering the High School. The Good Pinecrest still provides an exceptional academic program. I've had very open and transparent interaction with teachers and staff (family oriented). Looking at the schools data/ scores and the progress of my own children, I can attest to the success they have in providing an educational experience that can not be matched by the Public School System. It is rigorous and requires students do the work. Success at Pinecrest is dependent on what students and parents put in. Infinite Campus is updated and I appreciate being able to see what they are working on and when they will be assessed. It helps me keep track of my kids assignments and provide guidance as needed. If your student needs help, just ask. They have a system of support that is very student centered. The school is modern and progressive. They expose students to the technological advances needed to prepare them to be competitive as they enter college and workforce. Additionally they frequently have Guest Speakers, various Community Organizations, Events (very active PTA), Field Trips, all coveted opportunities that gives students exposure to every thing from Entrepreneurship, Career Exploration,The Arts, Community Building the list goes on. The programs for Middle School and extracurricular activities offered are top tier in my opinion. I am supper excited by the addition of the High School Career and College Tracks offered to the students. Pinecrest covering the majority of associated cost. Leaving High School with a Diploma, Certification or degree/ credits is a valuable opportunity. The Bad As Pinecrest has expanded there has been a very noticeable change in negative student behaviors. Bullying, Racism, and Mental Healthl issues have marred the appeal of the school. These issues in my experiences unfortunately have not been limited to students. However, when I've reached out I have almost immediately response and have recieved swift action. Once again, parental involvement is needed in addressing these issues and proactively seeking meaningful resolutions. I also feel Pinecrest needs to revamp how they set and enforce expectations when it comes to behavior. Most students there appreciate all that the achool offers. They come in ready to learn and engage in all the benefits the school provides. However, there are some that disrespect the learning environment continuously contributing little to the overall environment of the school. This is simply not acceptable. It does not go with the core values and goals of the school. More needs to be done to support the teachers in the classroom so that they can teach without distractions. Overall, our time at Pinecrest Cadence has been good. While like any other school there are issues, the overall value provided is still exceptional. I hope that as the school continues to grow they continue putting student success at the healm. Creating an environment where all students feel seen and valued.

My son has been attending Greenspun Middle School for about one year and is currently in 6th grade…read more We moved here from California, and the difference in how schools are run is shocking, in the worst way. Clark County School District, and Greenspun specifically, handles student behavior very poorly. My son has witnessed more fights at this school in one year than he ever did in California. Bullying is a serious issue here, and the way staff, teachers, and administration respond to it is unacceptable. For example, an 8th grade student poured orange juice over my son's head. My son did exactly what he was taught, he reported it to staff instead of reacting. After speaking directly with the principal, Ms. Hermes, it sounded like this 8th grade student would face little to no consequences. However, it was made very clear that if my son had defended himself, he would be the one in trouble. This teaches kids to accept being mistreated while punishing them for standing up for themselves, which does not prepare them for the real world. This same pattern shows up in the classroom. My son recently got in trouble with Ms. Walsh, his math teacher, for raising his voice. My son admitted to me that he did raise his voice, and I appreciate his honesty. He explained that during free time another student was repeatedly giving him a hard time and even threw a backpack, yet that student was not disciplined. Ms. Walsh did not put a stop to the behavior immediately, allowing the situation to escalate. While my son should not have raised his voice, it is easy to understand his frustration when disruptive behavior is ignored and the child reacting is the only one punished. Students are either ignored when they report issues or immediately punished without any real accountability. Teachers frequently raise their voices when it isn't necessary, instead of stopping bad behavior the first time it happens. It feels more like a power struggle than effective classroom management. Academically, things are not much better. My son has struggled with his grades, and after meeting with all of his teachers, one teacher, Mr. Hoffman made the comment, "The dad's job is to work and the son's job is to do his own work." That statement alone showed a complete lack of support, accountability, or willingness to help a struggling student. I also personally sat in on one of Mr. Hoffman's classes. Before the classroom doors even opened, while waiting outside in the hallway, I overheard multiple students using the N word. This is especially concerning given that over 80% of the student population is Caucasian. There was no staff present to intervene out there , and it was clear this type of language is tolerated. From my own observation, Mr. Hoffman does the bare minimum, assigns work, sits at his desk, and provides little guidance or engagement. I witnessed this firsthand. Some classes don't even have assigned seating, which only adds to distractions and behavior problems. Most work is done on computers, yet there is no typing or basic computer skills class, setting students up to struggle even more. Overall, this school lacks structure, accountability, student support, and effective leadership. Bullying, racial language, and disruptive behavior are not addressed consistently, and administration, under the leadership of Ms. Hermes fails to protect students who follow the rules and report issues appropriately. I would not recommend Greenspun Middle School to any parent who cares about their child's safety, education, or emotional well being.
