I said okay since they would do monthly payments. I had the stimulator for 2 days and then had it removed. It hurt and was very uncomfortable. Three weeks later I received a messaged stating that the total amount due had changed. That I would need to pay a total of 1900 dollars. I called them up and asked why did the amount due changed? This is not what I had signed up for. They said that this would be the amount I would have to pay now. Based on what I saw my insurance paid more than $30-$40,000 for the procedure. And I'm still in debt for $1900. I don't think that once you give a price to a person you should say it's more money. We spoke about it and I'm pretty sure that contacting the insurance and verifying the amount of coverage should be done as a professional business prior to surgery. Also when I signed the payment arrangement for 1200 I said please take it out on the 15th. Well I guess I must not make myself understood because today is 11/3 and they took a payment out.. I guess calling me to see I was okay with the withdrawal of money wasn't important. Since I'm on disability I don't make extra money and you being aware of it gives you the right to assume that I would be okay. Now I'm short on my rent money and have a bill that is ridiculously expensive. Not very happy with this place. If I could I would give them a 0. For making me deal with Unnecessary stress.

However, everything billing-related has made this experience the absolute worst experience. This may come off harsh, but the fact is Milan Eye Center is incompetent when it comes to billing, and they refuse to take any responsibility. They hire a 3rd party billing company overseas, so every time you call their office to discuss anything "billing-related," you are automatically transferred to their overseas contracted billing partner. Why in the world would you hire such an incompetent company to handle all your billing? This is a multimillion-dollar eyecare practice. We knew this surgery would happen, and switched insurance plans as the new plan had a specific flat in-network $1,000 copay for each eye for Cataract Surgery. The total surgery should have cost $2,000, plus the additional co-payments for other doctor visits/eval pre- and post-surgery. Guess what? Milan Eye Center never billed UHC. At the last moment, we were forced into taking out a $5,000 loan from CareCredit to pay for the Cataract Surgery. To make matters worse, after the surgery, Milan Eye Center billing third party started sending bills for $3,900 for the same surgery. ; First of all. Milan Eye Center will NOT perform any surgery until the costs are all paid off in full, meaning you cannot enter the surgery room, hence why we had to take out the $5,000 loan. So a surgery that should have cost $2,000 with insurance ended up costing $5,000 + now they want another $3,900. Cataract Surgery is not $8,900, including insurance; the total to them should be $10,900? After the surgery, we spoke with the insurance. Milan Eye Center never filed it through them, even though they are in-network. After a year, we finally paid off the $5,000 loan we should have never had to taken out... and now they still want $3,900... The front desk staff was professional and prompt from uploading documents to getting him seen within 15 min of arrival Octavia, the nurse, was very sweet. She introduced herself and gave a bit of background about herself and the purpose of her role during his visit. She asked thorough questions and repeated his responses back to him for clarification. Dr. Shapiro came in 10 min after she entered the notes. He was very nice and polite. He asked follow-up questions that Octavia had previously asked for clarification on. He explained thoroughly why my dad was on specific medications and their role. He ordered bloodwork in which it was done in-house. He also ordered imaging (PET scan) and prescription refills. The Phlobotomist was sweet and funny! She and my dad hit it off well. She suggested he drink more water considering it was difficult to find a vein. My dad says well may I should have had a glass of wine! . She laughed and stated that it would not be a good idea As previously stated check out was good. On the way home I received a call from the office scheduling the PET scan. We were able to get the day/time we wanted. All in all, it was a very good visit! I'm very pleased with the staff and Dr. Shapiro. If you or a family member needs a Urologist, give them a call. From my understanding, there are other locations.

I mean the holes were way off alignment. Not even close. Nine months later the new ligament was barely even visible on the mri because it was so stretched out. When I woke up from the surgery I was in major pain for about 3 weeks. Taking pain pill every 6 hours for weeks. So after all wastes time and misery I found a more reputable dr at resurgen orthopedics. Had another surgery where the surgeon did bone on bone graft and re drilled the holes in my bones in the correct locations this time. And when I woke up from surgery this time I was barely in any pain at all. I quit taking pain pills about 3 days after the surgery because I didn't need them anymore. I couldn't believe it really. Some dr's know how to do it and some don't. Dr golan definitely does not. He basically wasted a year of my life that I will never get back.
