Also, we felt safe walking our dog at night with lights and security. Very clean restrooms and facilities spread out throughout the property. Unfortunately, we arrived at night both times so we did not have time to try all of the amenities but the pool area and gym looked great. After hours check in was easy, and communication from staff was very helpful. The dog park was great, our yellow lab enjoyed running free in the morning! Overall, we'd definitely come back!

The resort is beautiful with lots of great amenities such as a their 18- hole putting course, 2 heated pools and hot tubs, pickleball courts, billiards, a clubhouse and bar, fishing ponds, golf cart rentals, and so much more. The sites are large but unfortunately graveled. With a resort this nice, concrete pads would have been a better choice. The resort is quite large and it could be a bit of a walk depending on your site location so I'd recommend bringing bikes unless you would prefer to rent a golf cart. They have a nice walking path on the property and dog parks and stops for your fury friends along the way. Overall it was a great stay filled with lots of fun memories and beautiful sunsets. So much that our members can't wait to come back next year. Highly recommend this resort.

I don't know if that is how it works all the time because there was a little booth at the entrance, but no one was there at the time. I don't know if they use that during the busy season. They have cabins, shaded structures, and RV spots available. Friends and I had trailers, tent and car camping. We had electric and water available at our sites. I expected to see more trees at the sites. They had trees, but it was more to divide the cabin section from the RV sites. It did provide shade but that was after noonish, and it got hot early in the morning. Thankfully we had our canopy. We also had heavy winds during different times of the day so keep that in mind and make sure your tents and canopy is secure. There are occasional squirrel's so secure your food if you are not going to be around. They have plenty of amenities. My friends used the pool and spa. Great to use when the evenings are warm and for star gazing! I was able to use the showers which were kept very clean (code is needed to enter restrooms and showers). They had a laundry room adjacent to the restrooms, they are coin operated. We did not take advantage of some of the activities that took place in the community room the two nights we were there. We actually stayed at the KOA because it wasn't too far from the venue we were going to see a musician. There is a pickleball court too which we could see from one of our sites. During our visit the park was not busy at all but it is off season. It was very quiet at the campground and it was very clean. Staff was seen often driving around. The convenience store have cute chachi's, but also carry necessities. That includes ice. I wouldn't mind reserving the same sites again. If I return I hope to use the other amenities that are available.

I had picked an RV site but it was scratched out and replaced with another site number. it was two sites away so I didn't mention it. My site was next to a permanent resident fifth wheel in horrible condition. Little did I know it was one of the better permanent RVs there. When you see all the "rules" for campers there you assume this is a nice place. I think they even wanted to know the year of our RV, like they have standards. HA! Went on a walk around and there were junky RVs everywhere that are old, broken RVs surrounded by hoards and hanging laundry (NOT allowed! LOL) Seeing all the permanent septic hoses on the ground and with the "p trap" dip showing they are open 24-7 was awful. Speaking of laundry, after a week in Mexico we had two loads to run. Our friends had one. Luckily there were three working - because only about 30% of the washing machines/dryers were actually functioning. They only had coin operated washers and no change machine. The pool area was older but clean and nice. The pool was cold! There is a separate, covered area with four hot pools of various temperatures. These were well used and I should point out there can be children present - just pointing this out as it can be less then relaxing to have a child playing with dolls in the spa with you. Unfortunately the sauna was not working when I was there. It had some very pretty grounds around the pool for games and barbecue. Nice pond with turtles, too. When we went to leave, we tried to hook up to empty the grey and black tanks. Our septic hook up was modified for a smaller hose size and there was no way for us to be able to use it. Very frustrating and we didn't want find an alternate there since it was quite early in the morning. The guy banging on metal and running equipment behind us hadn't even showed up to make noise yet that morning. After we left we reached out to the management via email and it has been over a week with NO response. We had asked for a partial refund due to the issues mentioned. With no reply, I feel compelled to warn others, since you will have no recourse once they get your money apparently. While we enjoyed the pool for a couple hours and felt like I was pretty safe there, the amenities and services were otherwise lacking and not worth, in my opinion, what we paid. It felt very, "bait and switch." The location was ok for decompressing from our Mexico trip, but next time we will go back the way we came (a hidden gem by Salton Sea)

If you just do the drive, you might not really see everything this park has to offer, so it's worth doing the hikes, even if only the easier ones. We did the Hidden Valley hike, which is only around a 1 mile loop. It can get pretty crowded though and the parking gets filled fast, so it's better to go early. We also went on the Barker Dam hike, which is also just a bit over a mile. This one was my favorite of the two and you get to climb some nice rocks on this hike. We did the other typical stuff like see skull rock, but didn't do this hike, and saw keys view, which is also really nice, but if you do go, it's definitely worth to do some hiking since it makes the experience of this park so much better.

I…read morehave a personal rule: I only count a national park as "visited" if I actually spend time there, hike or walk through it, and truly experience it. On this trip, we visited 14 national parks, and Joshua Tree National Park was one of the most playful and surprising. My husband came up with what may be the park's most accurate unofficial name: "Amazing Boulders National Park... with a few Joshua trees." After spending a couple of days there, I had to admit he had a point. Yes, the Joshua trees are fascinating. These unusual plants are actually members of the yucca family rather than true trees, and they give the landscape a wonderfully whimsical character. But what completely captivated us were the enormous granite boulder formations scattered throughout the park. They seem to have been dropped from the sky by a giant child building a playground. Hiking here is simply fun. Around every corner, another incredible rock formation appears, and before long you find yourself spotting shapes in the rocks: an elephant, a skull, faces, animals, castles... your imagination takes over. Climbing on the boulders brought out our inner children. Unlike many hikes where you simply follow a trail, Joshua Tree encourages exploration and curiosity. One of the most fascinating aspects of the park is that it lies where two distinct deserts meet: the higher, cooler Mojave Desert, home to the Joshua trees, and the lower, hotter Colorado Desert, creating remarkable diversity in both plants and wildlife. We were fortunate to visit while many of the cacti were in bloom, adding splashes of color to the desert. We also enjoyed watching the abundant wildlife, including desert iguanas, ground squirrels, Gambel's quail, and countless birds that make this seemingly harsh environment feel surprisingly alive. The scenery constantly changes, from forests of Joshua trees to giant rock piles, hidden valleys, cholla gardens, and wide-open desert vistas. It is easy to understand why artists, photographers, climbers, and stargazers have been drawn here for generations. Joshua Tree National Park is one of those rare places that makes you smile while you're exploring it. It is beautiful, quirky, imaginative, and incredibly fun. Whether you come to hike, climb, photograph, or simply let your imagination run wild among the boulders, this park is unforgettable. Highly recommended, and if you find yourself calling it "Amazing Boulders National Park," don't worry... you're probably not the first.

It's definitely more on the glamping side. PROS: 1. The location of the site itself is pretty central, close to a popular coffee shop, the main street, and there's a grocery store not too far away. 2. Parking is free and there are EV chargers. 3. The staff is friendly and accommodating and they have a centralized phone number you can text should you need anything 4. They let guests borrow an induction stove and pots/pans for no additional charge 5. Their general store is open 24/7, I believe, and you can buy anything you can think of and the prices are not jacked 6. The free granola in the morning was delicious! 7. I loved the bathroom inside our suite, considering it's of good size and it felt like we were in an actual room CONS: 1. For what it's worth, I did find some stuff inside our Airstream that look dated. Like on top of my head, a tissue holder in the bathroom that has a chipped container, stain on the kitchen countertop from what I assume was from the stove, the blanket being very dusty when we opened it, etc. The TV in the room is also not smart tv and not really sure if it has channels either. I just feel like these areas could be more maintained especially if it's brander as a luxury glamping experience 2. The mini fridge is barely cold. Good thing we only really need to store some meat to grill for a few hours. 3. Check in time is 4 pm and check out is 10 am-- I just think that's too much and not the standard anymore. Why do hotels need 6 hours to clean a single suite? Overall, we enjoyed our time and still think it was worth trying at least once! We felt really safe during the entire stay as the property is secured.
