This place is great it's just a few miles from Joshua tree national Park and a few more to Route 66. The facilities are excellent. They have cabins and space for RVs of all sizes. Next door to golf. Bathrooms and showers are clean and well-maintained, there's a decent gym, a pool,, and a sauna but the best of all - a big Jacuzzi with many *Mother of All Jets* astonishingly strong nozzle-like jets that give you a fine back massage. And a barbecue large enough for a whole camel. Nice place read more

the advertised amenities do not exist. the pool was open but not heated. other than that there was absolutely nothing. no hot tub or sauna. The grilling areas and outdoor game areas are all overgrown and look like they haven't been tended to in years. They assigned us a place in the last row farthest from the pool and office. Very little shade compared to other areas that no one was at so it made no sense for us to be so far. And the free WiFi was actually a hotspot only at the office. So the two stars comes from the one office lady who was nice and the pool/bathroom. read more

Terrible atmosphere- AVOID! The old man refused to rent a lot to to me because I am a combat wounded totally disabled veteran with an ADA Certified Service Dog. He discriminated against me because of my disability! The old man made up some excuse not to rent to me, that they don't accept motorhomes or RVs older than 10 years when every single occupied lot had a motorhome or RV that was ten years old. I posted a photo of my motorhome- try to tell me it's too old- look at it. I intend to file a federal ADA violation complaint against them and hold them accountable for their blatant discrimination- standby! read more

Nice Folks, Very Accommodating, Nice Amenities - NEAR MCCS 29 Palms BUT NO DoD Affiliation. Location: Don't let the name turn you away, this is NOT for the Marine Corps Base. However, it is very close so if you're visiting friends there but cannot stay on base its a great choice. Ambiance: Clean, well kept and welcoming. Some folks are residents. Others are staying for awhile but most are just passing through. But all were polite and neighborly. Service: Although the office hours are limited they are very helpful, and the codes will get you into all the buildings you need. Quality: Good. The price is double the Marine base but reasonable in comparison to other RV parks in the area. But unlike some of their competitors, this place is clean and safe with loads of amenities. Our only complaint was, unless you get a pull through pad, the space between RV's is tighter than we like. Our back into pad was so close to our neighbors either their RV's or the trees prevented us from being able to put our our awning. The picnic tables were also small, fitting 4 pers, limiting room for laying out camping and climbing gear that needed cleaning. Cleanliness: Although we didn't use the showers (so can't comment) I can assume it was as clean as the rest of the place. read more

We just stayed in one of the cabins at this campground. The layer of dust and grime on all of the surfaces was the easy issue to deal with. After disinfecting the entire place, I checked the beds for bedbugs before putting anything on them only to find hair all over the sheets. I was offered another cabin where the bedroom lighting was not sufficient to see a spider, let alone hair on the bed. Luckily was able to get clean sheets that I put on myself. The carpet and floors were disgusting so I would not let my kids to even walk around in socks, shoes stayed on at all times. One of the beds was in such crazy motion that my son was asking if this was a water bed. Not sure how it did not break and btw they are barely full (NOT Queen). Their accessible bathroom facilities were locked with a 4 digit code BUT are locked with a key lock overnight. If you need to go to the bathroom between 10pm and 8am you are out of luck. You can rent a bathroom key for $10 a night!!!! This is on top of paying $200 a night for a roach motel room. Staff had an attitude but did try to "accommodate" without any apologies as if all of the above is standard. Joshua Tree accommodations were a major bust and a big rip off!!!! The only saving grace is the location to the park. read more

Just ended our four day Safari of Southern California Rally. We have stayed at this park for several years and unanimously plan to return next year. The park is spotlessly clean and well maintained, and all of the staff is friendly and helpful. We must give a special shout-out to Bobbi, the activities director, and her husband, Jimmy. They made all of our meals and activities flow so seamlessly. In fact, they willing were available very early, and late, and helped us with all of our needs. The club house was immaculate at all times in spite of our large group. They make this Rally a wonderful standout in our schedule. Pretty nice campground. Thankfully they do have pullthrus but they have no trees. Plants, shrubs or seperation of any kind. I know it's the desert but from the pictures it looked more like an oasis than a parking lot. That aside it was great though. Nice bathrooms and showers. The office/store is nice. Full hooks are always great and this place has them. This place is very close to one of the Joshua Tree National Forest entrances which is wonderful and why we wanted to stay. It's TwentyNine Palms. The Twentynine Palms "Last Resort" is what we call it. Imagine, a parking lot with tumbleweeds rolling by, dilapidated RVs as your neighbor and then being right next to the roadway and artillery base. That's why we come here mainly to dump the tanks in our RV. When Joshua Tree is full, this place may have vacancy. full hookups (bring your surge protectors) and propane. The office is stocked with nominal pricey items and nearby is a coin op laundromat. They advertise their indoor pool as an amenity, I didn't want to risk getting sick so I didn't try it. read more

Easy to check in after hours and very easy to find after dark. Awesome accommodations. Incredible bargain for the price! Adorable living area, AC, TV which also has a dinette, Full kitchen, Full bath, and comfy bed. (I will bring extra pillows next time but that's just our thing.) Also, outstanding ribs, great Chinese delivery, Mexican restaurants, and a US Marines sort of town due to the base so feel safe, secure, and very patriotic. :) read more

Booked a 1 bedroom cottage for 3 nights for my first trip to Joshua Tree. Kitchen was nicely stocked with bowls/plates/utensils, gas stovetop, oven, microwave, refrigerator/freezer. Could've used a sponge to do dishes more effectively. Living room was nice, spacious. DirecTV with a nice selection of channels, albeit on a small TV. AC units in the living room and bedroom were nice and cold. Bed was a bit stiff and springy and a bit small for 2, but it got it done. I had some kind of wifi while I was there, but I wouldn't guarantee it since it wasn't the same network they suggest. Try a couple of the non-password protected ones and you might get lucky like I did. There's a grill and patio area in the back, but we didn't use it. Great rates, nice place, and great location to get to the north side of Joshua Tree National Park. I always appreciate a place to stay with a full kitchen. Would definitely come back here. read more

The pool is closed due to COVID, but the bathrooms and laundry room are immaculately clean. There are trees for shade over the parking spots. Great location for exploring Joshua Tree, Morongo Canyon, and beyond. Neighboring folks are friendly, and respectful of quiet time. Sunsets and star watching have been terrific. Worst RV park for the price. Very poorly upkeep of camp grounds. Actually paid extra for a premium lot. What a joke!! Dog park was a dirt lot with tumbleweeds. No landscaping, weeds dominated the campground. If rv's weren't there, it would look like an abandoned lot. Only things that were decently kept up, were the pool and bathrooms. It was an AWESOME option for us in our small RV. It was $150 with taxes for a Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Get there via Amboy Rd. Very clean - very friendly people - the hot tub and pool were fabulous after long days at Joshua Tree. The Oasis - Joshua Tree Visitor Center entrance is just about 1.5 miles away. Showers where VERY good! Only disappointment - our spot had no bbq or picnic table, as we thought it would have via their website description. Pet friendly. read more

The fact that there is someplace here is enough to earn 3 stars. Ladies are helpful but good luck finding it. GPS will not take you through the main gate so make sure you hit that entry instead of the other gate that is not always open The office is not at the park. Wasn't so impressed as the reviews on the website make you believe. They chose the 5 star reviews to put on their website. We stayed at a cottage so I'm not sure about the RV section. We arrived about 8 pm and had to look around the building and online for an after-hours phone number because the front office closed at 6pm. We found an after hours phone number in a glass display outside the front office, but had to really search to find it. It would make more sense to post it on the front door. Luckily there was a gentleman on site that arrived about 5 mins after we called. The cottage was clean, but there was just 2 cooking pots in the kitchenette. Most of the dishes weren't clean either. Also, there wasn't any maids to made up the rooms the next morning. Apparently they all called out sick. (For the cost, I would expect servicing) We could not connect to the wifi, which you need in a rural area like this because cell signal doesn't always work. We even called about it, but they gave us the wrong password, or else it just didn't work. There is a hot tub, a small restaurant and a pool, but we did not check any of them out. Lastly, I forgot a personal item in the cottage. I called the front dest about it after I arrived home, but they absolutely refused to mail it to me. The manager said they have no obligation to mail it back, which of course is understandable, but it's called customer service. Of course I offered to pay to have it returned, but the manager adamantly refused to mail it. She was very argumentative about the whole issue, which is why I'd rather not stay there again. Disappointing, to say the least. Update: I increased my star rating to a 3 Star after this: After 3 days of trying to get my belonging mailed to me one of the managers called and said that they placed my belonging in a box however, it was up to me to arrange pick up through a postal company. I asked if I could send someone a check or just charge my credit card, but they said no. They we're 'too busy' to actually take it to the post office. They said the only way to get it back was to arrange it through UPS. I was finally able to arrange it, but it took quite an effort. The owner called my after my initial review, which shows she really cares about the customers, and I appreciated her efforts so that's why I raised my rating to a 3 Star. She apologized on behalf of the staff and was looking for ways to avoid issues like this in the future. Hopefully other people will have a much better experience because of this. We booked our cabin several weeks in advance and were looking forward to the trip. Unfortunately, a family member became extremely ill and we had to postpone our trip. We had booked the trip through Travelocity and I used Travelocity to cancel our reservations. When cancelling I saw that we were charged a minimum of one nights stay as a cancellation fee. I made a note to myself to call them the next day and see if I could get them to waive it..... I didn't get the chance. They called me the next morning and told me they were going to refund the charge. I can guarantee, when I do get the chance to visit Joshua Tree National Park, I'll be staying at the TwentyNine Palms Resort. read more

We stayed here as we wanted to visit Joshua Tree National Park. Very close to the park. RV spot was easy to maneuver into location. Office staff was great and check in was very easy. The only drawback was that there was no cable tv so we watched films in the evening. read more

We stayed in one of their cabins on May 24-25-26, 2019. First a couple of notes: I never spoke to any management other than to call and advise that we would be arriving late. There is a sign that says after hours check in, and right below it is a bulletin board, you have to keep looking down to find the late check in info. That said, check in was very simple. We ended up leaving before they opened, so we just dropped the keys in the box on the way out. The cabin was a small one bedroom with a double bed, a full kitchen including pans, plates, utensils, fridge, microwave, coffeepot and stove. There were only a couple/few of everything, as this is a room for 2 and not designed for a family of 5, so in my opinion what was supplied was fine. There was a small living room area with a couch and recliner. There was paved parking next to our door (great as we were on a motorcycle), and a back patio area with a gas BBQ Grill. The cabin was clean and well kept. AC worked great, and the double bed was comfortable. (Since I am 6ft tall, it reminded me of why I own a CalKing bed.) Shower was at a comfortable height for me. The Wifi worked most of the time, but we were not there to surf the internet. Info states that WiFi is only at the office area, and since we were towards the end of the cabins, I guess having any WiFi is good. I do think better WiFi would be important for those staying longer than a couple of days. The camp ground was quiet and from what I saw of the grounds it was kept up nicely. It is a desert, so do not expect a lush grass area. The site was easy to find, and my GPS took me directly to it. Since we were in a cabin, I cannot comment on any of the RV hookup or parking. We have decided that on our future trips to Joshua Tree we will be staying here. read more

I don't know how anyone could give his place a decent review. The owners and management clearly have no investment in keeping the property maintained. It is overgrown and completely dilapidated. They have people working in the park but I have no idea what they actually do. The worst part about staying there was the close proximity to the military base. It's only a few miles away and they are constantly setting off ammunition all day long. It is extremely loud and unpredictable, it was unnerving for us and it totally stressed our dogs out. It's cheap to stay here for a reason. I also had problems with the maintenance people. They broke the valve handle on my propane tank and this charged me for propane that I couldn't use and would not rectify the situation. I had to end up getting a new tank and they wouldn't refund me. I will never stay here again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else, especially if they travel with animals. read more

Stayed here for 3 nights in our travel trailer. We had a "premium pull thru." There wasn't really anything premium about them. No shade at these sites, if you want shade, then get one of the back-in sites. We didn't use the amenities. This place isn't great, but it's not bad...average...3 stars. read more

Having stayed in the RV park a few times in the past year for 3-4 weeks at a time, I have to say Twentynine Palms RV Resort is very comfortable: many washing machines, great pool and spa, and friendly office staff. A young man named Martin was especially polite and professional, apologizing when the pool was under maintenance and letting us know when it was ready. They say they have WIFI. They do but, it doesn't work 90% of the time and when you say something to them they want to act like they didn't know. Then they will tell you it's not working because people are using it to Skype. Other than the WIFI, the place is pretty good. We stayed there for 6 months. We didn't use the RV hook ups or sites but had a group and stayed in the cottages. The two bedroom is fine but lacks an eating area and has a small "living room" area. The one bedroom deluxe that my friend had was great. Large kitchen, large dining area and large living area with a pull out sofa-would do that next time instead of the 2 bedroom. The kitchens were fully stocked with all necessary cooking utensils. It is close to the Joshua Tree National Park entrance which was great and had full size indoor pool (they said it was heated but fairly cold), really large indoor Jacuzzi spa (which was great), sauna, fitness room, shuffleboard, horseshoe pits, tennis court, game room, and other facilities and amenities only available to guests. Would stay here again if going back to Joshua Tree-great for the price. read more
