I was hoping the desert air would make the impossible, possible. Arrived on a day with nothing but blue skies. They had lockers to store my belongings; robes and slippers are included for the day. They offer facials, massages, and body treatments. It was so nice to unwind and bask in simple pleasures that life has to offer. I took a dip in all the pools from one to the next; I love mineral pools. Something about this mineral water feels like magic. Time just froze. It was as if my whole life led up to this moment. Nevertheless, sky gazing is allowed and in fact encouraged to watch the clouds drift. Birds chirping was music to my ears. The plants were oxygenating and the landscape was therapeutic. Staff and guests were friendly. Prime spot for spa-goers. Welcoming inspiration. Get inspired today. You know people are known to see water in the middle of the desert...Was it all a mirage? Did it really happen? I think I just talked myself into going back--I need a redo. #DontBeBlueBeYou #IndulgeInBliss #BestVersionOfMe "As you walk through the desert of life, may you always find your oasis!" Tips: Robes, slippers, and lockers are included in day pass

The staff was attentive, and everything felt well organized. We had dinner at Aquifer65 & JW Sushi Bar one night, and it was fantastic. We also enjoyed dinner at Mikado Japanese Steakhouse, where the hibachi experience was both entertaining and delicious. The rooms are a bit underwhelming compared to the rest of the property, but the overall experience more than makes up for it. The pools, grounds, and amenities make this a great place to spend a long weekend. I'd definitely recommend staying here--just be prepared if you're visiting in the summer. The 104-degree desert heat is no joke, so plan on spending plenty of time in the pool and staying hydrated!

This property is both a family and couples Desert dream. My husband and son love the golf course especially early in the morning when the sun has not quite baked the course. I enjoy the onsite Starbucks and rejuvenating spa. The grandbabies love the flamingo habitat, the boats, the koi pond, the arcade and the miniature golf course in no particular order. There are plenty of onsite restaurants to choose from including a Sushi Bar in the middle of the main hotel lower lobby with a view of the lake which is also in the main hotel's lower lobby. There is a cigar lounge, and plenty of shops all on property. Busy moms and Mimi's alike would appreciate such conveniences. You will only find helpful, knowledgeable and courteous staff here. Note: The Resort fee covers driving range, bicycles, and mini golf. The JW Marriott Desert Springs is a top tier staycation for sure.

Came here on recommendation from a friend. The pools are beautiful and it's not crowded. Few guests, probably intentionally limited. The spas are great. We reserved a wood hot tub and a private tub (free reservations when you stay overnight) but honestly didn't even need it since there were plenty of tubs open. So did we need hot springs when it was 90F out? Not really but it was lovely. Staff friendly, warm welcome at the gate and reception. Much appreciated cold drinks from the bar and limited poolside and from your hot tub drink service. Restaurant served up nice sounding food with good elements but not quite out together well. Like some mushy forbidden rice under fantastically prepared lamb, or rubbery fried Halloumi on a very crisp and perfectly dressed bed of arugula. Not sure why none of it worked together but on paper it looked great. In real life was more unique. Overall a very relaxing stay. It's really close to J tree so pretty far from LA and San Diego which is great if you want / need privacy. Grounds are lovely with a duck and turtle pond. Tons of upsells here ($400 massage? I'll just fly to Thailand thanks). A couple free classes we didn't attend. 7:45 am yoga not happening on a retreat where we sleep in.

SO MANY COCKROACHES…read more There are A LOT of cockroaches here. When the sun goes down, they're running all over the walkways. It's a bit unnerving. They're also in the rooms - we found 3 in our room, told staff, they said they would send someone but never did. They just said "oh no! Apologies for the inconvenience" They're also in the pools. Our last night, sitting in the shallow meditation pool, I felt something on my shoulder, swiped it away and discovered it was the most massive 2.5 inch cockroach on me frantically trying to swim away. It was my worst nightmare. After that, every little thing I felt I kept thinking was another cockroach crawling on me. Really soured our experience here. Yes the grounds are beautiful, the waters are incredible, restaurant food was good, the bed was super comfortable, and our favorite part is the pools are open 22 hours a day (closed from 6-8am for cleaning) which means we can enjoy them late at night when most people are sleeping - a rare thing to do at a resort as most places prevent guests from enjoying any public water therapy after 9 or 10 at night. It has the potential to be a really amazing place but after seeing probably 30+ cockroaches on the property, in our room, and then crawling on me, I just can't really recommend this place as a peaceful sanitary getaway. I mean this place is infested and the resort doesn't seem to really care how much it's negatively impacting their guests. So if they don't care, then I'm certainly not going to be a patron of their business. If they reach out and try to make it right, if they improve then I'll update my review.

The beach was clean and relaxing, and the pool had an awesome vibe with a live DJ playing music throughout the day. Overall, this resort delivered a wonderful experience with beautiful accommodations, great amenities, and a lively yet relaxing atmosphere. We'd definitely stay here again!

Ultimate Bait-and-Switch: Deceptive Photos, No Water, and Financial Theft…read moreBefore relying on older reviews, know this: The Lake Arrowhead Inn was bought out by a new owner a year ago, and hospitality has been replaced by predatory business practices. As a savvy traveler who spends 30-40 days a year in hotels, I have never seen a property run this deceptively. The Illusion: The rooms are vastly smaller in reality than the wide-angle marketing photos on their website lead you to believe. The Bait-and-Switch: We booked a premium Lake View room for our anniversary. Upon arrival, they gave our room away. While I empathized with the staff reassigning it to accommodate a handicapped party, the owner used it as an opportunity to scam us. Hostile Management: When I requested a rate adjustment for the cheaper, downgraded room, the owner became combative on the phone, refused any change, and tried to blame Expedia for his own greed. Zero Amenities: We reluctantly accepted the cramped room just to get ready for a private event, only to find the water was completely shut off with no timeline for repair. The Theft: With no running water, we had to walk away. The owner completely refused a refund, forcing us to eat the entire cost and pay for a second hotel out of pocket. This owner will take your money, provide zero basic infrastructure, and leave you stranded. Do not gamble your hard-earned money or special occasions here. Look elsewhere.

First, the biggest issue: roaches and spiders. Yes, you read that correctly. There were both roaches and spiders in my room. When I reported it to the front desk, I was shocked by the response. The employee simply said, "That's common here," as if it were completely normal. Instead of offering a meaningful solution, they handed me a new toothbrush because a roach had crawled all over mine. And that was it! Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed. I've contacted the corporate office and hope they'll offer a refund or some other form of resolution. The food was decent, but it was overpriced. You won't find much on the menu for under $13. On a positive note, the spa was wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed my treatments, and the staff there were warm, professional, and genuinely caring. Along with the kitchen staff, servers, and bartenders, they provided excellent customer service. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the front desk, whose response to a serious cleanliness issue fell far short of what I expected. The furniture is falling apart and the floor is stained. The cleanliness of this place is unfortunately subpar. There were random rags just laying around for some reason, and no one picked them up (so I did). Very disappointing for the amount of money I spent...
