I usually stay here once or twice a year mainly for the dock fishing with my son. Unfortunately, that's shut down at the moment due to safety repairs, so I thought I'd throw this review in lieu of my stay this time around. I travel quite a bit for work which requires me to stay in hotels regularly. For how long this place has been around, I feel like the condition of the rooms and cleanliness is on par with most places that are getting to the point of needing those bigger renovations and updates. Hotels can only do so much in terms of piecemeal repairs and updates, and anything near water tends to get battered by the elements a little bit more than other places. I look forward to the dock repairs, so I can get back to catching bluegill, crappie, trout, and bass with my boy. A lot of great memories here. I hope to keep them coming. read more

We had a great stay at Arrowhead Resort & Spa! From the moment we walked in, the beautiful lobby made a fantastic first impression. It felt welcoming, clean, and had a relaxing atmosphere that set the tone for the rest of our visit. Check-in was quick and easy, and the staff made the process smooth and hassle-free. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable, making it easy to unwind after a day of exploring. One of the highlights was the beach and pool area. The beach was clean and relaxing, and the pool had an awesome vibe with a live DJ playing music throughout the day. Ultimate Bait-and-Switch: Deceptive Photos, No Water, and Financial Theft ​Before relying on older reviews, know this: The Lake Arrowhead Inn was bought out by a new owner a year ago, and hospitality has been replaced by predatory business practices. ​As a savvy traveler who spends 30-40 days a year in hotels, I have never seen a property run this deceptively. ​The Illusion: The rooms are vastly smaller in reality than the wide-angle marketing photos on their website lead you to believe. ​The Bait-and-Switch: We booked a premium Lake View room for our anniversary. Upon arrival, they gave our room away. While I empathized with the staff reassigning it to accommodate a handicapped party, the owner used it as an opportunity to scam us. ​Hostile Management: When I requested a rate adjustment for the cheaper, downgraded room, the owner became combative on the phone, refused any change, and tried to blame Expedia for his own greed. ​Zero Amenities: We reluctantly accepted the cramped room just to get ready for a private event, only to find the water was completely shut off with no timeline for repair. ​The Theft: With no running water, we had to walk away. The owner completely refused a refund, forcing us to eat the entire cost and pay for a second hotel out of pocket. ​This owner will take your money, provide zero basic infrastructure, and leave you stranded. I was here over the weekend and I have to say the place is disgustingly dirty. From the very simple rugs that were heavily soiled stains all over the room. The bathroom was not disinfected there was hair and dust all over the bathroom and shower. The wall paper as you can see in the room was peeling the television as you can see had the word reception in the world. Lines in every direction. The sliding glass door was difficult to open and close. The balcony table and chairs were very dirty. The small live seat in the room was dirty as well. We called down stairs to see if we could have a different room and was told that's the only one they had! Really? They lied I'm sure. We PAID ALMOST $400.00 dollars for each night for that price you should expect a spotless room with great service . Please avoid this Hotel if you can , I would rent a little home next time as this was not worth the cost. The filthy room experience took away from the other amenities they offer . Customer service was excellent, views were beautiful, lobby is exquisite. However, room had some concerns. Toilet paper holder was falling off, paper kept falling to the floor...and worse... shower wasn't clean. Indicator was the cartoon left on the door. Front desk was informed and laughed about it. Honeymoon Getaway... 3/24/2026 thru 3/26/2026 I planned the honeymoon getaway about a month ago. When I started talking over the phone with the staff they were always very friendly. One of the things that was really impressive to me was when my sister wanted access to the room just before we arrived to decorate the room as a surprise to my newlywed wife. The Lake Arrowhead Resort was very accommodating for that to happen. Just so you know everything worked out perfectly in regards to that. The place is a bit dated.. As you walk around and see things that need to be repaired..To be honest, these things did not change the outcome of our stay.. Our suite was super comfortable and quiet.. The bed was comfortable and we slept well.. We had a great view of the lake from our balcony to enjoy coffee in the morning and the wine in the evening. The bathroom is spacious and away from the spa tub and the shower.. The only thing about the room that was the very limited channels available on tv and some channels had poor picture quality.. We were suprised with a bottle of wine and chocolate dipped fruit and a very nice letter to enjoy our honeymoon.. I am from the Mountain area so a bit of rustic charm was a good thing. Unfortunately, my interaction with the front desk and security ruined the experience. After a morning sound bath in the spa, my room key didn't work. At front desk, I was asked for my name and ID, which I didn't have on me since I'd just come from the spa. I was made to wait for security. During this time, the front desk staff made comments suggesting uncertainty about my identity, which felt accusatory rather than procedural. When head security came to my room, he was aggressive, snatched my ID from my hand despite me holding it up. Very unnecessary and disrespectful. To test whether this was standard procedure, my sister-in-law...who is white, stayed in a different room, and has a different last name -- experienced the same key issue the following day. She was issued a replacement key immediately, without being asked for ID or involving security. This strongly suggests bias in how policies are enforced. 4/5 We arrived early from Vegas for Mother's Day weekend and tried to check in early. The front desk receptionist was super friendly and accommodating. Since our room wasn't ready yet, they gave us beach access cards while we waited, which we really appreciated. We ended up walking to the village for breakfast (about a 6 minute walk) and did the boat tour while waiting. Around 12 PM, we received both a text and a call that our room was ready. The room was clean and the lake view was absolutely beautiful. The kids loved the pool, and we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. We also went down to the lake to catch the sunset, which was definitely a highlight even though the water was freezing. They had movie night and game room as well. The only downside was the TV in our room. It was pretty outdated, static at times, and we wished it had Netflix or streaming options where we could log into our own accounts. The hot tub could've also been cleaner. Overall, it was still such a relaxing getaway and a perfect Mother's Day trip for the family. We'll definitely be back again! read more

The review is purely for the wedding venue tour we had here, as well as the food at the restaurant that we got to try. Can't comment on the rooms since we didn't stay here but the lobby and public spaces are all very well kept in my opinion, and very clean. Our wedding tour was very thoughtful and communication was prompt throughout. Shout out to Kim Andersen who walked us through our wedding proposal and gave one of the best property tours we've gotten after we've been comparing between 5-10 different venues all across LA and San Bernardino. The tour was very thorough, ending with a clear proposal that will be very helpful as we make our final decision on the venue. She even kindly accommodated our request to get a tasting in advance, which they didn't have to allow but they graciously did. For any engaged couples looking to do a wedding, I fully trust the service and level of detail this place offers as far as a ceremony and reception goes, and the venue space has a nice balance of indoor/outdoor vibes. The venue is highly competitive with what they offer in their packages and it's re-assuring that they seemed very buttoned up in making sure all coordination is on point for your wedding day. For the food itself, chicken was slightly tough but could just be a one-off. I thoroughly enjoyed my salmon plate and I think it's re-assuring testament that they can do a good job with the food by allowing for a tasting option in advance and allow you start thinking through what menu items you prefer. read more

There's a great little beach area and you also get the enjoyment of a pool as well. Staff was very nice and the game room for kids (although small) was fun. The building itself could use some upkeep. When we drove up, I was disappointed. The exterior needs a lot of TLC. The resort is large and very dated. In our room, both sliding doors were loud and squealed. Our carpet was stained as well. Wall paper was peeling in areas. On the other hand, the location couldn't be better. Walking distance to the village and grocery store. In the evening they have a fire pit on the beach and we roasted marshmallows. My kids liked the game room and evening movies. Access to the dock to fish was also very nice. The resort had chairs for guests on both the beach and dock which I appreciated. The pool area was nice and you could purchase food and drinks poolside. Downside, only one spa was working. I was able to talk to other guests at the pool one day. The lady I spoke with said she grew up coming to this resort. Being that Lake Arrowhead is a HOA private lake, having access to a beach area and a fishing dock is uncommon for the area, and a great amenity in staying here. The reason I give this resort a 4 star instead of a lower rating is because of the staff. The front desk was very helpful in many instances and gave us great ideas of things to do in the area. We had a Lakeview room so a little pricey I was very disappointed as soon as we arrived the people who checked us in in the front desk basically just said enjoy your stay, didn't let us know about any of the amenities any helpful hints nothing about anything as it was our first time. So we didn't know we could enjoy the steam room or that part of the spa. Me and my husband got couple massages it was mediocre at best $464 for a couples massage no add-ons nothing that was the price for a basic massage which we thought was wild cause it wasn't even a full hour and they didn't even get started right away. Our appointment was for 12. We got started around 1215 by one we were done. The curtains in our room were ripped looked very old I will say bed was comfy and pillows too . Let me start with a good review...the location of this property is excellent. It's very convenient, easily accessible and close to the lake which made it appealing for our stay. Upon arrival, Lia at the front desk was welcoming and courteous. She asked if we needed two room keys; although we mentioned that one would be enough, she still provided us with two. The room itself was decent. however, we encountered a few issues. The balcony door could not be locked which was concerning. While I was working on my laptop at the table, I began to feel intense itchiness on both of my legs. I tried using wet paper towels to relieve it but it was with so much discomfort so I eventually had to stop and walked away. At around 6 PM, my wife and I went to use the hot tub which was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. Unfortunately, the water temperature was warm, or maybe less than warm. So much so that most guests could not stay longer than 15 minutes. We did stay for a good 30minutes. Another guest even asked his wife to report it to the front desk. When she came back, she said that the issue had already been reported earlier but it appeared that no action had been taken. The chlorine level seemed extremely strong. The following day which is today, after doing laundry, my wife pointed out that the underwear I wore in the hot tub had changed color, from black to brown. compared to my underwear. Along with that, I've been experiencing ongoing itchiness, irritation and dryness on my legs and other parts of my body since using the hot tub. read more

an absolute dump~ dont go--staff even says owners don't want to spend a dime on it--my guess is that its being torn down. trashed rooms, trashed hallways, no signals to any of televisions in rooms. carpet has holes and tears, mattress was like plywood, lampshades full of dirt, furniture old and nasty--horrible place--all this and more for $600.00 +--also exterior of building is peeling and full of dry rot--an embarrassment! and we had what they called the "summit" or "presidential" suite...a total joke. some staff was nice especially matthew in restaurant. read more

I'll start with the positives. Everything was clean--which, let's be honest, is the bare minimum--but still, points for delivering. The front desk staff were nice, if a bit on the robotic side. Pleasant, just not exactly warm and fuzzy. We did skip turn-down service, but when we asked for one fresh towel and a washcloth, the response felt... less than enthusiastic. Maybe it was an off moment, but it didn't leave the best impression. We also ate at the restaurant--food was good, not amazing, but definitely enjoyable. The real highlight there was the staff and the view. Both were great, and you really can't beat that lakeside setting. Speaking of which, our room had a beautiful lake view (apparently we got lucky), though looking straight down was... an interesting choice. (See photo.) It seems like a small fix could make that area look a lot better without much effort. And that's where the positives wrap up. The thermostat in the room wasn't working properly--it was 54 degrees in the morning. We mentioned it to staff on the way out, but not exactly the wake-up experience we were going for. The bedding also needs serious attention. The pillows were lumpy, the sheets and blankets felt worn out, and the extra blanket in the closet had the texture of a Brillo pad. Not ideal when you're trying to get comfortable. At around 2 PM, I went looking for coffee and found the coffee spot closed--which is surprising, especially since there's no complimentary coffee offered. I ended up ordering one from the bar for $10.78, and at that price, I expected something a little better. Finally, at checkout, I noticed we had been charged for the restaurant three times when we only dined there twice. It was corrected, but being told they're "usually very diligent about that" wasn't exactly reassuring in the moment. Overall, it feels like the hotel has a lot of potential, but there are several small details that add up. A little more attention to comfort, service, and consistency would go a long way in making the experience match the setting. read more

We're loving our stay at the resort! I was a little worried after reading some recent reviews, but our experience has been great, from booking to check-in to housekeeping. We arrived early and the front desk gave us wristbands so we could hit the pool and beach right away. The lobby is spacious and comfortable, and the bar served amazing drinks, Orange Julius mocktails for the kids and delicious cocktails for us adults. No rush, just vacation mode. Michelle at check-in was fantastic and got us adjoining first-level rooms facing the lake (highly recommend and worth it for the view). Rooms are clean and nicely furnished; yes, a little wear here and there, but nothing to fuss over. Shoutout to Maria B. from housekeeping, she was wonderful and so appreciative of a tip (please tip your housekeeping staff!). We've been walking into the village for meals (Cadillac Cowboy BBQ was a win, Belgian Waffle Works for breakfast), and even caught a rainbow trout off the dock one morning. The private beach here is perfect. We've been choosing it over the kid-packed pool. Bottom line: we're having a great time! My advice is to ignore the chronic complainers, be kind to the staff, and enjoy the beautiful setting. read more

This survey is directed towards housekeeping and quality control operations. I stayed in room 235 on 08/01 to 08/03. Upon checking into my room late that evening, I noticed that the bathtub drain was not working properly. Since it was close to 11 PM, I decided to wait until the next day to report it. Around 7 AM the following day I reported the issue to Michelle at the front desk. She was very polite and sent a technician to my room within 30 minutes. The technician advise me that it was too early in the morning to snake the drain and that he will be back later on to complete the service order. I thanked him and gave him approval to enter my room since I was going to be away from the room during the day. As we were getting ready in the morning, I noticed that the inner curtain for the sliding door was missing, and it appeared that someone yanked it off, which basically gave us no privacy. I also noticed an excessive amount of stains on the carpet which appeared to have been from the previous guest since majority of the stains were still moist. At that point I had seen enough and I usually wait until the end of my stay to report my findings and dissatisfaction, but I needed to make it a point to address it now so that front desk was aware of the poor condition of the room. Michelle was very apologetic and offered us a refund on the resort fees. Unfortunately, because of the lack of room availability, she was not able to find us another room for the weekend. I was baffled that housekeeping did not notice the drain issue since they're supposed to clean the tub at the end of every stay. Also, the lack of them not reporting the curtain missing as well as how filthy the carpet was. This room should've never been offered to the public until the repairs and cleaning was done properly . It appears that there is a huge gap in quality control when it comes to housekeeping and I fear this will continue to be a problem if it's not addressed properly. This was my 10th time staying at the Lake Arrowhead Resort and I noticed a huge shift since the resort was sold off and lost its AAA Four Diamond Award quality. Please go back to the basics. Take the client's feedback and concerns and actually do something to address them. This place has great potential with an AMAZING location it just requires quality control, consistency and strong leadership to bring it back to its glory. Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa is a beautiful getaway in the mountains. My (now) fiancée surprised me after our engagement with a stay here in their presidential suite. I wish I could say check in was a breeze. Unfortunately all of their systems were down so we had to check in using our phones which was difficult with little service. Not their fault but it was a lengthy process when a lot of guests were trying to check in at the same time. The suite was absolutely stunning with a view of the lake. There was champagne and strawberries waiting for us which was a great touch. My fiancé planned a private dining experience for the two of us. We got to eat in their private dining room with a prefixed menu. The food was delicious and the service was very attentive since there were only two of us. I will say I was exhausted from the adrenaline of the day so I didn't eat or drink very much. We did have lunch here the next day and the shrimp tacos were so incredible I still crave them!! My fiancé said working with the hotel was really great preparing for the weekend. They were very responsive and helpful to him! Spa Lake Arrowhead Resort If you're in Lake Arrowhead and your body needs a reset, don't skip a massage here--and absolutely do the add-ons. I booked a Swedish massage and added the CBD oil + Warm Stone Muscle Melt, and it was next-level. The CBD melts that "held" tension, and the warm stones feel like your muscles finally unclench and remember how to soften. My therapist was Ken, and I felt lucky to get him again (I had him last time in April too). He's grounded, intuitive, and really listens to what your body is asking for--without overdoing it. Also: arrive early. You can take advantage of the whirlpool and steam room, which sets the whole experience up perfectly. Next time, I'm making it a point to join one of the sound baths they offer on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday--because the vibe here is already so calming, I know that would be incredible. And the facility is gorgeous--clean, serene, and truly mountain-luxury. This is the kind of massage day that doesn't just relax you... it calls you back to the mountains. We have been doing an annual trip here for the past 4 years! Rooms are outdated, but we always get the room facing the lake with a balcony which makes it enjoyable. Staff are always so nice willing to help when we are in need of assistance. The resort itself does offer some awesome activities like a scavenger hunt for the kids to earn a special treat, movie night, game room, spa, fitness center, access to a private beach, and good food at the restaurant. Ava the hostess was amazing at Bin 189. So sweet and kind. Great property to just walk around with your families embracing the beauty of nature. Walking distance to Lake Arrowhead Village offering all kinds of shops and restaurants facing the lake. This is a great resort to bring your family for a short term vacation or even just a night. The check in experience and interactions with staff were fine. Unfortunately the rooms are in bad condition. The seal on the shower in my room was nonexistent, when I stepped out of the shower the entire bathroom was covered in water and took several towels to somewhat mop up. This is not ok, especially you're paying over $300 a night. The rest of the room felt dirty, old stained furniture and shredded headboards. Would definitely stay elsewhere read more

Disappointing Stay - Did Not Deliver on Promised Lakeside View 1 out of 5 stars Date of stay: December 2025 I booked a "Room, 2 Queen Beds, Balcony, Lakeside" specifically for the lake view and balcony, expecting a relaxing winter getaway with sights of Lake Arrowhead. Unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming from the moment I arrived. There was no valet service or bellman to assist with luggage - I had to handle everything myself, which set a poor tone for a resort that markets itself as upscale. The initial room assigned had a balcony, but the "view" was nothing more than what looked like a rain runoff ditch and surrounding area - no lake in sight at all. I called the front desk and was moved to room 132. While Michelle was helpful and polite during the process, the new room also fell short: still no proper lake view, just partial glimpses obstructed by trees and buildings. It felt like neither room matched the "Lakeside" category I paid a premium for. Having to move rooms myself (luggage and all) added to the frustration. Overall, the hotel simply didn't deliver on what was advertised and what I purchased. The lack of basic services and the misrepresentation of the room view left me feeling misled and disappointed. A great hotel in Lake Arrowhead!! The outside of the building looks....scary. But the inside is very nice! The lobby is huge and feels welcoming. They have everything you could want. A SPA, workout classes including sound bath meditation classes, access to the lake, a dock where you can fish, a pool, hot tubs, a resturant, and a coffee shop with light breakfast bites! We really enjoyed our stay here. It's also a great place for weddings and events. For one night here, it cost about $300. It's pricey, but for what you're getting, it's worth it if you're looking for a relaxing vacation with lots of options on stuff to do. It's also within walking distance to the main lake arrowhead shopping district. Unfortunately, it's not a great walking path, you have to walk in the road and really watch for cars. The Resort is in need of a remodel. The outside /Exterior (paint,trim Shutters ,sidewalks need serious TLC .This place was built in the early 80s and shows it. The second outside soa is MIA. The pool area only has a few umbrellas. The managers should be having meetings with the owners or soon they will be closed. read more

It is with a heavy heart that I submit this review. Our entire family met at the resort and found the accommodations to beyond subpar, they were totally unacceptable, in fact they were horrible! Old1970's decor is cool, filthy is not! We had ants in our bed, for starters. When I tried to draw the drapes for the night, dust flew into my face unexpectedly causing me to cough and subsequently have an awful asthma attack. A LOT OF DUST Another shower and shampoo followed after my emergency inhaler settled down the spasms. Our TV did not work, an electrical outlet was falling out of the wall, the bathroom drain for the sink drained slowly due to the stoper being broken and two lamps did not work oh, and the thermostat was not operating. After 2 visits from different departments to fis the thermostat and unsuccessfully review the outlet issue, we gave up,; such an invasion of privacy to have maintenance continually coming in. Our other 5 rooms including a suite were horrible and absolutely filthy!! I mean really filthy!! The suite did not have one plate, glass, or silverware. let alone a wine opener. How in the hell can they call that a suite?? A City of Filth is more like it!! Staff was kind enough and offered to help us to the the best of their ability given all the rooms are extremely overdue for a full replacement and apparently management is aware of this but does nothing about it. We came here for my husband's business partner's wedding. Paid for a Lakeview room. This is our view. (No lake to be seen.) spoke to the front desk lady says it's a lake SIDE room. I mentioned I paid an upgraded cost (over a $100 more a night times 3 nights). She said we have lake side and parking lot views. At this point what would it matter. All views are of trees. Both sides. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY TO UPGRADE YOUR VIEW. read more

The place is pretty to look at, but price def not worth the stay! They have about 20 lounge chairs at the pool for the entire hotel. There is no room service and the bedding is absolutely terrible, rough and itchy, def not hotel quality and the rooms are pretty dated with dirty carpet. Be aware the lake is private, and there is only a tiny swimming area down below; cheap plastic chairs and if you want to rent anything you have to book with outside companies. Being near the village is nice, but that whole area is under construction. Front desk staff is pleasant, but other than that, better off driving further up to Big Bear!! read more

My partner and I have been loyal members of Spa of the Pines for over a year and have always paid on time. We genuinely enjoy the convenience of the location and want to support a local wellness facility that serves the mountain community. However, we were disappointed by a recent rate increase, especially considering the number of unresolved maintenance issues that have persisted since we joined. These include a broken men's shower, no lighting in the men's sauna/steam room, taped or broken lighting in the women's sauna/steam room, broken tiles on the walls and ceiling of the sauna/steam room, consistently flooded women's showers, wear to walls around showers, dirty filtration/HVAC ducts within toilet women's areas, and many unusable lockers with no functioning electronic locks. Despite bringing these concerns to the attention of Estela, with spa management, and respectfully requesting a discussion around a possible loyalty, partner, or first-responder discount--or even a temporary rate adjustment until the facility is better maintained--we were told that rates are fixed and cannot be negotiated. While we appreciate the peaceful setting and recognize the cost of maintaining such a facility, we find the current rate hard to justify in light of the ongoing disrepair and lack of flexibility from management. Other gyms in the area offer similar or better-maintained amenities, often at lower prices and with added benefits like updated equipment, flexible class schedules, and wellness perks. We're sharing this review in hopes it helps others make an informed decision and encourages the resort to consider more responsive, member-focused service in the future. read more

I give it a one and thats being generous. What ever you do dont get sttuck in room 219. I ve had better nights sleep in a motel 6. The constant vibrations and noise from the AC u it cant be felt through the pillows in the bed. I fell like i slept in tbe back of my pick up truck with the engune running all night. They have no buisiness calling this a resort hotel. Its a night in hell. read more
