This company has terrible customer service and will not take care of a problem. Recently moved and inspection came back that area they have treated for two years in my yard still has termites but because I recently moved the bait stations to my new house they won't warranty my house I am selling. I have paid thousands of dollars to end the termites and then prevent and apparently that all did nothing and they are not willing to resolve the problem. I will have to pay a different company to come treat and certify the termites are dead. Canceling all services. Losing $100 a month in recurring revenue to not take care of a long time customer with one treatment. Silly. read more

He proceeded to keep attempting to sell to me when I clearly was not interested. He then tried to use the sales tactic of getting me to say 'yes' to three other questions. No. No. No. This joke of a company just sends young condescending children out to aggressively try to sell you their crappy service- which by the looks of all the repetitive, redundant 1 star reviews on here, and google... It simply isn't possible for the owner/ managers of this company to not be aware. The owner/ customer service reps just have the same cookie cutter response to everyone, because that's how they roll apparently. Must be bullying enough people to still be in business. They ignore you when you communicate through the ring doorbell to get you to answer the door. When asked to leave nicely, they push harder. We recently canceled our service with Joshua's Pest Control. We signed up based on some promises from a very friendly salesperson, with a guarantee of satisfaction. We were especially excited about the yard treatment, which was touted as a partial or complete solution to various critters that can damage the lawn. We also have three very friendly, but very poorly behaved dogs. So we made sure that every visit would be accompanied by a warning text or call, at least a few minutes before (seriously, like just text us when you're on the way even). That way we can get the dogs put away where they won't cause a huge scene. I believe we may have gotten a warning one time. Working from home, I often have meetings with little notice, so we once had to cancel a service perhaps an hour before. I realize this is not ideal, but I can't have pest control and dogs going crazy while my boss is trying to meet with me. This is when the trouble started. Every single phone interaction with Joshua's Pest Control was a masterclass in how to not retain customers. They were rude, arrogant, argumentative and generally combative about everything. To be fair, I believe there was one phone call that was perfectly pleasant. So we'll call that a 20% success rate on basic decency. So I escalated to Faith, a manager, or supervisor of some sort. Surprisingly, she was even more combative. She insisted I had made requests that I didn't make. I even acceded that I may have accidentally done so with their confusing texts that were signed "Moxie Pest Control" which didn't seem to phase her. After telling her that I had not been given the service I was promised, instead of attempting to deescalate the situation and find resolution, she simply insisted that I had. I'm especially saddened because the folks who came to our door (that we actually interacted with) were professional, polite, and wonderful to deal with. Some even hinted that they were losing customers left and right. As I write this, I see almost identical experiences shared here by Lisa, Megan, Joshua, Mitch, Walter, Trudy, Kent, Lindsay, and Nancy. In addition, we have seen an increase in pests since we switched from another provider, little evidence that the promised services have actually been completed when we weren't home, and a punitive "termination fee" based on our word vs theirs that we have received full and exemplary service. While I hate to take work away from those who were doing the actual work out in the heat, the behavior of those in the air conditioning answering phones and shuffling papers is so atrocious, I simply can't continue using Joshua's Pest Control. I would strongly advise potential customers and potential employees to avoid them. Combative customer service is a clear sign of a business leaking money and desperately looking for external sources to blame. I suspect even those with positive experiences will soon see quality deteriorate and/or see an "under new management" email within the year. Text messages with other pest control companies is a clear sign that Joshua's was an acquisition by a distant and uncaring parent company. I hope the original owner sold for a boatload and is laughing all the way to the bank. read more

As a first-time home owner who is learning who to trust, DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. I couldn't recommend them less. From the beginning, the communication has been terrible and the interactions feel completely fake. They get you to sign a contract, and then its chaos from there. I asked to have my quarterly sprays scheduled - didn't happen. I was told my termite treatment would be one total - its now a higher total. I've called back twice trying to get that total corrected so that I can make my monthly payments. When I called, I was told I needed to call their financing people and figure it out myself, even though the problem is that they submitted the wrong contract from their end. Every single interaction has felt sneaky, bait and switch-like, and dishonest. They just take your money, do half-assed treatments, and disappear. It's not worth it. Worst company I dealt with in 2021. This pest control took care of my home for 3+ years. One day they stopped by to do a complimentary termite inspection. Fast forward the rep that day expressed my need ring of their bait stations. I was not ready to commit to such an investment ($1,600 ) right then and there. The rep then made promises that apparently were all lies. He told me that I could pay for it and have 3 months (90 days) to see if I can get a better deal anywhere else . He also promised to beat out any other competitor. With all the promises and safety of having the option of canceling I decided to go for it. Lies , Lies, LIES. I called a month later asking to just be put on the monthly option rather than paying the year in full. I then was told I couldn't because it was paid for already. So I asked to cancel the current agreement (that I was told I had 90 days on) and sign a new agreement with monthly payments. I was told no. How? Your rep came in and made promises to me which I had guest over also who heard the speech. The manager said he would look into and talk to his rep. Two weeks later I got call back saying that he talked to his rep and reminded him that he can't be saying that, but that he couldn't refund me for the bait stations. Although that is what his company came to my house and said to me. I was beyond frustrated and told them to cancel all my services. He did so, but told me I still wouldn't get a refund. I had to go through my bank and dispute the charges! Luckily, I had all the cancelations in email so I won the dispute. But, I shouldn't have had to dispute the charge to begin with. Pictures and video taken during inspection sealed the deal and we scheduled an attic renovation on the spot. Andre sent the renovation crew recorded notes, explained in detail what the crew would do and what the expectation was afterwards. No more rodents! If I could give 0 stars I would. We have used many pest control companies due to moving around and this one is the worse. They come unexpectedly and we end up getting an email that the exterior was treated. We always schedule to make sure someone is home and they literally take it as a suggestion and come whenever. This has happened on multiple occasion. We complained about these little mites around the window and the guy literally told us to use double sided tape around the window. First, that's gross to see and I have small kids. I believe it's your job to treat so I don't have these issues. I find myself paying more for advice than service. Also, everything seems to be an up charge, like prevention of termites. I declined it as my house is a new build. Btw, they started asking for tip service. First I'm paying premium for your service and now your asking us to tip for mediocre services?!? I say take your money elsewhere. read more

One of Joshua's employees was spraying the yard next door to me. This young man saw that the yard he was spraying had a dog sitting in the deck trying to get into the screened porch. He showed concerned and opened the screen door so the dog could go inside to prevent him from getting sprayed. Even though it's a simple gesture, some people would not take the time to do this. My mom signed up for this, and after a year, she decided to cancel the service. She called and canceled. They renewed anyway. I typed a letter on her behalf and mailed it. It was ignored. I called someone and told them to canel it after she fell and broke several bones. They charged her 200. A few weeks later, they sent out a salesman to get another contract signed. She said she doesn't sign things without one of her children present because she is blind. They started a new contract anyway!! Unbelievable!!! read more

I agreed to use Joshua's Pest Control as our Pest control service in May of 2022. In April of 2023, I agreed to sign up for their termite treatment plan, which meant paying over 700.00 initially for their "termite system." It would cost another 49.00 a month to "maintain" this system-checking each implanted green plastic post for termites, termite poison, and adding more poison to this post if needed, once a month After deciding that the cost of Joshua's Pest Control was no longer in our budget, I called their office to get the services canceled. My conversation with the very nice CSR seemed to go well, and I was told the services would be canceled. After 2 months, I received a text message from Joshua's Pest Control informing me that they'd be treating my house on September 22, 2023, and I presumed there was a mistake with their automatic message system. When I called after finding 151.48 charged to my checking account by them, I was essentially told that I hadn't canceled the regular extermination service. I was told I had only canceled the termite prevention services. After a fairly diplomatic disagreement with a Joshua's Pest Control supervisor, it became clear that I wouldn't get a refund (They'd already completed this unauthorized pest control treatment on 9/22/23). Besides all else, I was told that what I had said during the call to cancel ALL services with them--paraphrasing--didn't make ANY difference, that notes taken during my services being canceled were more believable than I am I was told they'd be canceled NO, I will NOT recommend them to anyone else. They do not respect a neighborhoods privacy. After seeing the sign that was posted and told by the HOA we do not allow unsolicited canvassing they continued and said call the cops. All their imployees stated they have a 1st amendment right but don't mind violation of my 4th amendment right or simple the right to not be left alone in my home.
