Hey Josh, as you said on my camera, I'm not sure if you are the owner and aspiring entrepreneur of Joshua's Pest Control, but you might want to review the Overland Park, Kansas municipal Code prior to door knocking on a house with a no soliciting sign. We have you on camera multiple times within our neighborhood soliciting door to door. We have your name and and likeness. Please read this, Josh. "5.64.020 Prohibited Acts. A. It shall be unlawful for any Solicitor to ring the bell, or knock on the door, or otherwise attempt to gain admittance for the purpose of soliciting at a residence, dwelling or Individual Dwelling Unit in a Multi-Family Dwelling Complex at which a sign bearing the words "No Solicitors," "No Trespassers," or words of similar import indicating that such Persons are not wanted on the premises, is painted, affixed or otherwise exposed to public view; provided that this paragraph shall not apply to any Solicitor who gains admittance to such residence at the invitation or with the consent of the occupant thereof. For purposes of this section, the No Solicitors decal issued by the City Clerk prominently displayed on the door shall constitute sufficient notice to all Solicitors. However, other similar signs, as defined above, are also sufficient. B. It shall be unlawful for any Solicitor to Solicit or attempt to Solicit at an Individual Dwelling Unit in a Multi-Family Complex when all street entrances to the Multi-Family Complex have been clearly posted with signs marked "No Solicitors." This paragraph shall not apply to Solicitation in an Individual Dwelling Unit when the Solicitor has been invited onto the property to Solicit there by the occupant of that dwelling unit." So with that, it is unlawful to solicit a neighborhood that has a no soliciting sign at the entrance, but also any resident in that neighborhood with a no soliciting sign. Just in case you missed the sign at the neighborhood entrance. ;-) Second, read this. "5.64.030 Violations-Penalties. Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter is guilty of a public offense and upon conviction thereof shall be punished as provided in Section 1.12.010." What does Section 1.12.010 say, well let's look. "1.12.010 Designated. Any person convicted of a violation of any of the provisions of or failing to comply with any of the mandatory requirements of the ordinances of the city for which another penalty is not specifically provided is guilty of a public offense and punishable by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars or by imprisonment not to exceed six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each such person is guilty of a separate offense for each and every day during any portion of which any violation of any provision of the city ordinances is committed, continued or permitted by any such person; and he shall be punished accordingly." So guess what, our neighborhood is posted at the entrance and many homes are posted because solicitors like you ignore the neighborhood entrance signs, ignore the signs on homes, or are just ignorant of the law. I think all three apply. I would suggest that your little, pushy, and hubris teenage salesperson named Josh. (Is that the same Joshua G. from Kansas that typed some gibberish and gave the 5 star review on May 6th, 2025 on this page?). He rides a scooter similar to a Segway too. Sorry, I digressed. Josh should learn the law and stop soliciting clearly posted neighborhoods and homes. If it doesn't stop, we have the Overland Park, Kansas municipal Code, home video, his name, and business cards to back us up if it continues to occur in this neighborhood. What neighborhood you may ask, it doesn't matter since this company and its employees should already be reading the neighborhood no soliciting signs and following the Overland Park, Kansas municipal code. I recently had the pleasure of working with Ashley from Joshua's Pest Control, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. Ashley is not only knowledgeable but also very personable, making the whole process of dealing with pests in my home a lot less stressful. Caleb did a nice job at the last quarterly exterior treatment of my home. I appreciated that the fence gate was closed. Caleb actually made sure it was latched. I worry about my little dogs getting out and have a brick by the gate just in case it swings open. (Five stars for Caleb) I am probably going to stop my service with Joshua's due to a communication issue with the dispatcher and the "Free Termite Attic Inspector". I intentionally stayed home and was in the garage all afternoon with the garage door. Access to my attic is through the garage. I opened the garage door well before our scheduled window. My nephew and I cleaned during the scheduled time period. About 20 minutes after the timeslot, I reached out.... only to hear that an attempt had been made and I wasn't home. I perceived the text from the dispatcher as incredibly rude. It would have been better if they would have just said there must have been some kind of mix up.... instead of stating that the error was mine and that I needed to check my Ring Door bell. Perhaps the inspector went to the wrong house... I don't know... and it wouldn't have been a big deal if the tone wasn't so harsh. Didn't really feel like rescheduling after the attitude. EXCELLENT Attic Insulation removal and installation. I have had Joshua's Pest control taking care of my Pests for years and now I have an attic that is not only better insulated but will keep the insects and rodents at bay. Andrea came to inspect my attic and showed me what was going on up there and it scared me. The droppings and holes in the insulation from rodents we sickening. After having to get a new roof due to hail damage I was unwilling to let that filth be between my family and my roof. Haidyn and his team... Alex and Eli showed up the next week and walked me through every step of insulation removal, treatment and installation. From protecting my floors and property from any dust or debris to keeping me informed of what was happening when to showing me through pictures and video what was going on this was an outstanding experience! My home will be more energy efficient and pest and rodent protected with their special insulation that kills bugs and makes my attic inhospitable for rodents. May not have been the least expensive insulation but will definitely be value added to my home for safety of my family. Worth it!!! read more

Joshua Davis was at all times friendly and courteous during the service call today (10-15-18). He explained how and where he was going to install termite bait stations. I reviewed with him the irrigation system plumbing and sprinkler head locations which he acknowledged. He quickly and efficiently installed the stations around the perimeter of the house. When he finished the installation, he explained why they were located in certain areas and what we should expect as well as how to conduct gardening & lawn care around the stations. Additionally, he replaced insect "sticky pads" in the unfinished portion of the basement and removed old pads where insects were caught and/or became wet after water seepage into that portion of basement. This service request was placed for me by Jordan Johnson last week (10-10-18) during his Termite inspection & sales visit. We have been in our house four years here in KC. The first small business pest service provided excellent service for about a year, then were bought by Terminix. We thought their service was OK, but still continued to have lots of ants and spiders around. We accepted the Joshua offer of service yesterday and Jason came today, right on time. I received two emails yesterday describing the agreement and reminding of the first visit today. Jason and I walked around the house and then he got to work. Removed cobwebs, treated for ants and used granules in the mulch beds. He then treated inside everywhere and especially where we have seen some ants and spiders. He offered info of what he was doing and described the treatment. He also put sticky traps at the garage door openings. Jason can come back anytime. We thought the salesman was courteous and honest. The office phone call at the beginning of the first treatment was informative and reviewed the contract terms. read more

This company is WILDLY inappropriate. Staff came to our house last night at 730pm to try to drum up business. That's annoying, rude, and just strange. Not to mention, the person who came to our door was riding around to different houses on a hoover board, like some child. My husband was trying to be nice and listen, but pulling dogs back and the man kept going on and on. I finally came to the door to get dogs and tell the man we weren't interested. He then scoofed at me and left. Later I was out cleaning my car as he rode by on his little hoover board, and tried to slyly flip me off- yah, I saw that and I'm not an idiot. The company might be alright, who knows, but I will NEVER be using them after that whole situation. They need to figure that guy and figure out a better way of advertising, rather than showing up in the evening to people's homes and bothering them. So creepy. read more

The ants invaded yesterday and Joshua's Pest Control rescued me today. I had already planned to call a pest control and the sun, moon and stars aligned and Joshua's Pest Control came knocking at my door. They say timing is everything at that was absolutely true in this case. Hayden, their sales consultant, knocked on my door and within 2 hours my pest control agent, Kenneth (Kip) was at my home for our appointment. Both Hayden and Kip were very professional and thorough in the job they performed. I was impressed with how quickly they responded and their knowledge was second to none. It is clear that Joshua's Pest Control runs a quality organization and they work hard to keep customers and employees happy - both of which are fundamentally sound business practices. Our technician Carl was great. He was nice, seemed knowledgeable, and was quick (but not so quick that I thought he wasn't doing a good job). We have been using another pest control for 3 years and had gotten progressively less pleased with their services. If you understand that a door to door salesman is going to try to get you to buy - then it isn't so offputting. Our salesman Matt was actually a very nice guy - doing his job - but still nice and positive and respectful. The one thing I did think they said that was dishonest - Matt told me the special rate he was giving me and the plan could be cancelled at any time. On the day of your first service someone from the office calls you to explain things, and she made sure to say it can be cancelled at anytime but if you cancel it before a year, you are expected to pay back the discount. I arrived home a bit late. Carl had gotten no answer when he rang the doorbell which is probably a good thing since I had not told my husband about hiring Joshua's. Carl had begun his work, so I went indoors and told my husband about him. He had explained to me what he would be doing. He treated the indoor area when he had finished the outdoors. He brought in and set some mouse traps since I am squeemish about gluing mice to sticky cardboard. I want them dead, but having the poor things die of hunger and thirst in my trash container seems cruel. I think the instant death from a trap on the neck is better. I had questions about the mouse poison injuring the red tailed hawks who hunt in our yard. Carl answered all of my questions. Spraying the baseboards should help keep spiders from liking the area. Today was our first treatment with this company. We sought a pest control service because my legs have been the midnight snack for I don't know how many spiders. I've got huge welts that are bruised and hold a fever for days. Anyway... enter Joshua's Pest Control. Anthony was our technician. He was genuinely kind, respectful, extra careful, nice to our cats and extremely professional. He made sure we understood the treatment plan and schedule, what was done on the first visit today, and what we can expect in the future. We could not be happier with our decision to go with Joshua's Pest Control as a result of Anthony's demeanor and client-forward focus.
