Came here for an appt. Waited for an hour over my scheduled time. I saw patient after patient walk right in with boxes of food, cookies, and cakes while people who didn't have treats for staff sit and wait for their appt. This office priorities people who bring them presents over people who have actual scheduled appts. It's appalling how they treat their patients here. I was scheduled to see the "doctor" but saw a PA. It was hard to understand the PA with her thick accent. I explained to her what I was there for. This was a regular derm appt. And she didn't even look at my skin. She looked perturbed I was even in the office. I needed refills on face creams . She didn't want to fill them. She filled the wrong rxs and gave me scripts she felt that was appropriate. I told her I was allergic. Going by these terrible reviews I don't understand how this Dr has business at all. ****Also, as for the post Dr. Lederman answered on Yelp giving detailed information about a patients care. My experience at Dr. Lederman office was extremely disappointing. The staff was very rude, not only to me but also to other patients. The wait time was unacceptable even with an appointment, patients are left waiting anywhere from one to two hours. Overall, the quality of service was terrible, and the experience felt like a complete nightmare. I would not return to this office, and I would not recommend it to others. So i had an appointment at dr ledermans office i arrived 10 minutes early i waited in the waiting room for about 1/2 hour then was put in exam room which i waited at least another 1/2 hour finally the pa came in i showed her a cyst i needed removed she never came more than 2 feet close to me she looked from where she was standing said you need a surgeon to do that wrote a name on a piece of paper and l left. That took all of 2 minutes. When i walked out i stopped at the desk they said have a nice day. NOW I SEE THEY BILLED MY INSURANCE $150. Was scheduled to see Dr. Lederman a few years ago and I arrived for a routine skin check (I usually prefer having skin cancer screenings from a full MD versus PAs, just a preference after some bad experiences with PAs in derm) I am brought to the exam room where a PA sees me.. not the doctor who was literally sitting right outside the room on her phone. I was told the doctor ONLY SEES PATIENTS FOR COSMETIC STUFF now. .. are you kidding me? Also was told the PA is better for medical concerns than the doctor by the intake nurse. The PA ended up being fine but please find another office for a derm for medical concerns. PAs are supposed to be supervised by a doctor not someone who sits there and rakes in cash for botox injections. read more

This place is not for regular skin issues. I waited over an hour only to be seen by Diana Fernandez. She looked at my skin from far and wrote a pharmacy # on a sample box of Opzelura she gave me. I guess I should say thank you for the sample. .05 grams of this cream so I can use all over my body. What in the world. This was absolutely the worst experience. After waiting over an hour, I walked away with . 05 grams of a medicine cream that doesn't even cover a toe. I'm in shock. I called and called and left several messages explaining my frustration. A little more tact and a warmer approach would greatly enhance the patient experience. This is my first visit, and although I can't form a complete judgment based on just one visit, initial impressions are vital. My mother in law had an appointment with one of the PA's, and was completely misdiagnosed! She diagnosed her for scabies, but didn't take proper steps to really see if that was the root of her issues. I think she was more concerned about rushing her out. My mother in law proceeded to tell her she doesn't think that it's scabies ( because scabies are contagious, & her husband doesn't have it) and the PA continued to say she stands by her diagnoses! Days later my Mother in law was submitted to the hospital, and it had nothing to with what she was diagnosed with, due to negligence! This is completely unacceptable! read more

this must be a joke! my appt was at 12:15pm. and it's now after 1pm. i've been sitting in the waiting room for over forty five minutes!!! never again coming here. worst place on earth!!! Also, I literally received many notifications about having to come in for a skin screening, so I finally did and it was a complete WASTE of time! To be in & out in 3 minutes idk. That's doesn't seem right. I was advised by my pcp that it should be like 15-20. And with use of a dermascope. The derm that saw me was gross too! I went here today due to an abnormal growth on my face . I had a 12:45 appt and arrived around 12:40. I was immediately greeting by the sweetest ladies and given my paperwork to fill out. By the time I finished my paperwork Someone was waiting to take me to the back room to be seen. Diana the PA was so kind and careful. She explained what it was , where it came from, and what caused the continuous growth. I never felt overwhelmed or embarrassed by asking questions or making jokes. Same day- she cut and burned the cyst on my face away with care. I have bragged about this place to friends already and I really want to thank them all for making a stressful situation so peaceful from the moment I walked in. read more

I booked an appointment with Dr. Lederman. The office rescheduled it, saying that the Dr. isn't in then (even though she was available on their booking system ZocDoc), but she would be next week.  I arrived on about 15m before my appointment to do paperwork. Then I was led into the exam room, where I waited AN HOUR before the PA came in and conducted the exam. She never explained where the Dr was.  They don't respect people's time! read more

What doctor's office does that, and then I was told if I don't then I won't be seen.. I was NOT leaving my card number with this office or any other doctor's office. Stay away, that is the best advice I can give everyone. I went here for a few years. Was told in 2021 that I needed "Photodynamic Therapy" due to pre-cancerous cells on my face. I specifically asked what the cost would be, as I did not want to spend hundreds. I was told that it is covered by insurance and would only owe my co-pay. I received a bill shortly after for well over $200. My next visit in, I inquired with their billing person as to why I had a bill when I was told it was covered. They said it must have been an error, they would look into. And now again, I received the same bill, same amount, with a lovely "Final Notice" red stamp on it. When I called to ask what was going on, I was told - "Oh, it is only fully covered if you have met your deductible" with your insurance company. I feel like that is something that perhaps could have been told to me - oh, I don't know - when I asked?? I will pay the money, worth it to never have to deal with them again. A doctor's office attempting to be a typical SI day spa. The main features of the practice can be summed up as---excessive wait times, a bit of attitude and a doctor who will try to up-sell you on cosmetic procedures you don't need or want. Went for a specific procedure (laser removal of a small birthmark) and it took a couple of visits to see any results and even after that, the job wasn't 100% finished. After my first visit, the doctor informed me that it could take a number of attempts to eliminate the birthmark completely. Keep in mind that for each attempt I was charged for both the visit and the procedure. Either they were incompetent with the procedure or they wanted to stretch out the process and keep charging me. As far as the bedside manner of the staff goes, Dr. Lederman seemed nice enough, although a bit abrupt and money hungry---during one of my visits she tried to talk me into some sort of facial injections. I couldn't help but think, "Is this lady kidding?" "What does she take me for?" Some of the women who work there, as well as one or two female patients in the waiting room had these very full, round-ish faces which I assume were the result of the same procedure the doctor was recommending for me. Why Dr. Lederman thought I might go for that is beyond me. In addition to seeing the doctor, I had seen the same PA a number of times; the first couple of times she seemed pleasant, but at my last visit she seemed very annoyed that I was not satisfied with the results of my prior visits regarding the birthmark---even though it was still visible. There are some positive elements to this medical practice such as easy parking on an adjacent side street and a physically comfortable office with enough seating so that patients generally don't have sit on top of one another as they wait, but overall, it's a less than professional type of operation geared towards female guidos. read more

My son was born with an anomaly on his scalp. It looked like a scab, except it never healed. At the time I was told it probably happened during the labor process and that it would heal. Months later it did not heal. Obviously something was wrong. I was referred to this practice and was anxious to see what the Dr. would say. I was hoping for her to remove and biopsy it. After paying the co pay, and waiting, we are finally called in and I swear we were in her office for all of 7 seconds. She literally barely glanced at the thing that had been on my sons head for 3 months and since he was born, and completely dismissed us and told me it was a scab. I'm no dr. But I know that scabs are supposed to heal and even if it was a scab, the fact that he'd had it for so long should have raised concerns with her like it did me. 7 seconds we were in there, tops. She didn't even really examine it. She completely brushed me off as some nervous first time mom. Well Dr. Lederman, that "scab" that you so quickly dismissed as nothing more than a waste of your time, turned out to be a rare skin tumor that had to be removed and biopsied, just like I thought. I will urge anyone I know in need of a dermatologist to not go to this practice. And don't let anyone dismiss your intuition. I don't blame the doctor for not knowing it was a skin tumor, it was an extremely rare type that most dermatologists will never see. But I do blame her for not properly examining him, dismissing us in under 10 seconds, and not listening to me when I told her he had had it for months and something was wrong. Went twice first time I waited an hour and left second visit (bc they had my copay already) I made first appt. Still waited while they chatted away then took a woman that came in after me first. Guess she was a regular and she was seeing same PA as myself. When I informed the receptionist about this she said oh really I replied go in and get her I was here first. Her response in one minute, I said in a minute she'll have her clothes off . Anyway I waited 40/50 minutes showed Pa my skin problems and she said benign come back in a year with barely a glance but they should know I'll give them that. This place is all about pushing product sales ( I Ended up spending $185 !!) when I Expressed my concern about taking oral meds (that she prescribed) for my Acne and the products shes pushing-- her response was "What do you know about antibiotics? what do you know about.. etc?? " LADY, this is not a Challenge-- am I allowed to ask questions?? Am i allowed to be informed?? I was berated - like I am being reprimanded by my mother. Her and her assistant was dying to push me out the door. there is no room to listen to ANY of my concerns. I took my sister here for her acne. We waited for a total of 2 hours (1 hour in the waiting room and then 1 more hour in the exam room). The PA came in and saw my sister for only 5 minutes. There was another tech who came in with a jacket, ready to leave for the day. They explained what they will prescribe my sister very briefly and said that my pharmacy will not have those ready. She mentioned we will receive it another way and never explained anything about it. I do not know when I will get the cremes or how. When we left the room, all the patients were gone (there were still patients after us) and the staff was ready to leave. Especially after waiting for 2+ hours, I would expect for the PA and the staff to provide proper examination and treatment. Unfortunately, the staff was very careless and inconsiderate. read more

This place was an absolute disappointment. I went to money hungry Lederman with high hopes. I walked in and filled out paper work. I was called inside for a consultation. Knowing what I was there for and the price I was going to pay since a friend had gotten a treatment done. After my choices of treatment were presented. I made a choice of paying 2500 After wasting a couple of hours at the office the "doctor" comes back and tells me how they don't have any small vials left , and the treatment would cost 3500 and I'm lucky because I can get it for 3200. if I pay cash. It's a shame there is only one vial size and one price until I got there. Please do better for your community This business is an embarrassment to Staten Island and all of New York . Horrendous practice. After arriving 15 minutes early for my appointment, I still waited 1.45 minutes today before walking out. I was told the reason was because there's only one room for the treatment I needed and an incision has taken place in that room before my appointment. When I inquired about the wait, they rushed to clean the room. After an additional 15 minutes, staff still couldn't tell me when the room would be ready. Clueless and unorganized. I wasted my entire morning. They don't have respect for patient's time. I had no choice but to leave because they didn't have a room available! I wasn't the only person waiting for this long. They provide absolutely zero communication. Go to any other doctor, this office is awful. Probably the worst experience I've ever had in a doctor's office. I waited over an hour past my appointment time to be called into a room where I waited another half hour, which I could understand sometimes things are backed up. However, based on listening to people talking in the office it seems to be a common occurrence there. When I was called in, I didn't even see the doctor. I saw a PA who although was sweet, completely rushed. I felt like she was just trying to get me out of there. Then she brings me outside of the room to ask Dr. Lederman a question and starts speaking about my issues with other people around: so unprofessional. Dr lederman skips over the question (a dermatology question) and proceeds to try to talk me into getting dermal fillers which I did NOT ask about. HORRIBLE. Just wants money. I have been going to this office for a few years - the physician I was seeing had left the practice and despite the rumors/reviews I had something that I wanted checked so I decided to come back to this office and see Dr.Lederman. Not only was my privacy not respected - my medical history was not reviewed - surgery and ACUTUNE was her only options / advice since it was "not worth time" to biopsy the area before cutting into my back. I wish I checked the Yelp reviews before I made an appointment with this establishment. It's a scam. They try to sell u things and tell you it's not covered by insurance. I asked her for a drug I can get from the pharmacy - and still pusher their product. When asked who manufactured the product. The PA said it's Florida somewhere. Both me and my wife went here last night. They over charged us on the copay and I am now attempting to contact the Billing at the office and they don't answer the phone. Aside from that, they do push expensive products rather than standard prescriptions so they can make their office lots of money. This is typical of a dermatologist office from my experience. I wish I could put zero stars because this office does not even deserve the one. I have been a patient with Dr. Lederman (or should I say her PA) for several years. I think I met her once. I was approved for a hyperhydrosis treatment back in February, I waited... and waited... and waited... and then at the end of May I cancelled the request. My insurance requested the office pay for the botox then they will be paid for the services and medication. Lederman's office claimed they will not do that because they demand to be paid first. Their contract with my insurance states they must perform the procedure then they will be paid. It was an absolute nightmare and I would not send my worst enemy to this office. The staff is beyond unfriendly. I will tell anyone that would listen to me - do yourself a favor and AVOID this office at all costs. read more

I got to my appointment 15 minutes and waited in the room for about 1 1/2 hours. When they finally called me they also called 2 other people like we were in a little group?? Which I have never seen before ever. I waited in the room and the PA asked a couple of questions then left to leave me waiting another 20 minutes for the actual doctor, which at that point the PA forgot one of the things I went there for. Hilarious. This lady took ONE look at my face and basically repeated what I had just said to her and started going off on pills and creams. She had the PA there for either 1. I have seen this Dr exactly one time since I started 8 months ago. Her staff is only P A 's . I decided to go find a new dermatologist . She gave me no choice medication I needed had to have prior authorization . Insurance company had requested from her my clinical reports & they weren't sent in a timely manner.
