I waited a really long time to see her as an initial visit. I was supposed to have a full body check. Instead, she came in the room, exclaimed, "Why are you here? Your skin is fine!" Shook her head and RIPPED open my paper gown down the front. I had to spit out concerns I had as fast as I could. She cut 2 things off and made me get dressed with her in the room while she typed notes. She didn't check my body and sold me a cream that I'm allergic to. She offered me $400 a session laser treatment for my rosacea. She also proceeded to tell me my other dermatologists didn't know what they were talking about when I tried to have her look at another area of concern they had in the past. I don't trust her. A note, I am fair skin, lots of freckles and some moles. I guess I have no business being seen by a dermatologist (sarcasm). read more

By far the WORST experience I ever had at a doctors office. 2 people come in the room tell me to take my pants off ( had a cyst in my leg) don't know who is who and one stats squeezing my leg so hard , I asked for numbing she was so rude gave me a shot and started right away squeezing again! Good luck getting an appointment most of the time the receptionist do not even pick up the phone during regular business hours. And when you're lucky enough for them to even answer you better speak quickly because you're going to get rushed right off the phone. When you show up for an appointment expect to wait because the waiting room will be packed. When you're finally lucky enough to get in to see the doctor don't look away because she will be in and out in a Flash. That office is literally an assembly line of boils, blisters, and Botox. I had come in for a growth under my eyelid. I ended up being referred to a surgeon after Dr L examined it, however I was very impressed with the office and staff. The front desk, the assistants, as well as the doctor, were all very polite and professional. The entire place is kept very clean, and exam rooms are private, so you don't have anyone gawking at whatever abomination you came in there for. I am a medical professional for 7 years. I recently trained at Dr. Lederman's office for a short 5 hours before I left and reported them to the American Medical Association. This office is the most filthy, unsanitary medical office I have ever been in. I seen band aids pick up off the floor and place on a patient's newly biopsied face, blood stains on the walls, garbage over flowing, patient's personal data sheets thrown in regular garbage for all the world to see personal information. Cosmetics is the most important matter at this office not patients or real issues. Please of you have a medical issue do not go there, they do not care nor have the capability to treat you. read more

I had a 1200 appt for myself, and 1230 for my daughter. I waited over 2 hrs in the waiting room. Then another 25 mins in exam room. Let me say this, the staff is not nice. The PA, tall ,blonde who through she was Sharon Stone was the rudest person I have ever experienced. Her answers were short, and didnt seem to care about my issues. Just because you are PA, Im a speech therapist, you choose to treat people as if they are uneducated. I also think not being russian, they look down upon you. Honestly I have wonder why there are such negative reviews here . Years and years ago I came here, heard and believed Dr Lederman was best dermatologist . Recently I had microneedling somewhere else , a spa . Week or so later I , myself put creams , retinol for one, on my face ; big mistake . I awoke to hives and rash . I called Dr Lederman's office and they got me in immediately . The girls were sweet at the desk , authentically concerned and sympathetic . I waited , but was grateful I was fit in . The office was packed but a steady stream of coming and going . Receptionist actually apologized for having me wait, but I was grateful to be here! I came for a follow up , I had wonderful sweet calm ( I needed to be calmed) encouraging and wise PA , Dr Parul Mody, Ohmygosh I loved her. So kind to me , I mean this is my face !!!! She changed my course , and is fitting me in again for follow up in 2days ! She was sympathetic and gave me samples of what I needed . I thought she was so thorough , took time to listen , I was almost crying to her . I cannot tell you how all were so sweet to me , empathetic . I guess nowadays w all the pop up shops, and Groupon specials for Botox etc that are everywhere , people don't want to wait , it's so easy to just get Anybody to give you fast service . But I know as a caretaker to a few in my family , from transplant to cancer , I only want and Get the best drs ... this office was and is always packed , for years . Simply because everyone knows they are the best . My experience is wonderful . From Leeta to Anna to Darlene to my PA Dr Mody and Dr Lederman , they were kind professional exact , they are known to be the best , and leaders and teachers in their profession , if you don't like waiting for the best , go elsewhere . I will never ever go anywhere else again , and when my face heals , I will absolutely get treatments and services here, never to trust my face to anyone but the best for me and mine ! They have the most up to date , reliable , and real highest quality services , not watered down Botox or Whatever and services are by drs . Went in for 10:30am appointment. Needless to say saw Dr Lederman at 11:35. "Good morning, why are you here". Really. How long does it take to know why your patient is here. After a 45 second visual scan of my upper torso I was told everything looks O.K. My thought not very thorough but what do I know she's the doctor. At that point Dr Lederman states all done. At that point I ask a little quizzy "all done?" She again says "yes".With a little bit of confusion I ask "Are my legs o.k.?" Dr. Lederman say "Oh let me check them?. They are concerned with only one aspect of the procedure, how fast can we get them in and out. Guess those co-pays mount up pretty hefty. Absolutely love this woman. When I first came to see Dr. Lederman at 15, she yelled at my mother for not allowing me to wear sunscreen. And she was right to, as now at 22 I have skin cancer. My acne is disappearing after dealing with it since I was 7... All in all, the staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and the wait time is worth it. I would like to begin by saying that I have never written a negative or positive review for anything before. But I felt compelled to do so to prevent other people from making the same mistake I did. I went to Dr. Leiderman's Office and saw the PA. My symptoms were itchy skin and she quickly diagnosed me with scabies. I was shocked! I didnt have Amy of The Classic symptoms but she prescribed me a cream and suggested My whole family use it as Well. I called her back a few days later and told her it wasnt working. She Said it takes a few days and left it at that. Finally, after going to My GP was a finally diagnosed with stage 4 hodgkins lymphoma!!!! Im currently receiving chemo. I was completely misdiagnosed!!!! It wasn't until I received one of their Reminders to schedule an apt. That i felt i had to Write this review. I Will never go back to that Office again!!! read more

Just read the review on Dr. Lederman. I went there years ago and it seems like she's still inadequate. The wait was long, she had a person with a notepad, writing down what I was saying and translating it to her (you'd think she'd speak good English by now). She was cold, in a rush and the growth I had came back. I heard she's like Dr. McCormack, they only like the cosmetic patients. McCormack's office is like a clinic, you don't see her and after 3 laser treatments for a lump/wart on my finger, there was no improvement. read more

This may be the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. First the wait time was excruciating, when I arrived I was told there were two people ahead of us (my 12 year old son was the patient). After an hour and fifteen minutes we were brought inside. I then proceeded to wait another 30 minutes when I look outside of my room and see Dr. Lederman in an office with someone who came in 45 minutes after I had originally arrived! I question one of the assistants about it and she's completely clueless, when I ask her who I can speak to about this her answer was "I don't know". Dr. Lederman comes into the room, completely unfriendly and asks "why we are here". I say a followup from December. She looks at my son and says "he has acne". Um duh? We know that. I explain that the creams she gave us last time haven't helped at all. She asks what did I give you last time? I said, I don't know the exact names, don't you have a chart? She says with a major attitude "we have a new software and it's slow" as if that's my problem. Between her thick French accent that can barely be understood and her horrible demeanor, I couldn't wait to get out of this place. She prescribes some new cream and pills as if she's doing us a favor. She barely examined my son, I would say 30 seconds tops after a two hour wait! A good doctor would have started out by being apologetic for a 2 hour wait where supposedly two people were in front of us. Obviously there were more than one person who came in after us who were seen before us. This place has zero organizational skills. She didn't even bother listening to why I was there and kept on speaking over me in a highly arrogant manner. Go to a real dermatologist because this woman is all about $$$. If you want some cosmetic things done she's your woman but if you want some real help from a doctor forget this place. First off she has an young woman come in and input all your information into the computer she will ask what is wrong types it into the computer and so on. Then you WAIT. Then the physician's assistant comes in sits at the laptop with your file on the screen and rambles, doesn't getup to look at the patients issues one on one just rambles as the young woman who input the information explains the issues as well. Then they try to sell you stuff didn't offer a generic form for rosacea treatment that my insurance would cover just went on to tell me that it is a good price and goes for alot more money. Then they try to sell me a facial cleanser that I was told was $12 then the young lady came back and said it was $20. After looking at the ingredients I wouldn't pay anything for it and declined. It had harsh chemicals in it and I did not need to go to the so called dermatologist office to know that harsh chemicals are bad for all especially a person with rosacea! OK so after the physicians assistant is done rambling she leaves and there is ANOTHER WAIT for DR. LEDERMAN. She comes in says hello the physicians assistant once again rambles on what she offered/prescribed and the Dr. says a few words (which are hard to understand because she has an accent) and that's it. What a waste of time/money with 0 solution unless I chose to buy the cream and wash they offered and some pills that I can take for months (who the heck wants to take pills for months??? Surely not me). I was referred by a family member and even though I saw negative reviews I figured I would give the office a try. Never again! Part of being a physician is treating your patients with respect. The doctor herself is an intelligent woman. However, though I may look young, I am a fully grown woman who was treated as if I was a child being scolded by her mother instead of simply explaining the answer to my question. I asked one simple question with no arrogance or hatred in my language, and was mistreated by her staff. The medical assistant stood in the corner while this was going on, silent. The PA's name was Colette. If you must come here, I'd go to Diana. She's the ONLY staff member with any respectful mannerism. WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! I basically had to wait a month and 2 hours (in the waiting room) to have my face man handled and poked. Yes POKED! She said I had a cyst on my face which was clearly just acne, but no she insisted..no no not insisted cause that would require me having some sort of warning before she stuck a needle in my face TWICE, and there was no warning! I almost felt bad for being there because of how much an inconvenience she made me out to be. My reason for going there was not even my acne it was a spot i found on my back which she looked at for a second and said i was fine. Being that skin cancer runs in my family I was hoping for a more thorough review, but no such luck. Then again how could she know skin cancer ran in my family when she didn't even look at my paper work. AND THAT WAS JUST THE DR! (whom I could barely understand might i add) The receptionists were so rude! AND if it wasn't for them i would have gotten seen sooner, but because some man who came in after was causing a stink about how long he had to wait he was taken before me while i was left last! If you are a patient doing Accutane, DO NOT do it here. With Accutane you need to be confirmed monthly.They're very unreliable, and will push back your Accutane process with their neglectance towards their Accutane patients. Even after I spoke to the office manager, a month later I found myself sitting at the pharmacy for an hour waiting to be "confirmed" by them yet again (Third month, same problem) I've gone days without my pills due to THEIR error. Also, don't bother calling this place. They'll bounce you around to every extension. Clearly they're good doctors here, I understand that because if they have millions of patients. However, when you're dealing with that many patients there's only one solution...and that's to hire more staff. Management needs to step up. Based on reviews i'm not the only one. Yes patients sit in their waiting room for up to 3 hours And to top it all off, the lady at the front desk is the nastiest woman. All the reviews regarding disrespect to the time of a patient making you wait for 2 hours, violating the patient's right for refusing to give the appropriate prescription, no bedside manner are 100000% true.There was a good review saying people go to her and there was a reason . One thing for sure not because of the professionalism nor for a professional medical treatment that was rendered. It is because there is a limit of dermatologist choices in staten island so a patient will grab whatever whoever derma appointment is available. 2 hours of wait, unsympathetic administrative staff, rude PA, embarrassing a professional RN in front of the patient. PA rushed me and seems annoyed to listen to my medical concern concentrating on the computer screen, didn't explain the diagnosis, prescribing me a brand drug name worth $1000 , gave me an expired discounted card from drug manufacturer which I just found out while at the pharmacy. I went back to the office to pick up the unexpired card , office doesn't have it. I asked for a sample to give my irritated skin a temporary relief while waiting for new rx to be filled by pharmacist.A lady , didnt intoduce her title gave me tiny samples and she Said I need to make another appointment to get prescription, refusing to replace the brand rx to a generic one. The first visit they charged my private insurance and made me pay $ 50 co pay prior being assessed by PA, I didn't get an affordable rx. I told her I need a generic prescription not a $1000 for a small tube of medicated cream , she asked me rudely give me back the samples and said she was doing me a favor for d discounted card. I paid for the medical services, it was the PA choice to prescribed a branded rx, as a patient it is our right to have an access for a generic rx. It was wrong of her to say she is doing me a favor . BOTTOM LINE I PAID FOR IT AND IAM ENTITLED FOR A GENERIC RX, NO FAVOR WAS GIVEN TO ME. No sense of patients satisfaction, not respecting the patients right, no care for their pt, only after the $$$$.I stood with my right to be given an alternate rx, finally after a long wait , I got a lower strength of cream. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I am an RN for 24 yrs and this is the type of medical personnel that I have been dealing with for many years, representing my patients who were not informed and professionally assisted right. This office is incredibly incompetent! A few months ago i was prescribed isotretinoin for cystic acne, which is a controlled drug with a very strict program to prevent birth defects by becoming pregnant on the drug. It is a very time sensitive prescription and this office always messes something up. Last month i didn't even get a prescription because they entered information in the computer wrong and never fixed it despite being called numerous times, they are almost always late in confirming my visit so i can't get the prescription in the given window of time and then i need to wait to be re-confirmed, and this month they got the dosage wrong. They never answer the phone or return your messages! The people who deal with entering all the information in the computers clearly don't act like professionals, and it shows in how often they mess up and then don't help you. The only doctor there is Lederman, who is pretty short with you and a bit rude. Everyone else (who you will probably get) is a physicians assistant, and don't get me wrong they can be quite nice but actually getting anything done in regards to dermatology is a nightmare. Not to mention that this is a very potent drug and all this stopping and starting can't be good for my treatment or my body. read more
