Joubert tore down and rebuilt our fence last week and did an amazing job. On top of that, he fixed our faulting retaining wall, which looked like a lot of effort from his team. They built a beautiful retaining wall and a beautiful fence in 90 degree heat in 3 days. I think the people with the negative reviews need to get a life. Consumer beware: I hired Joubert for a fence rebuild, possible fence repair. Initially I was impressed with his quick response to my call for an estimate. His price seemed very reasonable and he agreed to do the work within a couple of days of my call. Our issues with his service came the day of the work. He said I didn't need a fence rebuild, rather, a repair was all that was needed. He quoted a different price for the repair. I had requested the day before multiple times through a phone call and also through text that he write down the costs(so I'd have it in writing and for reference to discuss with my spouse). He never followed through! That should've been my first clue. I agreed to the new price, the workers performed the fence repair. Joubert stayed briefly but said the guys were knowledgeable and have built plenty of fences before and knew what to do. After the work was finished the two workers left. I went to examine the work. My first complaint was sawdust from their work was all over the patio and side walkway where they worked. Upon closer inspection nails, about 10 were found tossed in my yard in the dirt. I called Joubert and told him that the workers left a mess. He stated that they probably were expecting him to come clean the job site(nice quick witty response although unlikely true). I further discussed with him how I was wondering how the price changed so drastically from a couple days ago. He stated because he hired the two workers and the cost of the repair was the reason. (Again, this should've been explained and costs should've been in writing!) Then to further add insult to the job performed, come to find out about 5 days later when the sprinkler system was programmed to water the landscape we discovered a river of water from damage to a main water pipe from their shoddy work. We immediately told Joubert and he wanted to send his workers to fix the issue. We were adamant that we did not want him to return to fix the pipe due to poor customer service and workmanship. Up to this point he has not provided any invoice or reference for the work he did. In fact, on a phone call the day of the work he stated, "Just send the money and I'll send the invoice". Many of you who may read this review may say you're willing to take a chance on his company because of his great reviews. In fact, that's why I did. But don't say I didn't warn you. And also, learn from me. Get things put in writing and save yourself some grief even if it's just a handyman you're hiring. One of the reasons we hired Joubert was to fix our fence gate which was out of line and wouldn't close. His workers used a metal bracket and what look like drywall anchors to realign and hold the fence by securing to our house. We just noticed that the anchors are coming loose and the gate is starting to come out of alignment again causing the gate to rub against the fence. I would attribute this to what looks like a hack job in general. Plus, you can now see the two big holes in our stucco where the anchors were secured. read more

Update! Joubert has completed my floor project. It only took 2 days to complete but that's because we already occupy the home. They moved everything for us and made it as painless as possible. I was dreading this project because it seemed like a lot of hassle and time for me, but it really wasn't at all. They even picked up the flooring materials for us and disposed of the old floor. read more

I've used Joubert Services in the past and haven't had major complaints until he tried to install a sliding glass patio door for me. My original door was cracked and I was hoping to avoid replacing the entire unit and Joubert was going to see if he could find just the slider for me. He found one and we set the appointment for installation. He was on time and began installing the door while I was at work. A few hours later, he sent a text saying he was done, and he would be back at 5 PM for payment. I went home to find the slider open, no screen (he was going to pick one up but apparently forgot), flies enjoying the freedom and coming and going and I wasn't too happy about this. Also wasn't happy to see a trail of glass from my patio, down the side yard, down the driveway and all over the sidewalk and street. I called Joubert to let him know this needed to be cleaned up and he seemed surprised that it was a concern to me. His guy that was there working on my fence was told by Joubert to clean it up and he did by sweeping all the broken glass into the rocks. When Joubert came back at 5, I let him know I wasn't happy with the glass not being cleaned up properly, wasn't happy with the door as it didn't shut smoothly and wouldn't lock correctly. Also wasn't happy that he removed a child-proof lock from my old door, which wasn't asked of him to do, installed it on the new door, and he didn't line it up properly and so was now unusable. Since he had to cut into the plastic around the door to install this lock that he was never asked to install, he couldn't remove the lock without it looking stupid. So now I have another unusable lock. Joubert worked on the door for about 45 minutes and still couldn't get it right. I should have gone with a "real" glass place originally and paid more to someone who knew what they were doing. In the end, I had to call a glass place in town who came out and fixed Joubert's problem. Joubert had installed the door upside down and facing the wrong way. The glass technicians had to remove the wheels and turn the door upside down to get it the right way, reinstalled the wheels, made adjustments, had to remove the face plate on the frame (and the drywall screws Joubert used to install it) and properly reinstall that. So on top of what Joubert was paid, I had to shell out another $150 for someone to fix his mistakes. I have learned my lesson and will no longer use Joubert. Oh, I'm still waiting for him to come and clean all the glass out of my rock, which was supposed to be done last Sunday, but wasn't. I won't hold my breath. read more

As they say you get what you pay for, while i liked Joubert and his crew, good friendly folks, however the quality of work was subpar. In fact, I had to call him several times to come back and fix the fence. Joubert finally came a day after he said he would without any heads up. When I got home he was already working on the fence and looked upset. In the end when he was done I still Paid him for coming out however the fixing job was below subpar again. I noticed a drip of water coming from my family room ceiling. There two bathrooms upstairs that could be the source of the leak, but I made a quick check of the bathrooms and I couldn't find the source of the water but I knew it couldn't be a good thing! I messaged Joubert through Yelp and received a response almost immediately. I called him and he was at my house in less than an hour. That was about 4 pm on a Monday and he and his team were back at 8 am Tuesday. He opened up the ceiling, repaired the leak, closed it up and painted so that you cannot tell there was ever an issue there. We also asked him to add some canned lights, as long as he was here, and he installed them by the end of the day on Tuesday. Overall, the pricing was very reasonable. His crew was clean and very professional the job was completed in less time than expected. I would definitely call him again if I need any household projects or repairs. read more

My review is based on the work estimate Joubert Silva provided me with after coming to my home to measure the fence for a replacement. Prior to his appt. with me, I asked if he was licensed and he said yes. He was prompt for the appt., courteous, and went on his way and assured me he would get back with a written estimate in a couple days. I received his estimate as promised. He provided his license number on the letterhead as 945086, and typed his letterhead himself. On the letter, he put Joubert Services, De Abreu Const. , and his cell number. He did not put his last name on letter. After checking his license status on the CSLB website, I learned it had expired on 8/31/19. Violation Code 7114. With this information, I had to call him and tell him I received his quote and again I asked him if he was licensed. He said yes again. Then I told him that the license # he provided me expired in August. He acted surprised and said he didn't know? Then I proceeded to say that had he been honest with me and told me he didn't have a license, I wouldn't raise the concerns I have now. He agreed, and said he understood. All of the reviews on here, seem to be happy with his work, but I don't see recent reviews about fences. Regardless, the license number he used goes to De Abreu Const. which I don't even think belongs to him. He told me his name is Joubert Silva, but yet claims this is his license number and he is the owner. I urge you to be aware, and be cautious. Honesty is key, whether or not you have a license, expired license, or not. This is a huge red flag, especially after I saw the violation code on this license #. read more

My complaints are: poor quality of wooden posts and materials used; posts were not deep enough in the ground and a section of the fence is now slightly leaning after only 1 year of installation. We had a common fence section fall down in our backyard deck (townhouse) due to heavy winds. I used Yelp's request a quote and promptly received a response from Joubert. He came out the same day that we made contact. He provided a verbal quote which I had to review with my neighbor before proceeding. I contacted Joubert later that day and he advised that he and his crew could come out the next day. They promptly replaced the section with new slats, runners and also added a 4x4 post sunk in concrete to better stabilize the fence section. He also let me know that his estimate was lower than expected but honored the original quote. I would have given Joubert 5 stars but did not since there was some minor cleanup that should have been done[ (sawdust, nails and pieces of wood from the old fence) that I didn't notice until after he had left. I was given an Amazon voucher for 2 hours handyman service as a gift last Christmas. When I found something I needed the help on 11 months later, I then see it was only good for 180 days. In going through Amazon, the face value was $59. I still need the help, so he is scheduled. Via phone, he is told by the gift giver that I needed help pulling video surveillance cords through the attic. No estimate appointment was apparently needed. He did show up on time for the appointment. That was the last thing that went right. I was at work, so I left detailed written instructions for my wife to give him: "For the install: 3 of the 4 exterior cameras have the wires connected and pushed through in to the attic. The 4th is on the porch and needs the wires pushed through the hole and connected to the camera. The wire for that one is next to the hole inside the attic. The other 3 cables need to be pulled over from where they are pushed through into the attic and put through the hole in the ceiling. The 4 interior cameras need the wires connected at the cameras from the attic side. The wires for that are in the attic next to the main access point. If additional cable is needed for the one on the other side of the kitchen, there is a 100 ft cable on the computer desk. All wires need to be routed through the hole in the ceiling above the storage above the living room tv. Then through the hole drilled in the top of my closet which is the bottom of that shelf. Then wires through the wall behind our bedroom tv." She told me he stated the initial 2 hours he was scheduled would cost another $91 on top of the $59 from the expired voucher. Ok, I missed the expiration details. When he was explained the job, my wife described his reaction as whiney. That it was going to take longer than 2 hours. I said ok, I just wanted it done. He proceeds to pull the one cable from the porch and two of the interior cables. He then tells my wife he can't do the other two interior cameras because there is a drop ceiling and he can't reach the cameras. This takes 3 hours and another $65 on top of the $150 already paid. When I get home and she tells me this, I am not pleased. I go and try to hook up the camera cables to the dar and I only see three cables. He failed to route the cables for the other three exterior cameras. I try and hook up the three that are there and find that there isn't enough slack in the cable to reach the dvr. I had to pay someone else to finish the job and find that the three cables he did route were tangled in a mess above the hole in the ceiling. The new guy had to pull them back up into the attic and untangle the mess so I had enough cable to reach the dvr. He then simply cut a hole above the camera in the drop ceiling for the two cameras Joubert said he couldn't do, pulled the cables for those two and the other three exterior cameras and was done. My experience was a bad attitude and very poor work quality. This guy is an idiot. read more

I had purchased a Living Social deal for window washing, which we very much needed. I noticed on his website that they also offer housecleaning, which we also very much needed. I was a little hesitant at first, because it's always a little scary to have someone cleaning your home around your valuables ...I liked what all the Yelpers had said, so I began to feel confident to hire them. Joubert and his wife showed up yesterday, not only on time, but 10 minutes early. They worked for HOURS cleaning our home from top to bottom including all the windows. We have a few glass top tables, large mirrors, and glass shower doors, lot of windows and they made ALL of them just sparkle!! We also have several areas with lots of shelves. They carefully dusted each item and put them right back into place. Our whole house has shutters on all the windows, and they carefully dusted and cleaned each and every slat.
