Husband and wife photography team that we used for our engagement and wedding photos. They are extremely responsive, take pride in their work, flexible, and on top of all that, affordable! Our wedding was in Maui, so since it was a destination wedding (they're based in Southern California), they gave us a free additional photo session in Maui (our pre-wedding session). We shopped around for a good photography team, since that's really all you have left after the wedding. Some things that we saw that differentiated this photography team from others, is that they didn't cap the # of hours that they spent with you--they just cared that they got good shots and ultimately that we got what we wanted. Our engagement session definitely ran long, as we were high maintenance and wanted photos in a lot of spots, but they were super patient and happy to take whatever photos we wanted. They are also very personable, and made us feel comfortable while they were taking photos of us (my husband and I aren't big on pictures, so that's saying a lot!). Their pricing is also extremely reasonable--you'll find that with other photographers, flash drives of your photos (some photographers even charge you $ for each photo), photo albums, and all the "extra" stuff will cost you a ton on top of the package fee, but this isn't the case for Jovanni. The photo albums are of amazingly fancy quality, with lay flat binding, and the flash drive that they gave of all (not select, but ALL) our photos was in this fancy case with fabric and made of some kind of clear engraved glass--fancy! Jovanni's package (at least the package we got, which wasn't even the most expensive package) included: engagement session, engagement photo album (many use as the guest book), pre-wedding session, rehearsal luncheon session. wedding session (full day--unlike many others who only give you ~5 hours and charge you extra for any additional time), wedding photo album, huge photo canvas of a photo of our choice, all pictures on both a flash drive and a DVD (1 DVD for each session). Now searching for a photographer was not as challenging as the many other things. I had the pleasure of working with Jovanni as a bridesmaid for one of my good friends wedding. I already new from that I wanted to go with them as our photographer. Working with them as a bridesmaid was easy but working with them as the bride herself was AMAZING. I reached out to them via their website and they quickly responded and answered all of our questions. We quickly set up a date to meet and discuss the logistics. While we did make up our mind (we just didn't tell them yet) Jovanni was never once pushy in making us book with them or set a deposit to secure our date (luckily no one else was getting married on that day). For our engagement photos they were very accommodating in suggesting different places we can go to and also open to ideas we had of our own. We wanted to capture natural lighting and some sunset pictures so they suggested the time. They arrived to the park first and "scoped" out the location so by the time we got there they quickly knew where to go for the best photos. They were very professional but very personal at the same time. Anni helped guide my fiancé and me and casual reminded us "not to smoosh our noses" during our photos. We never had professional photos taken together so we didn't know what to do but they both helped us, guiding us how to pose, where to place our hands etc for the best photos. We quickly got our photos back and the on line viewing gallery they have make it super easy to view, download and share. The photos were amazing. We were shocked we looked so good. The hardest part was actually choosing which photos to use for the wedding! As the day approached Jovanni had a questionnaire for us to fill out, kind of a guide to help them capture our wedding day. We kept forgetting to fill it out and they were so kind to remind us as the day came closer. Our wedding day was chaotic traditional and non traditional language things we wanted captured. They were both so accommodating and sweet in going over the day with us to ensure us that they capture everything for us. They arrived early and got right to it. They're friendly smiles made the day less stressful. They were always there capturing every moment but yet you didn't even notice they were there yet every moment was captured. When I say every moment I'm talking the scheduled moments and those behind the scene that I wasn't there for. For example the flower girl and ring bearer playing on the stairs while the ceremony was taking place. How precious. They were able to take photos of everything in the one day we had. Morning ceremony. Check. Wedding dress hanging from the ceiling. Check. Groom getting ready with Groomsmen. Check. Bride getting ready with her Bridesmaid. Check. Wedding party pictures. Check. Venue. Check. You get the idea. Now our wedding had a lot of details and they got it all on picture. I'm talking each table had a different center piece and they got it all. I don't think I ever saw Jove or Anni sit down or ever eat during our wedding! They were always here taking photos. The thing that surprised me most was all the behind the scenes photos and photos of our guest they captured. It was as if they were our second set of eyes during the wedding. They were there till the very end, capturing all the fun dance moves everyone busted out. The turn around time for the Preview pictures was so quick. We were not expecting it. Every picture left us completely speechless!!! Again the on line gallery made it so simple to download the photos in high quality. For the final product, we got all of our photos in less than a month from our wedding. The hardest part was going through them and picking out which ones we liked best. Jovanni (Jove and Annie) were referred to us by a close friend of ours and have become our friends in the process. They had great photo packages and were willing work with our budget. Jovanni have been great to work with from the first consultation, to the engagement photo session, to the wedding day, editing and publishing of the photo album. Jovanni listened to what we wanted as a couple and made sure to get every photo opportunity possible. We did roughly a 2 hour engagement photo session in Pasadena. We went to places that they had scouted out to fit the backgrounds we wanted in for our engagement photos. They were very professional and had creative poses for us to make our engagement session unique. The day of the wedding Jove and Annie arrived early to the hotel to where the bridal party preparing for the day. We decided not to do a first look photo session, but Jovanni found the perfect spot in the hotel for us to have our Blind Chat session. We used a stairwell and we talked to each other from opposite sides of a wall. It was private and worked really well for us. After the blind chat it was "go" time for the individual groomsmen and bridesmaids photos and then to the venue for the ceremony and reception. The ceremony photos really captured each moment from every tear to every smile on everyone's face. Through the pictures we were able to re live our ceremony. After the ceremony we did scenic photos on the venue property and did some throughout the night. The reception photos captured everything from the family photos, place setting, programs, candy bar, Bride and Groom grand entrance, speeches, Lion Dance, bouquet, garter toss, cake cutting, dancing and reception site photos. Being a husband a wife team, they were able to split up with Jove hanging out with the guys as we got ready and Annie with the girls. They had great ideas of unique photos to capture with bridesmaids and groomsmen and they didn't miss a single moment or article of clothing or jewelry. They also beautifully organized and captured our first look. Jove coached me on where to stand and Annie took the time to make sure Katie's dress looked perfect right up to the moment before Katie tapped me on the shoulder. During the ceremony, they both went from photographers to ninjas because they vanished into the shadows as they captured every single moment perfectly and unobtrusively! They got smiles and tears and laughter and all kinds of candid moments. They worked in a way to make themselves completely unknown to me or any of the guests. This was really important to me because I didn't want to be distracted by a couple of cameras buzzing around. Seriously, if they ever decide to stop taking photos they should definitely move to Japan and become full time ninjas, they are THAT GOOD! After sunset, the amazing photos kept on coming! They strategically placed small flash units around the venue to insure that every photo was beautifully lit. Seriously, it looks like a team of hardcore union electricians lit every one of our photos. They were perfect! Nothing blurry, nothing dark, only spectacular photos across the board. The last special moment was when they approached us towards the end of the evening and asked us if we wanted to sneak away for 10 minutes for a few night portraits. Me, being the photo nerd that I am, looked at Katie and nodded my head and we snuck off. They then surprised us with a great location, a camera already set up for a long exposure and an 8 foot LED bar where they painted light around us. We hired Jovanni to be our photographers for our Wedding. They have different tiers and options for their wedding packages, we chose the one that best fit our budget and covered what we wanted. The package we chose covered both our engagement session and wedding day. I will review the engagement session. For our session we flew Jove with us to New York! Annie had just given birth at the time and could not come with. When we shot the idea to shoot in New York, Jove was honored and probably more excited to go than we were. For the trip Jove did his research. He knew the right places and the best locations for photo ops. Usually with e-sessions it would cover one day with maybe two outfits. But since we were there for 5 nights, everyday was an e-session with no extra charge. We took photos at Central Park, High Line Park, the Brooklyn bridge and time square. All the pictures he took were amazing. Each photo captured the love and happiness between me and my wife. You can tell that Jove is very comfortable behind the camera. Jove is friendly and easy to work with. He definitely has an eye for capturing all the best moments and finding the right angles. Hired Jovanni for engagement photos and to document our wedding after a rec for a coworker. Jove is a really nice guy and definitely helped me and my now wife feel extremely comfortable for the pics. For the engagement session, after a few poses and advice from Jove, my wife and I came out of our shells and we really started having fun. The pics came out great! He took pics from different angles and some artistic shots that came out great. We purchased the wedding guest book and jove's wife was helpful in making sure the design looked perfect while accommodating my requests while providing artistic suggestions.
