While eating my bowl, I bit down on a small white/green rock that was hidden in the food. When I called the restaurant to request a refund and speak to a manager, I was met with extreme hostility by the employee who prepared the meal (identified as Alex/Alexis). She became immediately argumentative and refused to provide any management contact information. Because she refused to resolve the issue over the phone, my partner and I drove back to the restaurant with our children. Upon arrival, the situation escalated from unprofessional to threatening. The employee began: * Playing loud, inappropriate music from Cardi-B with lyrics referencing violence. * Pacing, cursing, and clapping loudly next to us to intimidate us. * Staring us down in a hostile manner in front of our children. We have recorded video/audio of this behavior and photographs of the rock found in the meal. After looking at other Google reviews, it is clear this specific employee has a history of complaints. Given her aggressive behavior and the foreign object in our food, we have serious concerns about food tampering. Avoid this establishment at all costs. I'm a big fan of Joy Bowl. Love their poke bowls. I usually go to the one in Hadley, which is always great. Today I visited West Springfield. The two employees were sitting and conversing and the young woman seemed irritated that I came in to the store. The screen that lists the usual combinations offered was dark, so I was forced to pick a protein and 4 toppings(never experienced a limit there before). I got my bowl and when I asked if I could have a cup for some water, she said "we have no cups", at which point I said I'd just eat in the car since I had a thermos there. She seemed annoyed that I asked for a bowl cover. I noted that their drink machine was completely out of order. Made me think they aren't serious about being in business. Mine was cooked and I have eaten seafood for over 60 years. So that holds no water. Perhaps Joy Bowl sees this sign as a 'get-out-of-jail-free-card' for food borne illness. Ok so we're obsessed. I'm PUMPED that this place opened. I hated having to drive to Florence or 16 acres to get poke. Online ordering is super easy for quick pick up. Every time I just put in the notes all the vegetables I want since you can only choose four online and they accommodate me. Food is tasty, definitely like a chipotle for poke. Avocado is also extra by $1. No biggie I'm thrilled to have another fast casual option in the area! They also have punch cards and every 9 bowls your tenth is free!
