This fab dinner place is right next to the Majestic Theatre in West Springfield. Three friends and I thought we would try dinner here before the annual Holiday Show. No reservations, so get there early! An automatic bonus star for original craft cocktails and dinner specials. I abhor restaurants that rely on staple meal choices, forgetting that people need variety from the ho hum they make at home ( or can make at home- like Wood and Tap. Boo.). I love a place like this where you can look at the menu and see at least two or three things that make you think "WOW, what will I choose?". The restaurant is very bright with many high top tables. It would have felt conspicuously weird to take photos in the full-capacity situation we were in. There's also a gentleman playing acoustic guitar and singing Christmas music. Nicely done, with a professional voice and playing style. I would say, the only downside was that there didn't seem to be a consistency of how people were waiting on tables, so simple things like a set of silverware missed at our table, and then somebody brought a set and didn't bring napkins. Then one of us received the completely wrong meal and we had a delay in getting it corrected while we were already on a tight schedule with the other flubs to make the show on time. We stopped in before our show at the Majestic and will make a point of stopping back. Our chicken wing appetizer was cooked perfectly. Their baby back ribs were delicious and would rival any local barbecue. Our waitress was very patient with our many questions about the menu and was a pleasure to meet. Wish I could give a better review but the service was absolutely deplorable. Slow service, no water fills, empty drinks sitting on the table made for a bad experience. It's a shame because the food was good and portions were very large. I'd go back to give them another shot potentially but when having dinner takes nearly 2 hours it's a bit much. Also, was a bit put off because after being seated and ordering drinks the waitress moved our table to a side table (in an area of the Restaurant with no environment near the kitchen ti accommodate a party who came in after us that was larger. Never had that happen and felt we were treated liked we mattered less because there were only 2 of us and six of them. I get wanting to accommodate more guests and make more money but I have never been asked to move tables after being seated and ordering. Excellent addition to the town! The name is a bit unimaginative, but the food is anything but. First off, I'd like to say what a superstar server Jordan was. She handled customers at the bar, in the main dining room, made drinks, and seated tables, (in other words, she did the job of 4 people) all effortlessly, flawlessly, and with a smile. I came here with my mom and I was delighted to see that they have wine flights on the menu. We decided to do our own tasting with the white wine flight, the red wine flight, the burrata appetizer, and the homemade chips with gorgonzola dip, and we regret nothing. It was all fabulous. I heard the salmon was great here and I was skeptical, because that's such a typical thing for women to order. How many times have you heard a woman say, "I'll have the salmon," only for the server to politely nod, but hold back their true feelings of the customer's lack of adventure? At the risk of appearing basic, we ordered the Caesar salad with salmon. I can honestly say I cannot believe how great this salmon tasted! And I don't know if you can tell from my writing, but I'm picky when it comes to quality. I was blown away! I ended up getting the tavern coffee for dessert and it was delightful. The *only* thing I would change about this place would be the country music. People either love it or they hate it - there is no in between. My mom and I hate it, but we were able to enjoy everything else to the point where I wasn't willing to knock a star off for it. The smoked garlic parm wings are outstanding, with a perfect balance of smokiness, garlic, and loaded with rich Parmesan. Their homemade pasta dishes are amazing, particularly the Bolognese and the Big Easy, both packed with flavor and perfectly prepared. Even the simple burger stands out, executed to perfection. This is a cute place and great ambiance. The executive chief Ricardo is an awesome chef with a lot of knowledge of food to please. The food is awesome. They serve big portions for a reasonable price. Now that the place is finally in full operation I can say that they still going good & they even got a lunch thing & a happy hour with some small food for prices that they have listing of. This time I got the wings again but did it in way the photo indicates & the sirloin is good but note cut the meat so you can chew it & swallow down your throat & almost choking on it (damn near happened to me plus humiliating as Hell). I found this gem a couple of years ago. I visit the area every few months to visit my Grandchildren, who are in a neighboring town. Over the eight years years I've been visiting the area, I've hit most of of the restaraunts and bars. This is my go to place to eat and drink. The food here is always excellent, and I get generous portions for a reasonable price. My favorites are the Blue cheese burger or the rib eye steaks, and the Ahi Tuna when I want to eat healthy. Make sure to get the home made chips, they're fantastic with their dipping sauce. I usually try to get Steve as my server, such a great personality! My first time at this restaurant and I had an incredible experience. The menu options ensured there was something for everyone. Our meals included the pasta bolognese, salmon, and pork Milanese. The prices were very reasonable and the portions were huge. They have a nice selection of beers and wines, including options for wine flights. All of the employees were professional, friendly, and attentive. The chef even came to our table to ask if we were we were enjoying our meals. I forgot my pocketbook at my office today so I had to drive back to West Springfield- (40 minutes) to my office (and 40 minutes back home after I had just arrived at home ) so I asked my husband to come with me and suggested we have dinner out here. My patients have been telling me about West Side so I told him AND- I'm SO glad that I forgot my purse BECAUSE we had a fantastic meal!!! I had the salmon with a teriyaki glaze over mashed potatoes that were HEAVENLY! He had the Tuscan Flatbread with figs, prosciutto and arugula and said he loved it! Went with my son early on Thursday evening. If you are short like I am and don't want to sit at the high tables, go early. They only have 5 regular tables/chairs. Everything else is high tables and bar seats. While I waited, i ordered a Tavern Cosmo and it was excellent. For an appetizer, we ordered their homemade chips, which were really good. Served with a light dipping sauce. I ordered Salmon. It was a really generous piece with mashed potatoes and broccoli. I thought it was excellent. My son ordered The Special burger and it came exactly how he wanted it. So, as far as food is concerned, the restaurant is excellent. The staff is very good as well. The only problem is the noise. My son and I were there early for dinner (530 pm). It wasn't that busy, but I kept having to ask him to repeat himself. The surfaces are hard and the noise just bounces around and it makes it difficult to have a conversation. It wouldn't be a good date night place. If you can go early, do that. A little over a month First, not kid friendly no menu for minors no drinks other than what the bar has for mixing drinks, no kids cup. Sangria was delicious, service was poor. Wait time for food 45 mins, I ordered pork chop with guava glaze, porch chop was so dry I couldn't eat it, husband said food was cold. ( An owner or manager asked us about food and deducted the pork chop from our check and asked what else he can do to help) not necessary and thank you, we have been residents of WS for over 20 yrs and live very close to location, hopefully it can turn around for a second visit. It wasn't Horrible, but I'm really struggling to give it a 3. We sat at the bar fairly early on a Friday night. Reviews and the fact that it was full was promising. Bartender was the majority of the issue. Her friends kept popping up next to us & she'd wait on them, but we Adults who actually have the financial ability to Pay & Tip, were consistently ignored. My husband at one point, managed to flag her down to alert her that the couple who'd been there before we were, had been trying to order another drink - as was he! She was Not too busy to manage her customers, but she just wouldn't do it. Food again - Looked promising, but was really just meh. For $91 - that steak & burger should be pretty dang good. We got 4 bitty, skinny asparagus - literally & my husband's steak was overcooked. We were Front & Center at the Bar. He isn't eating, has barely touched his plate & it's been pushed out in front of him toward the bartender - & she just completely avoided checking in with him - even though she was Not That Busy. The Server was mediocre at best. We explained that we had Theater Tickets. (We had an hour and 45 minutes) I ordered a cocktail and my friend ordered coffee. Fifteen minutes later when I repeatedly looked at the Bar Service area the Bartender delivered the cocktail to our Table. And, I asked about the coffee. She said she would have someone bring the coffee. A different Server brought the coffee and we inquired about the Soup du jour. She said she would find out what the Soup was but, never came back. After a bit our Server came to get our Dinner order and we inquired about the Soup du Jour. She said she would ask and come back. She came back but, forgot to ask about the Soup. We placed our order and she said she would be back with the Soup choice but, we never saw her until after our dinners were delivered by yet a different Server. The (fried) Shrimp Taco was bland but edible. The Burger was similar to the burger at Two Guys. Typical Bar quality food. Our Server came by to see if we needed anything while we were noshing and Just for haha's I inquired about the soup offering. She said she forgot to ask but, she "didn't think there was a Soup du jour that day or maybe they ran out" She came by after dinner and asked if we would like dessert. We said no and reminded her that we had Theater tickets and asked for the check. She went on her merry way and I waited another 10 minutes. I watched her go to the kitchen then the bar and then two other tables. I had to leave the table and follow her to the hostess desk and ask for our check. What a fiasco! This is not a place for a quiet dinner. The hard surfaces mean it's loud. Our party enjoyed the food. They're new so some glitches in service mostly due to inexperience, but nothing that was major. I had the fig and prosciutto flatbread without the frilly greens (arugula). While delicious, I prefer it not charred which made it very crusty and hard.
