Joy is a Bible thumper and extremely rude to customers who don't share her point of view on religion. I had been there once before and managed to side-step the whole God thing. I went a second time, and she brought up her overbearing Christianity. On this visit, she started quoting the Bible. I told her I was Jewish. (I'm not, but wanted her to stop.) Absolutely amazing little place. My husband used to pay an obscene amount of money for a haircut every few weeks and would come home unhappy with the results. One day on a Sunday, my husband needed a haircut as soon as possible and all of the more "popular" barbers were closed so I went on yelp as I always do and found this place. Not only did this sweet woman give my husband a haircut that was exactly as he envisioned, she also was able to cut my 5 year olds hair as well with no stress involved! Most places will not give a small child a haircut because "they won't hold still" not her. He did by the way... because she was actually NICE to him. My boys came home happy and looking handsome. I think I've found my stylist. I haven't had my hair cut since a butchering at supercuts (I know...I know) about 6 months ago. When I brought my daughter here in February I knew I wanted to come back for myself! Joy made me feel like a thousand bucks before she even put hands on my hair. The first time I came to Joy Cuts my son & I got both got a haircut. She was really gentle & understanding of the fact that my son isn't too fond of cuts. The first visit entailed a lot of conversations about Jesus (which is totally respectable) but it became a little pushy towards the end resulting in me leaving with a referral to her church. I returned back a second time today because the prices are fair for the work she does. However, I think it may be the last visit because she was still heavily pushing her Christianity on me. It was to the point where it started getting uncomfortable and I was just coming in to get a haircut. Joy is a wonderful person I am sure-- but I just don't understand the correlation between if my husband likes long hair then I shouldn't cut it too short because the Bible says I am to obey my husband?
