I utilized Kevin's services for about 10 years, starting at Gene Juarez and then I followed him to his private business. He did an excellent job. Then, in a period of a few months, his price went from $50 to $80. I had always tipped him 20% so with tip and tax, it would have cost more than $100 for a single haircut, no other services. I already had an appointment which I intended to keep since I needed the cut but I asked him politely about the 60% raise in cost. He sent a rude text and in part said he had decided to quit being a bargain (Seriously!). He also informed me he had cancelled my scheduled appointment I had intended to keep. I called this business for three days and no one answered the phone nor did it have any hours of operation just said they are by appointment only Monday and tues but take walk ins Wednesday -Saturday. So I decided to leave my name and number and general info. No one returned my call. I stopped by and was told by the man working that the reason they don't call back is because they don't have any stylists accepting new clients, but I'm welcome to leave my info in case someone decides they want to accept me. Got my hair done by Karina or "Elle" and I couldn't be happier! I needed a new hair dresser and got recommended to this place by a family member, so I kind of scheduled with someone random but it turned out amazing! I had been wanting more platinum blonde color in my hair as I'm a natural dirty blonde, and Karina did a partial balyage on my hair which gave me the perfect results! The grow outs should be minimal but she still achieved the bright/white blonde that I wanted. Love it, thank you so much Karina! Not to mention, she was one of the sweetest ladies I've ever met! Megan "Kat" is one of the most talented stylists. The last month and today, I received the best haircuts of my entire life. The salon has a simple layout, well designed, and open. It fits the attitude and approach of the people who work there. Two downsides - one, it can get pretty loud making it difficult to converse with your stylist but that is only one downside. Two, the entrance can be tricky to pull into because of the way the roads are managed in UP. Everything else is really good... Bottom line, well worth to have the best haircut! read more

I began coming here when it first opened to follow ,my stylist, Amanda. I am so happy here. I drive here from Gig Harbor and it's worth the drive. I always leave happy because my hair looks great and because the environment is so upbeat. I recommend Amanda because she is skilled, but also because she is such a good person. She listens and cares about my opinions, but has always gently steered me away from a couple, of less than great, ideas of mine; for which I am so grateful. A bad hair cut can cause a melt down and a look of ,"Oh God no," on my husband's face, when I get home. That hasn't happened since I have been with Amanda and he no longer flinches when I leave for my hair appointment. We've been married for 38 years so I've had a few hair melt downs over the years. He's never met Amanda but he really, really likes her. I always leave feeling like I look my best and that's a wonderful feeling.
