I don't live or work in the area but I wish I did because this nail salon does amazing quality work. I have not been impressed by a nail salon in a long time. Jessica did my pedicure and cut all my cuticles and scrubbed off the dead skin in such a gentle and skilled manner. Her voice is soft so I couldn't really hear her instructions well but her work is impeccable. Nikki did my manicure and she was also extremely thorough. She removed my old gel nails really gently and filed my nails before and after applying the color. She also cut and filed all of my nails evenly. She seemed like a perfectionist and that's a huge plus when it comes to nail techs. She was also very bubbly and friendly. Other pros: Their color selection is unbelievable. I actually had a hard time choosing a color because there were so many good ones. They use disposable buffers and pumice scrubs. I wish all nail places would do this. The price was unbelievably low. I wasn't asked what nail shape I wanted and the acrylic nails were removed very rough, a corner piece of my nail was even pulled off because of how they were removed & the edges of most of my nails are very sloppy. I came here with my sister and sister in law on Wednesday I think. Pedicures used to be a 2 to 3 times a month thing for me but it has been quiet awhile since my last. This place is new for me. Used to be my favorite spot, but a few of their long time nail technicians have left and unfortunately my experience at Joy Nails has suffered because of the staffing changes. The person doing my pedicure was insistent that my nail was in gown, however instead of removing any in grown nail she was simply cutting through where my nail plate met my skin. It was very painful, I had to ask her to stop, and my nail hasn't recovered since. I went back, like I mentioned it has been my long time spot, and the person doing my manicure scraped the entirety of my nail plate. Theoretically to my my nail smooth, but since then my nails have been extremely brittle and break constantly. I will not be returning to Joy Nails. read more

I just went here tonight on a recommendation from a friend who goes here often. I never usually get my nails done because my nails get wrecked at work, but I decided I wanted a pampering! And this was the place to get it :) They have the spa pedicure option with a massage chair, which they had me sit in while my feet soaked/waited for a nail technician. I did make an appointment for my friend and I, but they were so full up that they had me wait a bit, but it was no problem, I saw how slammed they were. Plus, they were very sweet and had me sit in the massage chair. I HIGHLY recommend making an appointment, and also going earlier than 1 hour before (they close at 8pm) they close since they are very popular and take walk-ins all day. All the technicians were talkative and made sure I was comfortable, and were very observant and reactive if something was sensitive on my toes or fingers. I wish I had gotten the name of my manicurist because she did the best job! If you get gel manicures and don't like it when they lay it on thick, then she was the woman for the job. I like gel manicures, but I also don't want to feel like they just put a couple coats of house paint on my nails so that they're super thick. That's why I have the 3rd side-view photo of my nails, to show that it was minimal and not globbed on. They have a very wide selection of gel colors and can do an impressive amount of nail art. I only wanted something simple, but it's good to know they have choices and the ability to be creative. (They also didn't try to repeatedly sell me on upgrades and add-ons, huge plus.) Overall, they were friendly, clean, and efficient. I'm definitely a returning customer :) Again, I highly recommend making an appointment! I saw how sad the ladies were when they actually had to ask people to come back tomorrow, when most likely those people will go somewhere else. Give them a shot! read more

Sorry Joy you failed me. I waited to write this review to get some real experience. Customer service is ok nothing special. Make an appointment that I recommend because no matter what day you go even during the week they are busy. I give two stars based on the fact that my daughter is extremely happy with there waxing. She loves how they do her eyebrows they don't over pluck. They do exactly what she wants. Pedicures my daughter and myself we both love. They do a great job of cleaning the nails and getting those nasty ingrowns. Now the gel manicure that's a huge problem. I get gel so my manicure lasts longer that's the point of gel. But this is the third time I get a gel manicure from them and within a week it's already peeling. I'm better off just getting a regular manicure. Those last me longer from them. I've had gel before and I've always been able to count on having them last for at least 4 weeks before they start peeling. So now back to an original place just to get a long lasting, great looking gel polish manicure. So be aware. Gel manicures don't last. As a matter of fact as I was leaving last week that night another customer came in complaining of the same thing. Her gel was already peeling. So reguler pedicures, manicures and waxing are great. They are located in a small shopping plaza on the west side of Whittier. It's a very small salon, but they had a lot of business, so people must love it. There is plenty of parking, so I was able to park nearby without issues. I was immediately greeted and seated. The first thing I noticed is how clean it is. I love how this nail salon uses sanitized tools. They use the one time use nail files and buffers. This is by far the cleanest nail place I've been to. The service was good, not overly friendly, but they are nice. The girl who did my nails was named Jessica. She didn't talk much, but she was polite. Jessica took her time, she was gentle and other than a few minor things like small partials in the gel or a dent in a nail, I left very satisfied with the manicure I had just received. If you pay with cash, you get a small discount as well. Fast forward to 5 days later and the gel on my thumb is peeling off, so I went from very satisfied to disappointed and now less than a week later I need to get my nails done again. One of the best nail experiences I've ever had when it comes to service. I come in and was greeted nicely by one of the ladies. Before sitting down, I was spoken to by one of the ladies about a 45 minute wait since they were busy and had scheduled appointments (it was Friday) to see if I was OK with that. I agreed to wait and had more time to look through the TREMENDOUS amounts of gel options with matching regular polish, which I was happy about. My 45 minute wait ended up being 15 minutes as their appointment didn't show up. I was treated extremely well to sit and asked numerous times if I liked the work they were doing (gel mani ~$24 and regular pedi ~$15). I really enjoyed them asking me and responding well to when I wanted something else/different. The only reason they get 4 stars is because my nails began to break pretty easily about a week and a half after. I'm not sure if it is because of the polish or they actual manicure (my nails usually don't break that easily). But other than that, great experience overall! read more
