First off, I'd like to say that the thought of leaving our pets at home while we went on vacation was extremely stressful. But once we met John and Shauna, the owners, we quickly realized our fur babies were in the best hands possible. They were not only warm and welcoming but also incredibly professional. If you're a pet owner looking for a true 10-out-of-10 service, this is the company. Our pet sitter, Karen, was nothing short of amazing--so loving, so attentive, and so patient with our very needy black cat, Jax. She didn't just stop by; she stayed, hung out, and genuinely spent time with him. And even though our gray cat, Dolce, didn't come out very much, she was just as incredible in caring for her and making sure she felt safe and comfortable. Wow... just wow! We were floored by her love for animals. THANK YOU SO MUCH for taking such great care of the fur babies we love dearly. I would recommend this company to absolutely anyone. Pretty sad that I have to leave this review, but I did try to be patient and see if the business would get back to prospective customers. (I thought since the reviews were perfect, they might come thru... but instead... nada!) We were considering giving them a pet sitting job for over a month in length. But unfortunately they can't be reached via the phone. I left a vm and waited an entire week and got no call back. Backstory: Ironically I believe there's someone named Shauna who operates the website and Yelp(and does a prompt job responding), but John the caretaker is the one who's phone number is associated with the biz, and he is unable to be reached to line up appointments!! (I contacted them a year or two ago when we were considering using them. We didn't end up needing them, but when we tried them last week when we finally did, John did not decide to call us back.) What an amazing group! Katrina and Ian took excellent care of our two dogs, including a senior who requires medical administration, and two kitties. We received daily pictures along with commentary of how our furbabies were doing. I have had some bad experiences with leaving my dogs in the past so I am very excited to have found these guys! Katrina and her husband Ian have both stayed at my house and done a wonderful job taking care of my babies and shauna has done a visit as well and they are all wonderful! I cannot say enough positive things about Joy to the Pets. We actually found them here on Yelp and chose them because of their glowing reviews-- and they did not disappoint!! (And in fact, because we were referred to them from Yelp, they gave us a 10% discount on our first visit.) They were consummate professionals from beginning to end, and I would use Joy to the Pets for ANY future pet services. We scheduled an initial "meet-up" with Kari (one of the co-owners) and Val (the individual who was actually assigned to our account) to meet our cat, Scout, as well as to get an initial overview of services. They were both so kind and very thorough in asking questions about food and water, treats, playing, etc. I noticed how thorough and professional they both were, as well as how incredibly kind they were to Scout. :) The visits were reasonably priced ($20 per visit), and Val asked if we wanted intermittent texts and/or photo messages while we were away. Upon our return, Val had provided a superbly-detailed writeup (see others' posted photos) of what she did each day while visiting Scout. It was wonderful to know that our cat was in such competent hands while we were out of the country! Additionally, I was surprised (in a good way!) at just how much she did in the 30-45 minute visit. Val changed Scout's water each visit (which was every other day); she swept around the litter box AND shook out the rug every day. The narrative Val provided demonstrated the care she took in looking after our girl. Their website is a little archaic, but it gets the job done. I was able to upload my payment (Credit Card) details and view the schedule they had set up for Scout. In the future, it would be great to have an actual payment option on their website (instead of just posting the CC number); however, they did such an amazing job overall that this website thing is a minor suggestion. Such a great company! From the initial meet and greet for new clients to the actual pet-sitting, I always felt comfortable with John. While we were away, we received daily pictures and updates. He even went above and beyond one day when the kitties were messy in their litter box area, so he vacuumed the floor! We have used this service twice in the past 6 months or so and will definitely be using them going forward. The way they set it up is you have an initial face-to-face to walk through the details, then they make a copy of your key (with consent) so any future appointments can be booked right online and there's no need for any further key exchanges/meetings. Super convenient. This last time we used them for our 3 cats, we unfortunately also had an incident where our 75-gallon fish tank had a filter problem and we lost all of our fish. We were out of the country and in a completely opposite time zone so we were unable to be contacted when it happened, but our sitter, John, was the world's biggest help even though it wasn't technically his job. He cleaned out the fish and replaced the water so when we got back the house didn't smell and there was little cleanup work for us to do. Throughout it all he had the greatest, most helpful attitude. It was a stressful and upsetting thing to happen, but I'm glad he was there to handle it how he could. I would absolutely recommend this service to anyone. read more

I was looking for pet sitters for my dog Danny and 2 cats Lily and Apollo. I used Pets Sitters International (as recommended by friend) to locate services in my area with bonding and insurance. I located Joy To The Pets and looked on Yelp to see their ratings and reviews (which were glowing reviews I must say). I called and spoke with John and arranged meet & greet. He came over and met my furry family and discussed their services with me. He took down all my information and I scheduled with him that same day. Let me say that my animals LOVED John right off. I was gone for 7 days and he came twice a day to feed them, play ball, and walk Danny, pet kitties and even clean the litter box ( my hero! Lol). He texted me and sent pictures after each visit as well as wrote down notes on a journal each day. I was very pleased with how he took care of me pets. The pictures he sent showed me very happy animals and made me comfortable about their care. Now when I returned home I was concerned they might like John more than myself but they still were happy to see me! Ha ha Services are prepaid and they make a copy of the house key for future services. I was assured the key would not be keep with my file and my address in case their files were ever stolen.
