So I think this is as much a reflection of JWP as it is any other generic "hormone clinic" but my experience with JWP for HRT has been pretty bad to say the least. I started off already knowing my hormone levels were low, but they made me test with their test anyway, which was fine. After confirming that all of my sex hormones were low and I would need HRT, I was prescribed intravaginal bi-est cream, as well as testosterone/progesterone cream. I asked if there was any difference between the vaginal and topical creams because I had read that vaginal doesn't absorb systemically, only locally. I was told that's not true and the vaginal cream actually increases blood levels more. I met with an actual endocrinologist who specializes in HRT and confirmed this isn't true, and that testosterone vaginally is not a good idea. So I then asked to switch to transdermal cream because I felt no benefit or difference with the vaginal creams. I reluctantly paid for more creams (which cost me $270+ each time - when you can go online to a compounding pharmacy website and see that a months worth of testosterone or biest cream is $70 MAX each, so that would be $140 for both - I expect to be upsold a bit but $130+ per month seems steep). When the creams arrived, I had been sent two of each cream when I only wanted one. I checked my bank statement and I had been in fact charged for two of each cream - $450. I called to try to get it sorted, and was told that there was no mistake and that's what I had asked for. Why would I ask to be sent two months worth of creams when I was still trying to find out the delivery method that even works for me?! I was told I couldn't be refunded the creams that were already sent (even though I didn't ask for the extra creams and won't be using them). I called to consult again a few weeks later because the creams were not working for me and I wanted to try a sublingual form. I also asked if there's a difference between estriol and estradiol because I had heard of most benefits coming from estradiol but had been prescribed a combo of the two. I was told by the practitioner they have the exact same effect but estriol is weaker. I asked to be sent sublingual troches to try, and asked about switching to a higher concentration of estriol to start in case I was sensitive to estrogen, thinking it would be a safer route and have less potential for negative side effects, but still have the same benefits. I made sure to clarify that I only wanted ONE of each troche this time. I was told it would be ANOTHER $270 for 90 day supply, which I reluctantly agreed to because I'm so desperate to feel better and get my hormones to an optimal place. Come to find out, this is ALSO not true - estriol and estradiol act on different tissue in the body, and they are metabolized by different pathways- with estriol only being able to be metabolized down the 16OH estrogen pathway which is more cancer causing and can promote more negative side effects that the 2OH pathway, which only estradiol and estrone can be metabolized down. Super frustrating to pay "specialists" who are either lying to their patients or just have never been actually trained in the complexity of hormones and thus really shouldn't be giving advice or prescribing them. I called the pharmacy myself this time to see the status of my troches and was told that only the troches for the E had been ordered. I called JWP again and they confirmed they had just ordered one as per my request - when I had asked for one of EACH. I put in another request to get the T troches, which further delayed my order which had already not been sent to the pharmacy the day I was told it was. And I'll add I was charged another $270 for the T troches (again, these cost about $100 for a 90 day supply at most any compounding pharmacy's website online). I wasted so much time and money, but I'm mostly upset at the lack of knowledge from these practitioners, leading me around the hamster wheel with my health and out thousands of dollars to be feeling worse than when I started. read more

However my legitimate concerns regarding my health being met by your employee's inadequate medical care, along with her lying outright. My husband and I went here while we had covid. We both had antibodies somewhere else, but we were extremely fatigued. My husband had worse symptoms than me. We had IV cocktails make for our specific needs. My husband had vitamins for covid plus antibiotics and a steroid. He immediately felt better. I just had vitamins. I was told 2 years ago I need a knee replacement by orthopedic doctor at Kaiser Permanente. I accepted this fact and was going to go as long as I could without surgery until I absolutely need it. I originally went to JW regarding the AC tear that I had been avoiding for several months, avoiding because I was afraid I would be told I needed surgery. Wow! This place is amazing! From the moment I walked in everyone was super friendly and welcoming, that is very important to me. They even offered me a guest parking pass so I didn't have to pay for parking, how awesome is that!? I have had 2 treatments done at Joy Wellness and both were great experiences. First I had a vitamin IV, this is becoming so popular and now I know why! I had a little tickle in my throat and felt something coming on, and after the IV I felt great and didn't end up getting sick! I really think the IV is why! I would give negative starts if not for some of the kind staff and care coordinators. But they set me up with Boost Wellness for a worthless pre-screening with a doctor that was late to the appointment and then proceeded to not listen to me as confirmed by the notes she took, then reject me for the therapy I was applying for and told me to to go back to the same therapies I'd tried for decades that I told her hadn't worked (the whole reason I was screening for this new procedure). And after about 20 minutes of this I was charged about $500. An exorbitant price for nothing. Supposedly it includes a couple of wellness coaching sessions which are useless as I can't do the 1 treatment I came for that is different than all the other treatments I've been doing that haven't worked. I'm suffering greatly and have spent more than enough on my health with no results without this horrible doctor charging me $500 to not even listen to me. read more
