This morning I finally got a hold of a real person and they informed me my couch won't be here till Feb 12th. Complete joke. Asked to speak with a manager and was told they wouldn't get back to me for up to 2 to 3 days. Awful customer service and clearly no idea of how to use email to notify customers. Brought a bed frame from this company. The person came to assemble it now it was broken and missing pieces but didn't say until I found out later on. I emailed Joybird support, but they seems to don't understand that issue no matter how much photos and description I provided to them. The technician they send out couldn't fix it. After much research we decided to purchase a couch from Joybird. We appreciated the huge package of swatches they sent so we could compare all fabrics and colors. Purchasing online was easy and now that we finally have our Elliot sectional in cobalt velvet we LOVE it. The fabric is exceptional and the sofa itself is firmer than our old couch but extremely comfortable. We have never purchased furniture online without touching/trying it out so it definitely felt like a bit of a risk but we are relieved. THAT BEING SAID, one reason we chose to purchase from Joybird was their supposedly excellent customer service which we did not experience. Given that we purchased our couch in the middle of the pandemic, we assume this may have been due to short staffing? We had many questions about build updates (we were told we would get them but never did) and delivery and would call 100 times and never reached a human. At the very beginning of our purchase process we were able to reach a customer service rep via livechat but that feature disappeared from their website immediately after. Needless to say we were extremely nervous, thinking we had made a mistake purchasing such an expensive piece of furniture from a company with poor customer relations, and that made the wait for the couch unpleasant. We did end up waiting a full 3 months for our couch to arrive. Again, this may be related to the pandemic? Thankfully the need wasn't urgent, but if you need furniture right away, this is not your company. I ordered my Oberlin cabinet on 12/18, it is now 2/5 and still have no update on when it will be shipped. This is not uncommon I am finding as people on here and FB are reporting similar experiences. Why oh why did I purchase this sofa without checking online reviews? I would highly discourage purchasing anything from Joybird. Their products look pretty on social media, but the trouble you have to go through to get them, the quality in which whey arrive, and the almost non-existent customer support are not worth it. I ordered my sofa in May and at the time Joybird was responsive. Maybe because I was purchasing. Anywho, despite the long delivery time given (8-10 weeks), I was excited to track the status of the build online. Nothing happened for 8 weeks. Once it did start moving, I started to get concerned about the stated delivery window because it was getting close. I was getting ready to leave for vacation so needed an accurate timeline and reached out to get an update. The person who responded to me assured me it was still on time for the delivery window stated online, which was before my trip. I got a notice a week before I was to leave that my order had shipped, but delivery time was an additional two weeks. No communication about the delay from Joybird. That's not even the bad part. The sofa arrived misshapen, the seat cushions were stuffed lopsided. The back pillows were hardly stuffed and flimsy. I reached out to the warranty team with pictures and to request new cushions and pillows, and it took them 12 days to respond. I reached out to ask when someone would contact me and all I got was an apology for the delay due to reduced staff during COVID. Funny thing is, I ordered this during COVID and they were super responsive before they had my money. Once they responded the rep suggested I unzip the seat cushions and reshape myself. I didn't pay $3K for a sofa to reshape it myself. Also, it's not free form stuffing, rather batting on top of foam so no way for me to reshape. I responded that wouldn't work and requested new cushions. That was 7 days ago and still no response. However, if you text them at the number listed on their site they get back pretty quickly, only to apologize for the delays due to COVID. So...they can sell you a pretty sofa during COVID, but can't support it once you get it and have an issue. Priorities! Couch delivered last week after 3 months. Loose threads, weird grey stains all over the fabric, under-stuffed pillows, and they forgot to include the bolts and washers for the legs so right now it is sitting on my floor. NO LEGS! On a brand new sofa! Initially customer service said to file a warranty claim to get a technician out to attach legs, but now have gone totally silent on all channels. Help line goes to voicemail. Text says 1 week delay for warranty claims processing. Outrageous for custom sofas at this price. I am annoyed that I even have to waste my time writing this. I ordered one of the quick ship Lewis sectionals that were in stock. The shipment arrived on the date and time it was supposed to. I asked the delivery team to leave the couch outside because of COVID (I have a baby and two eldery people at home). When we opened the wrapping to bring it inside, we immediately noticed that the couch was torn, dirty and definitely used. Not just lightly used, VERY VERY used. Upon closer inspection, I found like 50 HAIRSSSSSS(???!??!?!) of different colors and lengths in it. There were also paint chips, dust and a nail (wtf) underneath the cushion. DISGUSTING I called Joybird immediately and they had customer service call me back. I asked them for a refund and to come pick up the couch as I am not bringing this dirty piece of junk into my home. However, they said they cannot send anyone until Monday and can only start the process once they get possession of the item. Really?? I told the customer service rep that I will leave the couch outside as I am not bringing that crap inside. Not surprisingly, nobody picked up the couch on Monday. I tried contacting customer service and nobody ever answered the phone. I called the store again and they said they couldn't do anything about it. I emailed customer services and got a message saying someone would contact me in 3-5 days. I ended up calling the scheduling department and asking them to come pick up this piece of garbage. The delivery company, a third party, showed up 4 days after and I got an email from customer service 3 days after that. This place is a complete DISASTER. It took three weeks to get a label. They stated an immediate refund would be processed when I dropped the item off at FedEx - that hasn't happened. At nearly 3K I expected a certain basic level of service. My sectional arrived 8 weeks later on 8/6 with a splintered broken base. The JB Hunt delivery men recommended I refuse the order. After calling customer service I was told they could not help me and that I would have to email the warranty team??? WARRANTY - this is not a warranty claim. Waited nearly 20 days for a response on 8/25 for Joybird to tell me they will re-ship the same couch and order a new base. Once the base arrives in 7-10 business days a furniture repair professional would come install it. Frustrating but seems reasonable. 9/3 - Sectional is re-delivered by men who's hands were covered in black dirt 10X more damaged than originally. -STRONG ODOR, TORN FRAYED SEAMS, COVERED IN DIRT, SCRATCHED FABRIC, LUMPY CUSHIONS. Kept the couch this time as I have been without anything to sit on for months. Once again reached out to the warranty team requesting a new couch be delivered as this is unacceptable and honestly disgusting. 9/17 - 2 weeks later to received an email stating the damage does not indicate a need for full replacement and that they would send someone to clean it and order a new base - A NEW BASE WAS ALREADY ORDERED WEEKS AGO. First, I would like to say a friend bought from Joybird and her couch arrived on time. She's very happy with it. So if you recently purchased and are nervous, maybe you'll be among the lucky ones. However, count this among the reviews advising against buying from Joybird. Over 3 months after ordering, our bed and dresser came. The dresser, I will begrudgingly say I do like it a lot. However our bed currently sits in pieces on the floor. The delivery men said that it came without hardware and to call Joybird. If you've read the other reviews, you know customer service is non-existent at Joybird. So it's been over a week since the delivery and the replacement hardware still has not shipped, and no one is returning our voicemails to inquire about them. At this point we're asking that they pick up the bed pieces and process a return, which some of the reviews are leading me to think will be equally as frustrating, if not more. I'd be very wary of ordering fro Joybird. Their photos and promotions look great, but their customer service has been nothing but awful, rude, stand-offish, and incredibly delayed. After placing an order (and a rather sizable one) on April 5th with a delivery date of June 8th. Seems pretty reasonable! However, probably mid-may I got an email explaining a delay of about 3 weeks due to COVID-19. That also seems reasonable, and the new delivery date was quoted June 23-29. Fair enough. It's now June 25th and I called to inquire about my order and they said it looks like it will take another 4 weeks. No call, no explanation. After I did call, they said it would take about two business days to figure out why. I'm looking now at a delivery date of July 27th, if there are no more delays. That's a total ~5 month window, after already paying for the order. So far the resolution for the issue has been a $100 gift card, or the ability to discuss a remedy AFTER the furniture gets delivered. Note, they insisted they would not discuss a remedy before the order gets delivered. The catch here is that if the remedy is unacceptable, the customer is on the hook for return shipping and a restocking fee. Again, I'd hesitate to order from Joybird. I'm going to consider canceling my order since it looks like I've got another whole month to think about it! read more

July 11, 2020 - Went to the store and placed an order for a couch, single sleeper chair, and bed. Given an expected delivery time of 6-8 weeks (between 8/22-9/5). Aug 22 - Got an email update saying the shipping date is estimated for 9/2. Not delivery date, but shipping date. Delivery estimates show that it takes an additional 2 weeks to go from the warehouse to the local location (NYC). Sept. 2 - No updates on the website, or communication from Joybird. Called, and they said it's still under production. Later in the week, updated to say that the chair and bed were finished, couch was still under production. Sept. 28 - Finally get an email from JB Hunt requesting to chose a delivery date. Chose a date and contacted the company. I live in a building and I needed it to be delivered anytime before 5pm. Their delivery window was 6am-6pm, but I was assured it would come before 5. Oct. 8 - Took the day off from work, was told the delivery window was from 2-4pm. Waited... no updates. 4pm, still nothing. 4:30, called the delivery company, and they said they just left the prior location and are on their way, probably another 45 minutes. Told the rep that the building won't allow deliveries beyond 5pm, he said the prior delivery took longer than expected. Had to refuse delivery. Told that I can reschedule, but it's another week later. Oct. 16 - Delivery guys come on time, however they only unloaded 3 packages. Asked what the items were, said a bed and sofa. Asked about the sleeper chair. They said I should have gotten a call, they couldn't find the chair, so it's getting delivered on another day. No one called, ever, to say that. After delivery was complete, called the delivery company. They said they can't find the chair, and to call Joybird. Called Joybird, no reps answering phone, left voicemail. Oct. 18 - 2 Days after Delivery - Joybird called back, they said we had to give them 6 business days to find the chair. The 6 days started at the time they called, not when the item was deemed "missing" which was 4 days prior. Waited 8 business days, no word. Oct. 28 - 13 days after Delivery - Called Joybird again to find out what happened the the chair. They call back a day later and say that they can put in an order for a new chair because they could not find it. Immediately demanded a refund, they gave me flack about it, but eventually agreed. It took 2 weeks for the refund to go back to my card. Refund issued in November 2020. I will never be buying from them again! How do you lose a $1,200 sleeper chair? How do you not tell the customer about it. How do you argue about giving a refund, and then make people wait weeks for it. This was the worst shopping experience I have ever had. All these comments are negative, so I'll start with some positive notes first. All in all, I like my couch. I got the Preston sectional, and it's really cute, cozy enough, and it really is well made. HOWEVER... the comments are true :( It took longer than expected to get here. When it did arrive, the guys who set it up informed me that the legs didn't come with the couch. I was so confused, but they told me that this keeps happening, and to call them and to "put on a show", so that Joybird would rush the legs to me. The guys were really nice, and seemed like they felt bad... but why was it shipped without legs or giving me a heads up ? I called Joybird, and the girl told me that they were back ordered, and that it would arrive in over a month.. I didn't get upset because it's not her fault, but I asked her if I was supposed to just leave the brand new couch on the floor ? She told me that she would send over legs that were close to the color that I ordered, free of charge, and I could keep those. Those showed up about 6 days later, so I appreciated that. Another thing is that I ordered the couch in an oatmeal color. The couch delivered to me is not oatmeal, it's light gray. Luckily, I was regretting ordering the oatmeal color, and i was actually kinda glad they messed up on the color. I purchased the Lotta bed in 2021 and it's been nothing but a headache. From the beginning shipping took much longer than originally estimated. When delivered they did not include the hardware to assemble the bed so after waiting 3 months for delivery, I had to wait another month for the missing parts to be delivered and then another week+ for someone to come out and assemble the bed. During that time I had the bed in pieces sitting in my bedroom. Fast forward earlier this year a slat supporting my mattress completely fell apart. I contacted customer service and they sent me the wrong replacement part. I had to contact them again to get the right pieces delivered. Thankfully they sent me a box full of replacement slats but 2 more slats have broken since. This bed was not cheap ($2k+) so I'm appalled by the poor quality and that the slats are breaking after about 1.5 years of normal use. For the first time in my life, I purchased furniture. Not used, hand me down furniture - bespoke decent furniture. $5k worth of furniture. After waiting since the beginning of August, i finally got my delivery in November. The fabric i chose is absolutely luxurious. the furniture seems sturdy. The only complaint I have is that i thought ordering a "Left" chaise would mean that when i put my arms up, it would be my LEFT arm that would be on the 'arm' of the chaise. NOPE, that was wrong and my chaise is facing the wrong direction. Be careful if you chose a chaise and understand that you have to be at the foot of the thing, looking at it, to determine which orientation you want. When i called the number, someone called me back quickly but wasn't very helpful, she just explained how they decide which way its facing (day late, dollar short). I could exchange the chaise but i don't want to wait another 4 months and have another $3K tied up waiting for the new couch and return. Poor Craftsmanship and Worse Customer Service! I ordered this sofa from Joybird because I wanted to support a US made product. However Joybird has been a nightmare to work with. Upon receiving our sofa there were deep scratches all over the leather, the legs were not straight, strings and underneath dust cover were hanging down and not cleaned up, to top that off the entire back frame was warped and came off the wall 2.5"!! This is not the quality you expect when paying for a $4k+ sofa. I submitted a warranty claim and it took them over 3 months to offer to replace the sofa, this is after their "repair" person came out and said it was warped and unable to repair it over 2 months prior. It then took another several months to get a replacement sofa. The replacement sofa was also warped on the back frame and came off the wall about 1.5" and leather was still scratched. After several emails back and forth with Joybird they offered me $200 off for the damaged sofa and told me that was the best they could do. Its mind blowing how poor the quality is and the lack of customer service when it came to a damaged product. I would NOT recommend anyone purchase any of their products. Joybird failed repeatedly in three key areas: production, logistics, and customer service. Maybe you'll get lucky and they'll get your order right. But if Joybird doesn't get it right the first time, think carefully before waste your time trying to work with Joybird to resolve the issue. This is why I canceled my Joybird order: 1. I attempted to work with Joybird for 6 weeks to resolve the issues 2. Furniture production in the factory was defective: the sofa legs did not fit onto the sofa body but it was shipped anyway 3. The two piece sectional sofa was loaded on two different delivery trucks with two different delivery companies, thus half the order was "lost" for a week and couldn't be found 4. Joybird failed to call me back as promised to update me on whether or not they had "found" both pieces of the sectional 5. Once found and reunited, the first delivery attempt had to be refused due to factory defect (legs did not fit) 6. Joybird then told me they had spoken to the delivery company and reviewed photos and determined the sofa legs were correct but the wrong hardware had been shipped (so new hardware was shipped out) 7. Joybird again failed to call me back as promised to update me on a second delivery attempt 8. The second delivery attempt had to be refused because the new hardware was in fact the same as the old hardware 9. And because the legs still do not fit, regardless of hardware due to poor quality and defective build After 6 weeks of giving Joybird the benefit of the doubt, numerous phone calls, and 2 days sitting at home waiting for delivery, I finally had to cut my losses and cancel my order. read more

Honestly my biggest problem with them is that it was impossible to get anyone in management to call me back. I left several messages and not a word. No words can describe how stressful it has been trying to get this couch delivered. After waiting 2 months for it to be built, the delivery company provided me inaccurate information twice, costing me and my family significant amounts of time and money to sit there in an apartment and wait for a couch that never arrived. There were also numerous phone calls with them and their shipping company when they repeatedly said that there was nothing they could do to deliver this couch within the time window which they provided two times. UPDATE: 11-23 came and went with no legs and no contact from Joybird. I reached out to them on 11-25 and received a response 11-28 and was told "I do see that we have packaged and have your legs ready to be shipped as of yesterday. The legs will be leaving our factory today and shipped to you via UPS Next Day. So you should be receiving the legs by Thursday or Friday latest." Which would have been the 28th or 29th. Nothing. I sent them another message on the 30th. On 12-2 they responded with a tracking number saying the package would get there on Monday. Which would have been the 6th. Monday came and went and, surprise, the package hadn't even been sent yet. At this point I stopped dealing with Joybird altogether and called American Express. I explained the situation to the customer support agent and sent them all copies of the emails. It was past the date I could file a chargeback at this point, but American Express understood that I had been waiting for them to make this right for TWO MONTHS at this point and it was well documented I had received a defective product from the start and the company knew and acknowledged it was defective. They did a chargeback which meant the money was immediately refunded to me and taken from Joybird. Like magic a set of legs suddenly showed up on my door overnighted to me from Joybird. They were dinged up pretty badly, but I only needed 1 so I used the least damaged one. The legs did not come with the hardware needed to install them, I used the hardware from the defective leg to install them. Luckily I had saved the tool to screw them in, the delivery company warned me this furniture has constant issues and I'll need the allen wrench later when the legs become loose. American Express called to ask if the issue had been resolved and I told them it was so the money was sent back to Joybird. I left a negative review on Joybird's website almost identical to this one. They sent me an email addressing the review, but it never showed up on their website so BEWARE they deceptively hide any reviews they don't like. It looks like if it's less than 4 stars they will pretend like it doesn't exist. Original Review: I ordered 2 fitzgerald chairs on 8-4-18. I selected my fabric at a slightly later date and they were delivered on 10-4-18 which was right on time. The delivery company put the legs on the chairs and set them up and we noticed right away that one chair had the wrong legs, one was significantly shorter than the other front leg. It meant the chair does not sit correctly and cannot be used. I messaged joybird immediately, but it took 2 days to receive a response where they asked for photos. I sent those the same day and it took another 2 days to get a response from Joybird again. They said it would be 2-3 WEEKS to send replacement legs. At this point I was already pretty annoyed and angry, but willing to wait. I received no word or update from them until I sent a follow up email on 11-7-18. On 11-8-18 I heard back from them. They are now saying I will receive my order between 11/19 and 11/23. I can't even begin to describe how frustrating this is. did not seem like Joybird cared. I order a week before blackfriday, bed came with an error after multiple weeks of waiting, then was told will need a tech, then tech said will need a new piece from factory all the time my bedroom was basically a storage for lumber they called a bedframe. During the waiting time from black friday to new years meant i didnt get benefit from other furniture store sales. customer service said fabric was decommissioned(within a month?!) and also a new order to replace the defected product cannot be expedited after what i been through. the last part was the real kicker, Joybird just didnot seem to care. so this is the story i share with friends and family now. read more

Their furniture appears gorgeous online, and we were excited to purchase a new couch, BUT the order was placed over Memorial Day weekend and we never received a confirmation, although our card was charged immediately. A week or so later, we called the company. We were given one delivery date, and when that didn't occur, a second, and then a third. Based on poor communication as well as delivery issues, we decided to cancel the order, worried about the responsiveness of the company should we have a problem with the product. Sorry -- the furniture is beautiful and the customer service people we talked to were friendly, but this company doesn't seem to have it together. read more

My partner and I have been long-time Joybird customers, and we were so excited to order the Hughes sofa for our new home. It arrived after 3 months which is pretty typical nowadays for delivery times. When it arrived, the yellow sofa was completely stained in parts with a blue color. Also, the legs didn't fit onto the couch properly, so we had the delivery men bring it back to the warehouse. After WEEKS of emailing Joybird, we finally got in touch with customer service. Their solution was to have that same, stained and broken sofa sent back to us for a "professional cleaning and installation." What is this - IKEA? We have spent several thousands of dollars so sending us back the same couch just to have it cleaned was simply not good enough. After several more weeks of back and forth, we decided to just get a refund and buy a couch at West Elm. The best part? The customer service rep FORGOT to send us our $4,000 refund. We emailed him and he admitted he forgot to send us our refund! Had we not followed up, we never would have received our money back. We are so disappointed. Going to use our money at West Elm! Beware of this company and read the reviews on why The New York Times will not recommend them. The first 3 couches they sent had poor stitching and the framework didn't align. My delivery crew told me how many Joybird items they return due to poor quality. I bought the Elliot Apartment Sectional and paid extra to have their Sunbrella Premier Fog fabric (Safeguard) since I was told by a rep how "pet friendly" it was and how it would fit my needs. Here's a their description on their website of this fabric. "We created our performance fabrics collection engineered to withstand kids, pets, and everyday life. Soft, stain-resistant, durable, and most importantly, easy to clean, we guarantee our Joybird Safeguard fabrics are as long lasting as they are beautiful". There's no disclaimer, but they will tell you they don't cover any of the above. False advertisement? Hm, isn't that Illegal? The fabric they put on my couch absorbs any type of liquid and stains rather fast. It doesn't run off like the orange juice video they show above that discription. You can't even clean the fabric how Joybird recommends. I had to finally buy a $200 upholstery cleaner and there are still stains. I have called multiple times and emailed them, but all I get in return are cleaning instructions. I was also told I could buy new cushions for my couch for $200 each. Why would I even want to give this company more money for a faulty fabric? I also ordered the Elliot Chair without a pet friendly fabric, but it isn't bad at all. My two dogs always go on it, and it's not stained. Seems like somethings wrong with their Safeguard fabric and Joybird will NOT stand by their product. Save yourself the money and go elsewhere since there are companies out there which will stand by their products and frankly have much better craftsmanship. read more

DON'T DO IT I would of given zero stars if I could. Ordered in Nov 2020. The couch never showed up. Waited and waited and waited and in March 2021so I finally told them to cancel my order since they couldn't seem to answer where my couch was and had zero info on when or if I would ever receive it. Refund finally came in at the end of June 26 2021 minus a shipping fee and a $300 restocking fee. Customer service takes literally 5-10 days to respond to any request. FRAUDULENT COMPANY THAT HAS THE MONEY TO POP INTO MY FEED EVERYTIME I GO ONLINE, HOWEVER DOESN'T HAVE THE ABILITY TO PAY FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AFTER THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY. Since Joybird won't show my review for their couch on their website, I'm posting it here: (for the Preston Sectional with Bumper) RECURRING STRUCTURAL PROBLEMS The sectional is badly built. We ordered it in early September, but it came without one of the designed leg holes so the chaise dips in the middle. Joybird suggested we prop it up with some books until they could build a new one. It is now mid-November and they just delivered the new chaise -- but it is ALSO defective. One of the new legs is too small, so we're back to propping up a $3500 couch. And in case you thought I'm just a customer with bad luck, the delivery team for the not-actually-repaired chaise told us this happens *all the time* with Joybird. It's just very expensive, terrible furniture. UPDATE: They delivered a second and third defective bumper. The second had a structural defect that made it super squeaky, and not sit on the ground evenly. The third didn't have the metal connectors to join with the love seat it's supposed to attach to. It also doesn't stand flat on the ground, but we're just going to prop up one of the legs and call it quits. It took five months before we finally had a couch. They then refused to compensate us in any way. Horrible couches, horrible customer service. read more
