I asked if they had size 16's when we arrived, the lady said a few, I'd have to hunt. There were several girls there ahead of us trying on dresses, the staff was engaging with them, bringing more dresses, placing them in front of tri-mirrors and handing out compliments. When it was my daughters turn, they placed her in a dressing room and never said a word. My heart broke for her.

If you asked for my review after my first visit to Victorian Bridal Salon (when I bought my wedding…read moredress) I would have given them 5 stars. But based on my experiences since, I could never recommend them. First, my bridesmaids dresses didn't come in until one week before my wedding. When we went to buy the dresses in January, Michele said we didn't have time to wait but they would definitely be in on time. Not necessarily Michele's fault that they took so long, but it left a sour taste in my mouth when I called to check on them and she said "well they can take 4 months." I never would have bought my dresses there if she had told me that initially. The dresses finally came in and my girls went to the salon ASAP for their fitting. Michele essentially got them all done in time. Three days before my wedding I have an appointment to put my dress on so Michele can show my girls how to do the bustle and to take my dress home. Before we start, my one bridesmaid puts her dress on again because it was ready. Michele stood in the room while she put the dress on. After she has it on for a few minutes we notice there is a stain on the dress right over her chest. We point it out to Michele and she says "it wasn't there before, something must have happened." Well no, nothing happened. We are all standing here watching her put the dress on and she's not eating or drinking anything. Instead of just owning up to it and going to fix it, Michele says her hair must be wet, which it was not. So then I put my dress on which wasn't even done. The bustle wasn't even done yet so Michele just showed them where everything for the bustle will be. I was supposed to bring the dress home with me that day as my wedding was out of town, but Michele "just didn't get to it." Not a huge deal, my mom luckily can go back the following afternoon and pick it up. So I pay my almost $200 in alterations (mostly for the bustle which isn't even done yet) and my mom gets the dress the next day. We hang and transport the dress exactly as Michele told us to do. When we get to the hotel the afternoon before the wedding we take the plastic off the dress and fluff out the train just as Michele told us to do. Immediately my eyes go to one the appliqués that is now totally bunched up and pinched. It is so obvious and ugly. My mom called Michele and yet again she blamed it on and us and "wondered what could have happened because it wasn't like that on Tuesday." She had absolutely no solution to help us besides for her to walk us through what to do. No, I'm not taking a needle and thread to my wedding dress the night before I get married. So instead my mom and I had to pack up the dress and trudge through a storm to a seamstress that we were very lucky to find. The seamstress looks at it and it turns out the appliqué that is messed up is where one of the loops for the bustle is. So no, it didn't look like that on Tuesday because Michele hadn't done the bustle yet like she was supposed to. Luckily it all worked out and the seamstress was able to get it done, but I had to miss my nail appointment and part of my rehearsal because of the dress situation. Michele never called to check in and make sure our problem was resolved. I have no idea how she could miss that she ruined an appliqué when that was the exact spot she worked on the dress. Mistakes happen, but I could never support a business that chooses to blame the customer instead of owning up to their mistakes. In the end, I paid almost $200 in alterations before my dress was even done, just for Michele to screw up the alterations and leave me hanging 24 hours before I get married.

As we live in different cities, we decided to find a meeting point half way so that I could help her try on some dresses and give my input in real time. Another friend of mine recommended Van Cleve as she had actually found her dress there last summer. We knew that they had the dress there that she had so far narrowed it down to and we thought it would be a great way to try it back on and make sure she loved it the most. Shelley was the perfect sales consultant for what my friend needed! She had a great read of her personality type and style from the moment we met and was just firm enough without being pushy (which I thought would be all left up to me so I appreciated it!). My friend actually did not plan on purchasing a dress that day, wanting to sleep on it, but ended up saying yes to the dress! Shelley walked us through the showroom and pulled some great options, after trying on a few my friend put on the dress she loved at the past salon and kept saying she absolutely loved it (especially with the overskirt that Shelley had pulled to try on with it). Shelley was so great at asking what she loved about it that she actually realized that there was a dress that would be a better fit to her body and a higher quality material who's designer would be able to make the customizations needed to incorporate every detail of the first dress that she loved. We were so happy with the final results and it was the first dress that had the bridal party/bride/MOB all in agreement that it was absolutely perfect. So thankful for Shelley's expertise!

It's a pretty small store and on a Monday we were some of the only people in there. First floor is mother-of-the-bride type stuff in one room, communion and flower girl dresses in another, and prom dresses upstairs. The MOB side is a mix of kinda dowdy and really flashy. The woman was pretty helpful, although she had only been working there for a few weeks. Mom tried on a bunch of things and didn't find much that she was interested in. There were about 3 styles that she thought she would like and just as we were about to create a file a friend of the sales woman came in and she went up to the prom floor with her and sent someone else down to finish the little bit of paperwork...which felt like a brush off.

I was less than 3 months out from my wedding and didn't have time to find and order another dress. Saw that Ivory Concept had a sample for sale of dress that I'd seen online so reached out to try on the dress in person. Let me tell you, the service and warmth that Allie and her team provided was remarkable. They were incredibly helpful and showed me a number of other samples that they had for sale. The store itself is really cute with huge dressing rooms, great lighting, and they carry designers you won't likely find at most bridal shops. I ended up saying yes to my dress here and couldn't be more thrilled with the dress or the customer service at this boutique. 10/10 would highly recommend!

I felt so special when trying on the dresses and I really just had the best experience! They had dresses in various different price ranges and were very transparent before I tried anything on. She didn't just help me find a dress -- she found my soul dress. I'm originally from Germany, grew up there, and later met my husband here in the U.S. His sister recommended L&H Bridal Rack (she also got her dress there), so we went the traditional way -- all the women of the family together. We had the BEST time, even my mom was on FaceTime at midnight from Germany watching me try on dresses. It was such a special experience. Later, things got stressful when the seamstress I used elsewhere didn't do the work she promised -- no bustle, nothing -- and charged me anyway. I called L&H one week before my wedding, panicking. Sara told me to come in right away and reassured me we would find a solution -- and she meant it. Lucy (the owner) and her daughter stepped in, looked at the gown, and said, "This needs real work." And they fixed it in one week. I walked down the aisle feeling absolutely stunning on our first wedding day. Now here's the wild part -- I had a second wedding in Germany at a castle, and that dress was bought at a boutique in Germany, not here.
