I LOVE Joy's! If you're looking for well made, high end furniture that's in good condition then you need to start stopping here on a regular basis. They have an Instagram account that will keep your juices flowing in between visits but if you're really on the hunt you have to shop in person to see it all. See something you like? They will hold it for 24 hours but be ready to pull the trigger because the good stuff goes fast...and it's all good stuff! Everyone who works here seems to be a fellow furniture enthusiast so that's an additional plus. I just bought an amazing Arhaus desk for $1200 and the regular retail would've been $4000. The delivery guys they recommended were complete pros as well. Easy ample parking and WC accessible. read more

When I parked I saw that the open sign was showing. I realized that it was closing in five minutes so I finished what I was doing my car and rushed up to the front door three minutes before they were closing. By that point they had change the sign to say closed. The woman greeted me at the door and said no we're closed. I asked if I could do a quick walk-through just to see if it was worth me driving all the way out here next week and she said no. I reminded her of three minutes until five and walked to my car to write this review. Bummer! I have three houses to furnish and I would've driven back if they'd let me just see what was inside. As I sit here writing this review seven minutes late, multiple people are walking out the door. I guarantee I would've been done doing a quick walk-through. I've shopped at Joy's for almost two decades. In the "early" days when her business was new, Joy made the rules. Because she was running her own business, Joy could be flexible and do what made sense. Today, Joy is no longer running the business. Rules about the consigning process have evolved, and not always for the best. Some of us "old-timers" remember the good old days and are put off when we ask questions and are treated like children, or worse. Some of the people who work at Joy's are knowledgeable, genuinely nice and go out of their way to help. However, as another reviewer wrote, "There is a sense of haughtiness bordering on arrogance that is disturbing." Sadly, this is true of some. Pricing is not consistent. If you are a "little guy" and bring in an item from time to time, your item is likely to be priced very low, if accepted at all. Every now and then, I pick up something very nice for a surprisingly low price. From personal experience, I've come to realize that under-priced items are probably brought in by some other "little guy" who, like me, only occasionally consigns at Joys. Different rules apply to the "big" consignor, and that's where you run into over-priced items. Currently (May 2022), weekends and holidays are a bad time to shop. That's when you are more likely to get the un-joyful experience. read more

I have shopped at Joy's for at least a decade. The staff has always been helpful whether I was buying or selling. Recently, we moved, so we had many items on consignment at Joys. There is a set period for the items to be sold, with price reductions along the way. At the end of the consignment, the customer can donate the items to Joys charity or pick them up. We opted to have them donated, thinking they might help another family. We had a bedframe, artwork, and two dressers that did not sell. I was in the store several weeks later, and to my surprise, the bedframe, artwork, and dressers were back on the floor. The dressers had been stripped and repainted, but they were ours. I asked the assistant manager, Kerry, and she told me the items belonged to Lisa, who was selling them. I couldn't believe Joys had done this and wondered if anyone else had experienced this. read more

I have shopped in this consignment shop for several years. Throughout the pandemic it has maintained its normal service. But as of the last couple of months, that service and professionalism has deteriorated. I'm not sure what's going on but the employees really like to tell people their distain for the management. I do not know anything firsthand with the management. But I do feel it's interesting that employees would talk to complete strangers inside the store with those details. Also, I was in the store recently and they have this area full of untagged items. It looks like the rest of the store. Another customer was kindly scolded for going in that area. It's not marked off and there are no signs with any type of instructions. I saw two very large items that I was willing to purchase. It had no tag. I was told that it had not been registered in the system yet. Apparently they had a large delivery and it was throughout the store. Very hard to tell with backroom items being mixed in with the storefront. A bit frustrating. I asked if I could put those two items on hold so that I could come in and purchase them once tact. Normally you can do this. The lady said she could not. I asked when was the best time to come in so as not to waste a trip and have the item tagged. Of course, trying not to lose the items before someone else gets stuck. Always the game in this store... I was told to come back around 2 o'clock and they should have text. I was there at 2 o'clock. I saw the items with a blue hold tag on it for another customer. But I also saw the sold tag. I was agitated but curious, so I went over to the items and looked at the blue tag. The item was put on hold within a few minutes after I left the store the previous day. I was told those could not be placed on hold. But for another customer they were. As it turns out, one of the disgruntled employees told me that they allow designers to come in and pick items first. He said that's probably what happened. Aside from the date and cost decreases over the course of 90 days for a product, it's also frustrating to find out that there is a list of designers they call to give them first priority. This is a store front! I think that should be disclosed as well. I'm tired of the games in this store. I have had wasted trips because of prioritizing private clients. I have grown tired of the games in the store. It seems like the professionalism has really gone out the door. Today the store looked like a complete explosion. You couldn't tell what was for sale. You could trip over everything sitting near the cash register. All the employees were running around without any consideration that customers were actually walking through their store. You couldn't even get to the one cash register because of all the shrink wrapping happening. It's truly disappointing. Hopefully they can start rectifying being oblivious to actual customers in the building. read more

Wow, what a great experience! All of the staff members were terrific! The sales staff were super friendly. The guys that helped load our furniture in our van were awesome. It was a busy, busy Saturday and the guys took the time to wrap up our furniture, and place in carefully in the van. I felt the prices were good and the quality's was high. I sent in pictures of my items to be consigned, items were approved and date set to take in items. When I entered the store I told the first worker why I was there and the store knew I was coming. The gal seemed as though she didn't believe me and was rather silent and cold to me and was this way while pricing my items. I don't understand the rudeness, I'm thinking if it were not for people bringing items to consign this business would not exist. I have also shopped there and have bought several things and lately the gals working in there are not very friendly. When I asked the person working the floor if they would be willing to lower the price some considering the stains she said, "we don't usually have things with stains, so no" and walked away. Great store, great location and fun treasure hunt, if you hit it regularly. If you want it, get it or it will be gone the next day! The ladies that work there say hello and goodbye if they are in the mood. Lol. They can be a little snippy at times but they have all been there a long time. It does not matter how much you have spent in there or how often you go in their customer service strictly depends on their mood. Four yea disrs ago I was looking for a place to consign items i pick at estate sales etc. The employees were nice ,but the owner chased me out of the store when I went back a second time to consign more items . She yelled at me in front of employees & customers like I was nothing. Im Hispanic. Her actions was unacceptable for this day and age . She must of thought I stole my items. A employee gave me a name of a different place to take my items, whichi did and been consign there for 4 years now. This store should be blacklisted for her racist attitude and reported to the discrimination commission of Colorado . I didn't think of doing it at the time . I'm a big believer in customer service, and this place fails. ALL of my items were approved prior to my arrival. When I arrived today to drop off my items, instead of receiving a common greeting that most human beings are accustomed to such as "hello" or even better for a business something like, "Hi I'm Joy, I own Joy's, thanks for coming in today let's look at your pre-approved items," instead I received in a condescending voice, "Have you even had any of these approved??" Well nice to meet you too Joy, did you leave your manners at home today? In a matter of seconds before any items were even off the truck to get a good look at, Joy said several things were too damaged to sell. I understand that sometimes a photo is not enough to go off of and I can accept the store not taking everything. The problem here is the way I was treated. If I'm going to consign my items that Joy's is going to make money off of, then I deserve a friendly explanation of the contract instead of being dismissed like a burden. Joy immediately set the tone with her rotten attitude, and that caused me to change my mind about consigning anything at Joy's. Not only that, but I will never shop at Joy's either. After reading other reviews, I'm appalled at this store's business ethics; shame on you Joy. There are reviews of people getting cheated out of money, or paying for delivery after their items are approved only to be turned away at arrival, and driving a distance to buy an item on hold that is just given to someone else; those people should report Joy's to the BBB. After my items were ALL approved, I drove my truck 40 miles from storage. But I feel like I really dodged a bullet here by packing up my truck and not doing any kind of business with this store. Not my style but I'm sure someone enjoys this style of furniture and if you're that person you can certainly find some deals here. It's definitely more traditional furniture from thirty years ago. The bedroom sets reminded me of the bedroom set I had as a child (I have fond memories of that set). They had a few nice leather couches, a large variety of mirrors, a variety of chairs, bar stools, dining room tables, patio sets, and let's not forgot the children's furniture in the back. If you're looking for nice furniture without wanting to pay full designer prices this place is worth a look as long as you're aware the prices are not dirt cheap like thrift stores, the prices are still what you would spend for lightly used designer furniture. It was fun to browse, but nothing spoke to me and said, "Take me home". I'm still on the hunt for some furniture so the shopping adventure continues. read more

I have bought many items at Joys and have never had any issues with rude sales people or issues with holding items--I have done that a couple of times. I know my price points pretty well, and her pricing is very fair. Note: get it when you see it or it will probably will be gone. There can be some "back in the day" type furniture, but a lot of people like that and there is also model home furniture often. I have spent so much $$$$ on new furniture from Arhaus and HW Home, that I just wanted to try consignment and I have found a lot at Joys! Thanks for all the great items Joys!!!! What I have come to learn is the ladies that work there simply do not care to be of service or can not be held to thier word.  When I  was number 2 waiting for an item on hold and the customer that placed it on hold failed to act by the close of business I became the number one person the following morning.  I called when they opened the following morning to check I was told I was number one and I had until 2 pm.  I arrived prior to noon and they then told me they decided to give it to the person who failed to act by close of business.  This is not the first time this has happened but it is the last for me.  I have been a long time buyer at joys and I am Done!   I truly encourage every person reading this consider a much better option by going and frequenting Design Repeats just a short drive from Joys here is the info on Design Repeats: Address: 8200 S Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80122 Phone:(303) 670-2900   This is a nice family operation and the owners actually work there on the floor and offers a much wider spectrum of furnishings than Joys even some new things. read more

Loved this place -- lots of nice furniture and artwork, at incredibly reasonable prices. The prices of all items drop by 20% after a certain time on the floor, and continue dropping by 20% every few weeks thereafter until bought...so you can really get yourself a steal if you get lucky. I ended up buying a piece of art for $35, the custom frame of which would have cost at least $160 new -- to say nothing of the art itself. I was greeted by multiple friendly employees who were knowledgeable and in no way overbearing. They were professional and kind. It was a pleasant shopping experience. We bought a table here last week that looked really nice. I was waiting for my fiancé to meet me with our SUV at the store. It was 5:30 and the staff asked if they could help which was great. Then my fiancé walked in and "Joy" herself told him "We close in 15 min, make it quick". I think she meant to say, " Hi, welcome to Joy's, I'm Joy. We close soon, but is there something I can help you with?" He didn't want to buy the table at this point and I had to convince him otherwise. We were going to consign other furniture with this business but not now. Door says they close at 6, but Joy says otherwise. Don't come here and if you must, avoid Joy. Sometimes they have furniture from model homes, but Richmond and other home builders have sales in warehouses for cheaper than Joy's. Do your research. read more

I sent picture of sofa to them, and they stated the would consign it for me. Paid a mover to take it to the shop. They called to tell me they would not consign it due to some dog hairs on the back of the sofa. And that I needed to pick it up. I spent over $700 for movers, without selling my sofa. Horrible! Drove all the way to the store with 'approved' furniture and was turned away by senior person who said 'I don't buy oak'. Maybe Manager, maybe owner, definitely one of the worst customer experiences of my life! Will never shop here again. Overpriced, many items marked higher than prices they sold for brand new. The problem seems to be the hefty commission price the store owner charges the furniture owner. Since the sales people were more interested in talking to each other than helping customers, if I were consigning furniture I would take it somewhere else. We were looking a dining room table, media stand, coffee table and end tables. All were overpriced for used furniture. There are other consignment stores in the area with better prices, and their stores aren't as cluttered because better pricing sells! From the reviews I read from their consignors, it sounds like Joy's is too greedy. They should lower their end-- 50% is outrageous! That just drives the prices up when someone wants to get a reasonable price for their item. It is a fun store to browse in but I don't recommend buying there. We ended up going to AFW-- where we saw a couple of the exact same items that we saw at Joy's, but Joy had them priced $100 over retail! read more

Close to a yoga studio I frequent, I make passes through here once a month or so. Have purchased several inexpensive pieces here that look nearly new. Staff and movers are friendly and helpful. Nothing too contemporary or modern, but basic well-constructed furniture, pictures, and knick knacks. They have sales frequently from model homes if you like that sort of thing. read more

I have been coming to Joys ever since it opened. What a "JOY" to work with all of the staff. RE: her staff... they have been so accomodating and so helpful. They really know how to price things and always get top dollar. They are friendly and very helpful! Awesome customer service! This is one of my favorite stores! They have all the best items from luxurious Cherry Hills Homes as well as new items used in staging houses. Designers come often to find unusual pieces for their clients. I have consigned furniture and have always received a very fair price for my consigned items. I have even purchased some pieces that are some of my favorites even today. If you like antiques? her vintage pieces are at prices that are far below any of the antique malls. But she has mostly contemporary and traditional pieces. Everytime I come in just to walk through it and see what has come in it has changed. If you see something ...grab it... it is gone the next day! That is why the store is such a favorite of everyone in town. read more
