Nice local shop. It's frequently very busy, so you might need to wait a couple of days to drop off your car. But they know their stuff and the prices are very reasonable for the area. I brought my car in here 2/25/2020 for an inspection and was told I had to wait 40 minutes! No one else waiting for an inspection right now.

Fine for an inspection sticker or for gas, but not for repairs. I often get my inspection sticker here. They are fine for that. One time I couldn't pass the inspection without the clear plastic cover for my turn signal. They offered to get one and put it on for $100 so I could pass the inspection. This is a $20 part at retail. That's quite a markup. For auto repairs, I'll stick with Morrison's just around the corner. read more

This is my favorite gas station in JP. Sometimes I feel awkward at full service stations (all gas in JP is full service) because I'm from the Midwest and am not used to someone else pumping my gas for me, but this station is nice and makes me feel less weird about it. They also typically have gas on the cheaper side (at least locally). Their air is only $.75, too! This has hpes me out of many a leaky tire (I had one with a slow leaky for a while because I was too stubborn to replace it). I believe they also do state car inspections, which is nice if you need that sort of thing. read more

Brought my car here because it was leaking coolant and Anthony was quick to diagnose the failing water pump. They gave me a fair price to replace the water pump and timing belt. The next time I brought it in because my check engine light came on, he did a full check and found that the last garage that had changed my brakes in Connecticut had put a hose and a tensioner for one of the engine belts both on backwards. Anthony is an honest mechanic and this garage has never steered me wrong. They offer work at a fair price and go above and beyond. Definitely recommend! read more

Came here with a busted AC. The repair guy didn't even bother examining anything, and told me that he'd have to recharge the AC system before even figuring out any issues. That cost me $150 - acceptable, but certainly on the high end for the amount of attention he gave it. There are plenty of other shops that'll do the same work for the same price, but better quality. I live about a 10 minute walk from this place. It was raining one Saturday so I drove to pickup my food order at the Cuban restaurant across the street from this shop. When I came out my car wouldn't start. Since it was parked right in front of their shop, I waited until Monday to have them take a look at it and I just walked home with my food. Monday rolled around...good news was they fixed it Monday morning, but the bad news was it cost $170 to replace the battery. read more

I'm having problems with the electrical system(s) in my Ford Ranger. Problems in the electrical in your car can be hard to diagnose. I've had to take the truck back in a few times, but each time I take it in I feel that I am being dealt with honestly, and not overcharged. The service from Al (the mechanic) at J.P. Auto Repair is great! Yes, John S., the markup at a repair shop is high, but that is true of all repair shops. It is always cheaper to fix it yourself, if you know how. If you don't, it's nice to have an honest, reliable mechanic available. J.P. Auto Repair (or at least Al) fits that bill. read more

This place loves to upcharge on repairs that requires minimal work. I recommend to always ask for a quote up front before any work is done. Shop around...Remember there is no such thing as a "honest" mechanic. read more

Brought my vehicle in for inspection sticker, vehicle is only 1 year old. I was told I had a leak in my exhaust, I said it's impossible because its a new vehicle. He wanted to fix the problem, I said no, I'll take it back to the dealer since its under warranty. Brought my vehicle to the dealer at 8 A.M. stayed home from work since I work in Worcester, I dont get paid days off by the way. The dealer called me at 3 P.M. and tells me they checked and checked and checked and said there is nothing wrong with my vehicle, and warned me that JP Auto may be trying to scam me. I brought the vehicle back to JP Auto to show the paper work proving I passed inspection with the dealer and JP Auto starts to argue with me telling me he cant give me a sticker even though I have legitimate papers from the dealer, then he told me that the dealer lied to me because they dont give inspection stickers. I told him that they do give inspection stickers at the dealer and he said then why dont you go there for one? I told him that I already payed him for the sticker so why would I pay again somewhere else? I also said that JP Auto is 2 minutes from my home and the dealer is 30 minutes away so I came to JP Auto for convenience so he stopped yelling at me finally removed the rejection sticker and replaced with a registration sticker, NEVER again will I support this business. After telling my story to a couple of neighbors, they informed me that they also had issues with JP Auto being dishonest. read more

This place is horrible. I went in two years in a row for car inspection since it's close to where I live. I almost got into a car accident yesterday because my break is not working properly. I realized the break pads are almost worn out. I passed my inspection there two months ago and only drove less than 300 miles during that 2 months. That meant the break pads should already be worn out at the time of inspection but he didn't say anything. I went back to ask him about that and he told me he only check brake pressure but don't care about the real brake pads... I ended up having to replace two rotors on top of break pads. I would appreciate if the car inspection actually is looking out for our safety! I could have gotten an accident because he didn't want to do his job right and just want to get the $35 inspection fee!!! read more

I needed some minor unconventional work done to my car after a bolt broke when I was replacing my muffler. I called around and stopped by many of the other Auto repair shops in the area because my usual auto place was booked up until the following week. They all said it would take a few hours or days to get me in and gave me estimates around $50 to have a bolt ground off my exhaust (which is absurd). Rafael (the mechanic) at JP Auto Repair got me in within 20 minutes, did the work in about 15 minutes and only charged me $20. I will definitely be going back for other auto work in the future! And hey, its a full service gas station too! read more

JP Auto has never steered me wrong. Everytime I drop my car off with Billy I call my mother and boyfriend and tell them I am changing careers as I'm inspired by my auto-mechanic. He does a great job, won't rip you off and has the cheapest gas in town. read more

I got my oil changed here for a few years and I have had some other work done. When the oil started to leak after a change- because the oil drain screw was no pit back in properly and it damaged the tack-they first played dumb to the problem- then they refused to fix it- unless I paid- and hten they wanted to charge me give me a $50 dollar discount on job they said would cost $350. T=If they accepted thier responsibiltiy they would have offered to do a lot more. All the while they made me feel very uncomfortable- I was made to feel like I was the bad guy. In then end I have not trust in them as a service provider and would recomend people find other businesses to support in the JP community. read more
